Chapter 11 - pearl of the abyss

These words made An Conghao stop in his tracks and turn around with an extremely ugly expression.

The three of them watched Xiao Tao feed herself to the Buddha, until Xiao Tao ripped open her own stomach, her intestines spilling out onto the floor.

An Conghao and Han Qi could no longer hold it in and started vomiting on the spot.

"Ugh! Ugh!" The office was filled with their retching sounds.

A moment later, the two stood behind Jiang Yan, their faces pale. Jiang Yan turned his chair to face them.

He looked at Boss An, a smile playing on his lips, yet his gaze held a chilling coldness: "Boss An, I wonder if you'll support my new venture?"

These words, coupled with Xiao Tao's corpse kneeling behind him, palms up, her two blood-red eyes staring at them, were an immense shock to their nerves.

An Conghao's legs turned to jelly. If Han Qi hadn't come up behind him to support him, he would have already collapsed to his knees in fear.

"I'm willing to support you, no matter how much money it takes!" An Conghao said quickly, looking at Jiang Yan.

He was afraid that a second's delay would turn him into Xiao Tao.

Upon hearing this, Jiang Yan's smile widened: "Boss An, you've made a perfect decision. Let me introduce myself, my name is Jiang Yan. You can find my specific information on the Inspectorate Network's S-rank wanted list!"

As he spoke, he stood up and walked to An Conghao. An Conghao, at 1.7 meters tall, could only look up at Jiang Yan.

Jiang Yan extended his left hand and placed it on An Conghao's head, staring at him with a cold tone: "But don't even think about notifying the Inspectorate afterward. Even hundreds of kilometers away, I can take your life with a single thought. It's best to honestly work for me!"

"Yes... I will never betray you." An Conghao lowered his head, not daring to look at Jiang Yan.

He had heard rumors before about Awakened Ones and martial arts masters far exceeding human limits in this world, but he had always treated them as mere entertainment.

He never expected to encounter one today, and with such cruel and terrifying methods.

Jiang Yan looked at An Conghao, who had lowered his head, expressionless.

What he said was by no means a threat. The Ghost Buddha existed as an energy body; ordinary people couldn't see him unless he actively revealed himself.

As for exposing his identity, he didn't care. With An Conghao's status, it would be easy to investigate him anyway.

Seeing this, Jiang Yan reached into his pocket and pulled out a palm-sized notebook, handing it to An Conghao.

"Everything I need is on it. Don't worry, I'm not just a bloodsucker who only takes. As long as you work honestly for me, I can give you wealth and status far beyond what you have now, and even help you step into the transcendent realm!"

With the abilities he possessed, these things would eventually come true. Whether An Conghao believed it or not was his business!

An Conghao took the notebook, and listening to Jiang Yan's words, his breathing clearly began to quicken. At his level, while more money was always good, it was far less appealing than stepping into the transcendent realm as Jiang Yan described!

"I understand, I will complete these as soon as possible." He held the notebook and respectfully said to Jiang Yan.

Jiang Yan nodded at him, then took one of his business cards from the office desk behind him: "I'll come back to find you in two days."

After speaking, Jiang Yan put on his sunglasses and walked out. As for Xiao Tao's corpse, Jiang Yan believed that such a minor issue would be no problem for An Conghao.

'I hope you all act honestly.' He calmly walked to the elevator.

In the office behind him, next to An Conghao, a tall figure he couldn't see was looking at him with a benevolent expression.

If he dared to notify the Inspectorate, he would meet the same end as Xiao Tao.

After Jiang Yan left, An Conghao could no longer hold on. He broke free from Han Qi and sat on the ground, gasping for air: "Hoo hoo!"

He looked at Xiao Tao's corpse and felt a surge of terror, quickly turning his head away: "Han Qi, quickly contact someone to dispose of this body, and give her family five million for funeral expenses."

"Yes, Boss!" Han Qi was only slightly better than An Conghao. He quickly pulled out his phone and started contacting people to handle it.

As for contacting the Inspectorate, neither of them dared to even think about it.

He had directly told them he was an S-rank wanted criminal, clearly unafraid of the Inspectors, coupled with his bizarre methods.

Thinking of this, An Conghao couldn't help but feel his hair stand on end.

As Jiang Yan went downstairs, the other Bodyguards who had been frozen now began to move.

One Bodyguard stared at the descending elevator with a terrified expression: "What the hell was that? I couldn't move my whole body, like I was being ghost-pressed."

The other Bodyguards had the same expression. Some of them quickly ran to the office, only to see an even more terrifying scene.

After going downstairs, Jiang Yan immediately took a taxi to the outskirts. He bought some food and a tent at a nearby small supermarket, then found a secluded grove and went inside.

In the small grove, Jiang Yan lay in the pitched yellow tent, his eyes blankly staring upwards.

His consciousness sank into his mind. Through the Ghost Buddha's light spot, he could clearly see An Conghao's actions.

Then Jiang Yan focused his consciousness on the black bead next to him; the energy that had been completely depleted seemed to have reappeared slightly.

'Is this the harvest from An Conghao just now? Negative emotions include those, fear? Despair?' Jiang Yan pondered, continuing to look at the black bead.

It would be great if it could display the specific emotions to collect and the progress.

The next moment, with the appearance of this thought, Jiang Yan felt that the black bead seemed to have undergone some changes.

pearl of the abyss: 11/200

Negative Emotions: Anger, Sadness, Fear, Despair

'Negative outcomes caused by the Host or the Host's subordinates and monsters will be absorbed by the pearl of the abyss.'

Looking at the changes in his mind, Jiang Yan's eyes narrowed slightly: 'Is this bead called the pearl of the abyss?'

He was now waiting for An Conghao's progress.

Meanwhile, in a room on the 29th floor of Haoyang Real Estate, An Conghao was reading the notebook Jiang Yan gave him. Someone had died on the 30th floor, and he didn't want to stay there, finding it unlucky.

"One top-tier hundred-meter laboratory, fifty pieces of each type of natural or synthetic crystal, an experienced medical team with corresponding equipment, and one experienced genetic biological expert and one neurological expert."

Looking at the requirements, An Conghao began to pull out his phone to contact people. The first three could be handled with money, but the last item gave him a headache.

"Experienced researchers are not easy to poach," An Conghao couldn't help but rub his head.

However, he still ordered people to start searching, even if they couldn't get them, at least he'd have an explanation... Haizhou, outside HQ City Central Hospital, a black car was parked at the hospital entrance.

Wu Peng and Li Pubin were waiting at the entrance. Seeing the black car stop, they quickly stepped forward.

Bang bang bang!

The sounds of car doors opening and closing rang out consecutively, and three individuals with special temperaments, dressed in black suits, exited the car.

Wu Peng stepped forward and shook hands with the leading woman, who was 1.7 meters tall, had a graceful figure, a cold and beautiful face, and shoulder-length hair: "Hello, I am Wu Peng, the mayor of this city. This is Li Pubin, the director of the Inspectorate Bureau."

The woman's handshake was firm but brief. Her tone was cold: "Tang Ling, captain of Xuanjian Division's Eighth Group, Third Team. I'm here to take my team member home."

Behind Tang Ling, a handsome young man with bangs stood there, his eyes vacant.

"Sigh! Captain Tang, please come with us." Wu Peng sighed and led the three towards the hospital.
