Chapter 19 - Chapter 19: Obtaining a Blue Badge

"No more fighting—we give up!"

"Yeah, little brother, you're way too strong! We can't fight you anymore!"

Raj stood there speechless, watching the three Cerulean sisters arguing among themselves.

What the hell? Isn't this supposed to be a gym challenge?

He couldn't help but shake his head. The match had barely ended, and they were already surrendering? This was too ridiculous.

"Uh... so does that mean I passed the challenge?" Raj asked softly.

"Of course!" Daisy said quickly from the opposite platform.

"Then... can I have the Cascade Badge now?" he asked.

"The Cascade Badge? Of course! Come with us. We'll show you all our badges, and you can pick whichever one you like," Daisy said cheerfully.

The three sisters stepped down from the platform and motioned for Raj to follow them.

They led him into their private quarters inside the Cerulean Gym.

The room was cozy and feminine—pink walls, soft lighting, and an entire collection of plush pillows shaped like Water-type Pokémon.

"Little brother, where are you from? Your Pokémon are so fierce," Lily asked curiously.

"Uh... I'm from Pallet Town," Raj said, a faint smile tugging at his lips.

"Pallet Town?!" the three sisters said together, turning in surprise.

"Yeah, what's wrong?"

"You people from Pallet Town are all freaks!" Sakura complained, crossing her arms.

"Each one's stronger than the last. The only one who's kind of average is Ash. I still don't understand why Misty decided to travel with him!"

Raj chuckled awkwardly. He remembered that these sisters had quite the unlucky history with Pallet Town trainers.

Every time someone from there challenged them—except for Ash—they lost badly.

No wonder they were so salty.

And after he appeared and beat them into tears… yeah, they probably hated Pallet Town trainers even more now.

While they chatted, Lily opened a small case she'd taken from the shelf. Inside were several neatly arranged Cascade Badges, each gleaming under the soft light.

But to Raj, they all looked exactly the same.

Is there even a difference? Just give me one already.

"Here, take whichever you like. Congratulations on officially defeating the Cerulean City Gym!" Lily said warmly, holding out the box.

Raj smiled, picked one at random, and clipped it into his badge case.

Now, he had three badges in total.

He was getting closer to qualifying for the Indigo Plateau Conference—the Kanto Region's grand Pokémon League.

With his current team's strength and the way they were evolving, Raj was confident. Give him a little more time, and he'd not only qualify…

He might just win the entire championship.

After receiving the Cascade Badge, the sisters invited Raj to stay for dinner. He didn't refuse—who would turn down a meal with three beautiful women?

They talked and laughed over food, and when the evening ended, Raj finally said his goodbyes and left the Cerulean City Gym.

Outside, Cerulean City buzzed with life. Raj stopped by a few shops to stock up on supplies—food, potions, Poké Balls—everything his airship needed for travel.

He then slipped through a few narrow alleys, storing his purchases inside his spatial backpack. No way was he carrying all that by hand.

When everything was packed and ready, he stood quietly for a moment, thinking about his next move.

From Cerulean City, he could head either toward Vermilion City or Celadon City.

But there was one place that suddenly came to mind—Bill's Lighthouse.

It lay between Cerulean and Lavender Town, and he remembered how mysterious it was from the old Pokémon TV series he'd watched in his previous life.

A mysterious lighthouse… and a strange Pokémon said to appear there at night.

Raj smirked.

"Guess that's where I'm heading next."
