T/W: Family violence & death

Eyes flung wide, Lucille's breath caught in her throat. Her body refused to move, rooted where she was. Frozen in shock and fear, she watched Moira jump from the top of the staircase.
Panicked, Arthur shoved her backward. "Lucy! Get back!"
"Dad!"
Lucille fell hard on her buttocks, and her hands instinctively broke her fall. Hurriedly looking up, she heard her father's shout above her own ragged breath.
"...Mom?" she gasped, eyes widening in horror. "M-mom!"
Below the staircase, Moira's body lay twisted at an unnatural angle. She didn't move, as if she had truly lost her life.
For a second, a deep sense of fear took over Lucille, fearing the worst had happened. But she still hoped that her mother was still breathing despite the state she was in.
Then Moira's limbs twitched, signaling she was still far from the gates of the underworld.
