Chapter 47 - 10 days to the duel

Many days had gone by and now we were only ten days to the duel and I had trained myself to a point I had sleepless nights.

After what transpired between Lauren and I, I made sure I trained extra harder and to make things difficult for me, the king's swordsman who had trained him to learn to fight with sword, refused my request.

And there was no word from the swordsman I requested from my hometown, making me suspect that Lauren may have a hand in it.

Ever since that warning, we never crossed paths nor did he come in search of me.

We stayed distant and I didn't bother going after him.

What he did that day humiliated me and from that moment, I had vowed not to take him seriously.

It had rang severally in my mind how he had boldly told me I had made an enemy out of him. That was too much and it was all because of Peculiar.
