The thunderous roar of cannons blasted away rows of undead with five metal balls and created a cloud of gunpowder smoke. Skeletons and zombies were thrown into disarray. For a moment, their advance paused in that place.
This let the royal handgunners move into a position for shooting.

The volley of their shots threw the undead back… But unlike with cannons, not for long. Bullets didn't do enough damage.
After the initial retreat, the undead returned to slowly push the human lines back. With each second of fighting, the advantage moved more and more to their side as humans grew more and more wounded.
But the king rode among them, giving words of encouragement, and behind him was Garron, reading a combat prayer.
When he finished, Light flew from his hands, enveloping entire regiments of soldiers. At the front line, over five hundred people suddenly felt their bodies filling with strength and their weapons glowing with power to destroy the undead.
