EPILOGUE — TEN YEARS LATER
The house was never quiet.
Not anymore.
It wasn't the bad kind of noise—no alarms, no sharp edges. Just life. The thud of feet on stairs. The sound of laughter colliding with shouting. A piano key being struck repeatedly and incorrectly. Someone yelling, "THAT WAS MINE," followed by someone else yelling, "YOU SNOOZE YOU LOSE."
I stood in the kitchen doorway, coffee forgotten in my hand, watching the chaos unfold like a scene I'd memorized and still couldn't believe was mine.
"Kalix," I called, already knowing it was useless, "if you jump off that couch one more time, I swear—"
"I CAN FLY," Marco Kalix Mariano Watson the youngest of the triplets....announced at full volume, launching himself anyway.
Keifer caught him mid-air without even looking up from tying his shoe.
"No, you can't," my husband said calmly. "You can fall. There's a difference."
Marco grinned, unapologetic. "Worth it."
Of course it was.
Serina Jean Mariano Watson—nine years old going on ninety the eldest amongst the triplets...—sat at the dining table with her arms crossed, watching her brothers like they were a personal inconvenience she'd been assigned at birth.
"They're embarrassing," she muttered, not even bothering to lower her voice.
Mark Keian Mariano Watson, the middle child and eternal instigator, leaned over her shoulder. "You're just mad because Mom said you can't control the schedule today."
Serina's glare was lethal. "I wasn't controlling it. I was organizing."
"Same thing," Keian said cheerfully, darting away just in time to avoid her pencil.
Keifer finally looked up, amusement tugging at his mouth. "Okay. Shoes. Bags. Sanity. Let's move."
I caught his eye.
Ten years.
And he still looked at me like I was the beginning of something good.
He crossed the room in three strides, pressing a quick kiss to my temple. Familiar. Easy. The kind of affection built from a thousand ordinary moments.
"You okay?" he asked softly, like he always did.
I smiled. "I'm always okay when you're home."
He smiled back, slower. Deeper.
"Gross," Serina said immediately. "Please stop flirting in front of us."
Keifer raised an eyebrow. "We're married."
"Still gross."
Marco pointed at us. "I think it's illegal."
"It's not," I said, laughing. "I checked."
The triplets groaned in unison.
Some things never changed.
---
Family gatherings had only gotten bigger over the years.
More noise. More chairs. More food than any sane group of people could possibly eat. Keifer's brothers arrived first—Keigan loud and teasing with his wife whi were now expecting, Keiren still sneaking snacks and immediately being mobbed by the kids.
Uncle Kier followed, calm as ever, giving me a hug that lingered just a second longer than necessary.
"You look happy, anak," he said.
"I am," I replied easily. "Still."
My parents arrived next. Papa—Jashfer—older now, softer around the eyes, still grounding just by standing near me. Mama—Reycee—swept the kids into her arms like she'd been waiting all week for it.
"My grandchildren," she announced proudly. "All of you, come here."
Serina straightened instantly. Keian smiled his sweetest smile. Marco tried to climb her like a tree.
Aries and Percy came barreling in after them, arguing loudly about something meaningless even there own kids were traumatized by there entices.....
Kuya Angelo followed, quieter, observant, still watching over us all like it was his job.
Tita Gemma cried, as usual. "I blinked and you built a whole life," she said, holding my face. "You're glowing."
I laughed. "It's exhaustion."
Then came Section E.
All fifteen of them.
Louder than necessary. Closer than polite. Exactly the same.
Cin clapped Keifer on the back. David nodded. Eman yelled hello from the doorway. Rory smirked like nothing had changed. Edrix commented on the kids' posture. Mayo and Kit immediately argued. Josh pretended not to cry. Denzel and Drew brought gifts. Eren looked overwhelmed. Calix laughed when Marco announced they shared a name "for destiny reasons." Yuri nodded once. Blaster knocked something over.
Felix, of course, made an entrance.
He surveyed the room, the kids, the chaos, the noise—and smiled wide.
"Well," he said, dramatically, "if this isn't proof that you two absolutely committed to the bit."
Keifer snorted. "You love it."
"I do," Felix admitted. Then he crouched in front of the kids. "So. Which one of you is the troublemaker?"
Marco raised his hand proudly.
Keian raised Marco's other hand.
Serina sighed. "It's genetic."
Felix laughed so hard he had to sit down.
Still the same Section E the only difference was all of them were fathers now but still whenever they met it still felt like they were in back at the classroom arguing over food and nonsense.....
---
Later that night, when the house finally slowed—when kids were half-asleep on couches and conversations softened into murmurs—Keifer found me on the porch.
The air was warm. Quiet in a way that felt earned.
He sat beside me, close enough that our shoulders touched.
"You okay?" he asked again, smiling like he knew the answer.
I leaned into him. "I was thinking about our wedding."
He hummed. "Yeah?"
"I remember being scared," I admitted. "Not of you. Just… the future."
He wrapped an arm around me, pulling me closer. "And now?"
I looked back through the window—at our children, our friends, our family, the life spilling out of every corner.
"Now it feels like home," I said. "Like something I grew into."
Keifer kissed my hair. "You always do."
I smiled, resting my head on his chest.
Ten years ago, I stepped through an open door.
Tonight, I realized—I'd never stopped walking forward.
And I was still smiling.
