The clock continued ticking, and soon it reached half past eight. The sun had long set, now replaced by the moon and the faintly twinkling stars.
The heavily-disguised Regina and Hazel checked out of the inn. At the same time, the invisible Isaac and Felix waited outside.
The four of them seemed leisurely, as if they weren't heading to another destination to complete their mission.
At this hour, the commercial streets were still busy with people. Espers and ordinary survivors alike took this chance to unwind after a hectic day, but the atmosphere wasn't particularly lively.
Most survival bases were like this. While some found entertainment by chatting, playing cards or even singing while looking at the night sky, most were already in their living quarters.
"Oh, I'm hungry~ Where shall we eat?" Hazel said in a sing-song voice as she walked out of the inn. She glanced at Regina, but her gaze actually fell on Isaac and Felix.
