After Jasmine finished arranging everything, she always felt as if she had forgotten something. It wasn't until her gaze swept to the corner of the wall and saw the baby Black Dragon curled up into a ball, snoring soundly, that she remembered him.
It lay snugly in a small rock niche sheltered from the wind, its long tail wrapped around its body like a blanket.
This couldn't be helped; even with torches lit, the light in the cave was still very dim, with shadows cast everywhere. When the baby Black Dragon closed its eyes, it was just a black lump blending into the darkness. Dragon scales didn't reflect light when it was motionless, so if one was slightly inattentive, they wouldn't notice the little guy.
