The ridge was still collapsing when Simon moved again.
His left hand tightened around the God of War's face. He hauled the god out of the crater, turned his wrist, and drove him down cheek-first.
BANG!
Then he ran.
Crimson lightning flashed along his legs. Wind gathered behind him, and his first step tore a trench through the broken stone.
BOOM!
The God of War's body dragged beside him.
His face ploughed through the ground beneath Simon's palm, throwing up a continuous spray of rock. The sound was swallowed by the shockwave following them.
However, Simon heard the groan against his fingers.
He accelerated.
There was no spatial fold this time. Nothing vanished between one place and another.
Simon crossed the entire distance.
And the land showed it.
A wall of compressed air raced ahead of him. Boulders lifted before his feet reached them, then burst apart as the god's body struck through.
The Chaos Blade vanished from his right hand.
