Digging deep traps was by no means such an easy task; it was necessary to first utilize sharp sickles to cut away the mass of tangled weeds and vines growing as high as half a person's height inside the moat's bed before anything else could be done.

Of course, this mass of weeds would certainly not be wasted or simply thrown away; after they had been completely dried in the sun, whether they were used to make soft, comfortable bedding for the slaves or used directly as firewood to kindle the furnace, they were all extremely good purposes.

Only after clearing out a large, clean, and empty space was it easy to use hoes to dig down along the position of the old moat bed where the soil was somewhat softer.

Although she was currently utilizing the shallow moat to place traps, Jasmine did not give up on her intention of restoring this water moat to its former state.
