"Bring out whatever abilities you have and use any methods you want because he can handle them," Apollo said calmly as he lit a cigarette and blew out a ring of smoke.
On the battlefield, the three finalists besides Raj all showed shocked expressions before slowly stepping apart and watching each other cautiously as tension filled the air.
Given Raj's identity, he naturally did not care about becoming a Team Rocket Executive because he was supposed to be Team Rocket's Young Master.
However, having Executive status would make many things more convenient.
First place was something he absolutely intended to take.
The other three clearly had the same goal as their cautious gazes revealed.
Raj, however, looked completely relaxed, almost like an examiner observing the match instead of a participant.
"It seems your enthusiasm has been ignited now I declare the finals officially begin first match Xiao Fa versus Arno the battle begins," Apollo announced.
Raj slowly exhaled and calmly stepped away from the battlefield.
His eyes briefly shifted toward the female finalist walking down from the opposite side.
If nothing unexpected happened she would be his strongest opponent.
Her name was Qing Shui.
When their eyes met Raj smiled slightly before returning to his seat.
He needed to maintain his condition carefully to ensure victory and obtain the Mega Evolution Bracelet together with the Mega Stone.
Whether he became an Executive afterward did not matter to him.
"Golem use Rollout," one Trainer commanded.
"Rhyhorn use Horn Drill," the other responded.
The battle immediately became intense as loud explosions echoed across the arena.
Soon a massive explosion shook the battlefield.
Golem used Self-Destruct.
The grassy battlefield instantly became covered with deep craters as the explosion swept across the arena.
Both Pokémon collapsed at the same time and lost their ability to battle.
So it was a draw.
Raj could not help twitching his mouth slightly when he saw the destroyed battlefield.
That was ruthless.
Seeing no chance of victory the Trainer chose to drag his opponent down with him.
"Since both Trainers have no remaining Pokémon and both Pokémon fainted simultaneously this round is declared a double elimination and both contestants are disqualified," the referee announced.
Xiao Fa and Arno glared at each other fiercely before leaving the battlefield with difficulty.
Since both had been eliminated the final match arrived earlier than expected.
"Because Arno and Xiao Fa have both been eliminated the finals will now proceed directly Xiao Chen versus Qing Shui this match will determine first place," Apollo announced seriously.
"If I am not mistaken these two are the strongest contestants this season their battle will certainly be very exciting," Apollo added as he crushed his cigarette under his foot.
Raj slowly opened his eyes and stood up before calmly walking onto the battlefield.
The audience below fell completely silent as they watched the two finalists step forward.
After all this battle would determine the champion.
"The finals begin now," Apollo declared as he swung his flag downward.
At the same moment both Trainers threw their Poké Balls.
"Go Muk," Raj said calmly.
"Go Victreebel," Qing Shui responded.
"Victreebel if you face Muk then this battle will not be easy for you," Raj said confidently.
Victreebel Grass and Poison type Pokémon evolved from Weepinbell known for luring prey using sweet scent before trapping them inside its mouth.
Combat Power 1000.
Known moves Vine Whip Razor Leaf Sleep Powder Sweet Scent Leaf Storm Leaf Blade Petal Dance Synthesis.
Type advantage did not exist between them.
Muk was not afraid of Grass-type moves and Victreebel's Poison typing prevented any major weakness.
The only dangerous threat was Victreebel's acidic digestive fluids which were extremely powerful.
"Victreebel use Vine Whip," Qing Shui commanded.
"Muk use Iron Defense," Raj responded immediately.
Victreebel's vines cut through the air with sharp speed and struck Muk directly.
However Muk did not dodge at all.
The impacted portion of its body simply softened slightly without showing any sign of injury.
"This Shiny Muk is incredibly strong such a powerful attack did nothing to it," the spectators below whispered in shock.
"How is it your attack feels like nothing to Muk," Raj said with a calm smile.
"Victreebel use Sleep Powder," Qing Shui ordered immediately.
"Muk Dig," Raj responded without hesitation.
Sleep Powder and similar moves were extremely dangerous in real battles.
Once affected the opponent would be completely helpless.
Qing Shui's expression changed instantly.
"What Muk can actually use Dig," she asked in shock.
Even Apollo showed an approving expression.
It was no surprise Giovanni had taken interest in this Trainer.
Muk quickly disappeared underground and avoided the attack completely.
Moments later it burst upward from beneath Victreebel and struck from below.
Although the Ground-type attack did not deal massive damage Victreebel was clearly shaken by the sudden strike.
