Chapter 94 - Big Numbers

Su Yue walked over to where Lin Feng and Mengqi were seated.

Mengqi handed her a glass of water.

"How are you feeling?"

Su Yue took a long drink before answering.

"It's not as tiring as normal streams, actually."

Lin Feng nodded.

"That's nice to hear. During the transition, we might move your brand toward more 'let's chat' style streams, so you should get used to it."

She nodded.

"Well, these are today's statistics," he said, turning his laptop toward her.

She moved past Mengqi and sat down next to Lin Feng, leaning in to look at the screen.

Total stream duration: 58 minutes

Peak concurrent viewers: 15,647

Average viewers: 7,928

Total gifts received: ¥78,394

Chat messages: 118,634

Her mouth fell open.

"Was... was the World Train worth that much?"

Lin Feng shook his head.

"You misunderstand. The World Train was just ten thousand yuan. The rest was from the chat."

He scrolled through some data.

"Though it definitely played a part in the huge number as it incentivizes people to donate more."

Su Yue stared at the number.

¥78,394.

It really was a lot.

This was more money than her parents used to earn per year... combined.

Mengqi interjected.

"Anyway, because of the stream, we didn't have our evening training session today. But today was the last day."

Her tone sharpened slightly.

"I expect you to be there for all training starting tomorrow. You should take a rest now."

Lin Feng closed the laptop and stood up.

"She's right. You should get some rest."

He began packing his things into his backpack.

"Don't think about streaming too much for now. Allow yourself to relax."

He slung the bag over his shoulder.

"If you encounter any sort of trouble... you know where to find me."

He turned toward the door.

"Mengqi, let's go."

The two of them left.

The door clicked shut behind them.

Su Yue sat on the couch, pouting.

I wanted to talk to Lin Feng more...

Then she remembered Mengqi's words from before.

"Can you give that up over a man who might never even look your way outside of business?"

"Hmph. What a liar," she muttered.

She had earned so much money tonight, yet Lin Feng's expression had remained his usual calm self. He didn't really care about the money.

That must mean...

He likes her for who she is.

She buried her face into the couch cushion and began giggling.

Then she paused.

She looked to the side.

Though... I'd have preferred if he was prouder of me.

She groaned and pushed herself up from the couch, dragging her feet toward the shower.

Lin Feng and Mengqi arrived at her apartment building.

As she opened the door to the entrance, Lin Feng received a notification.

[Personal account has been credited with ¥5,850.00 from account ending in...]

He smiled.

I can always count on Su Yue.

He summoned the full system.

[Infinite Money System]

[Total System Balance: ¥27,862.00]

[Available System Balance: ¥27,862.00]

[Personal Balance: ¥28,544.00]

He looked at the balance.

Tianji Capital's gain wasn't bad either - he had earned ¥500 from it.

Speaking of, he wondered how Tianji's traffic was going. He had intentionally instructed Su Yue to "forget" about the sponsorship until the end of the stream, right at peak viewership.

If they managed to transform that into clicks, they might really reach a million in AUM.

Though he wasn't as sure now. The unique viewers from the World Train didn't have loyalty to Moon Fairy like her regular viewers did.

Mengqi's voice interrupted his thoughts.

"Thank you for walking me back."

She was about to step inside when he spoke.

"Wait."

She turned.

"Is there something else?"

He pulled out his phone and opened his banking app. Using the system, he sent her ten thousand yuan.

"I just sent you ten thousand yuan," he said. "Use it for Su Yue's training facilities, as well as anything else you might need. In relation to her training, of course."

He pocketed his phone.

"If it runs out, feel free to ask for more."

She looked at him for a moment, then nodded.

"Understood."

"Goodnight."

He turned and walked away.

Mengqi watched his figure disappear into the night before stepping inside.

Tuesday, October 27th.

Lin Feng's eyes opened.

He lay there for a moment, staring at the bottom of the bunk above him.

Then he sat up and began waking his roommates.

A chorus of groans answered him.

He grabbed his things and headed for the shower.

A few minutes later, the four of them gathered for their daily meeting.

Reports were exchanged, tasks were assigned, and soon everyone went their separate ways.

Lin Feng sat at the study desk.

Today he didn't have any exams, so he was free all day. Tomorrow he had College English, which - with his skills - required no revision whatsoever.

Not that he needed to revise for any subject, to be honest.

Since he didn't have anything to do, he decided to work on something.

He opened up his laptop and began researching games.

He had mentioned wanting to enter the game industry before, and he felt he really should. His coding skills were passable now, and he had the money for marketing and anything else he might need.

This thought had become especially prevalent in his mind after Su Yue's recent break.

Now that she was taking a hiatus from streaming, so was his daily stable income. It also took a hit on his Tianji Capital earnings since he had decided not to keep increasing his money in Tianji every day like before.

It could lead to suspicion.

While Yu Shen didn't seem suspicious of anything, there was only so far one could push a thing.

Lin Feng looked at his screen.

The gaming scene did look a little bleak.

To be honest, it wasn't all that different from the future. While they had made huge advancements over the years, the main sentiment was always the same - "games aren't like they used to be."

And even now, he could see that same sentiment.

He supposed games really wouldn't ever be "like they used to be." Or rather, like they currently were.
