Chapter 31 - A Bond Of Our own

"Chao and your pet are friends," Rong Yue said calmly. "He would know where he went today."

Wuhen's gaze snapped to Rong Chao.

The younger tiger went pale under the cold, ruthless red-gold fox eyes fixed on him.

"Did he say anything before he left?" Wuhen asked, forcing his tone calmly. Though it came out as a low growl.

"He…" Rong Chao cleared his throat, standing rigid to keep from faltering in front of his brother. "He said he needed somewhere quiet."

"Somewhere quiet?" Wuhen raised a brow. "What does that even mean?"

Rong Chao bowed his head. "I don't know."

"Leave, Chao. He will be found."

Rong Yue ushered him out just as a servant entered with a tray holding a teapot and two cups, steam curling softly into the air.

She bowed to both princes and set the tray on the table. Before she could pour, Rong Yue flicked his hand dismissively. She bowed again and retreated in silence.
