Chapter 70 - Chapter 70: Claiming Another Pair

Chapter 70: Claiming Another Pair

Ronin couldn't understand it.

Raymond held the highest status in the Mafia and commanded Nen users like the Shadow Beasts.

Why didn't he ever try to understand or learn this power himself?

If he had, he wouldn't have died without even knowing what killed him.

Ronin formed a cross seal. A Shadow Clone appeared and immediately transformed into Raymond.

The clone walked over to Raymond's corpse, took the gun from his holster, and casually shot the paralyzed Mole in the head to finish him off.

Meanwhile, the main body formed a seal and unleashed a Fireball Jutsu, incinerating Raymond's real body until it was unrecognizable.

"Take the body away," the clone ordered coldly, pointing at the charred remains of the "assassin" (Raymond) and the dead Mole. He then walked to the minibar and poured himself a cola.

The real Ronin, using Ultralight-Weight Rock Technique, flew out the window and headed for the hotel roof.

Kurapika and Neon were waiting there.

Kurapika wore an earpiece, staying in constant communication with the clone below.

"My Puppet Technique has a limited range. It's not as convenient as the Shadow Clone + Transformation combo," Ronin signaled 'OK' to Kurapika. "The only downside is the time limit. But once I get you two inside, taking control should be easy."

Moments later, Ronin brought Kurapika and Neon into Room 1801.

Raymond's word was law in his organization. No one dared question him.

Using Raymond's identity, coupled with Ronin's strength and Kurapika's intellect, seizing control of the gang was just a matter of time.

Ronin left the management entirely to Kurapika.

"I need some professional assistance," Kurapika said, pulling out a business card. The name on it was familiar: Miria, Golden Agent.

During his months of training, Ronin had secretly returned to Heavens Arena once to maintain his 200th-floor eligibility.

He won a match in two days and left before the hype could build, avoiding the Troupe's radar.

He had an agreement with Miria: If he ever controlled a Ten Don's organization, she would provide technical support.

Miria had immense influence at Heavens Arena. Her network of professionals could easily assist Kurapika in managing the Mafia's assets.

Ronin, now acting like a hands-off boss, sat on the sofa playing video games with Neon.

It was 5:30 PM. His training hours were over. It was relaxation time.

"By the way, there's another Underground Auction tomorrow night. And another pair of Scarlet Eyes is in the catalog. What's the plan?" Ronin asked while mashing buttons.

"Early transfer," Kurapika said calmly. "You'll need to take Owl with you."

"I helped too!" Neon bragged.

After taking over Raymond's position, Kurapika's first move was to give Neon the dossiers of several high-ranking Mafia members scheduled to attend tomorrow's auction.

Neon wrote prophecies for them.

Without exception, every prophecy predicted death if they attended the auction.

Using this as leverage, "Raymond" contacted the other Ten Dons and demanded the auction items be moved immediately for safekeeping.

"Now?" Ronin put down the controller and stood up.

"Yes. Bring back both pairs of eyes at once," Kurapika said.

The authority of a Ten Don was useful. "Raymond" had the clearance to seize the Scarlet Eyes directly, pulling them from the auction block entirely.

"Alright, I'm heading out." Ronin walked to the window.

"Be careful. The Troupe might be scouting the location early since the auction was hit last night," Kurapika warned. "Don't fly this time. I've arranged a car. Go with the Mafia convoy."

Ronin understood immediately.

Owl's ability hadn't been exposed yet.

If he disguised himself as Owl and entered the building, the Troupe wouldn't know the merchandise was being moved.

Tomorrow's auction would still be held at the Cemetery Building.

It was a provocation by the Ten Dons against the Phantom Troupe: Come and rob us again if you dare.

But no one knew that the real thief who looted the vault wasn't the Troupe—it was Ronin.

Ronin took the elevator to the underground parking lot. A car and a team of loyal Mafia enforcers were waiting.

The convoy drove smoothly into the Cemetery Building's parking garage.

Ronin transformed into Owl. He strutted into the high-security vault where the new batch of treasures had just been delivered.

Once inside, he released the real Owl from the pouch.

Using Puppet Technique, he forced Owl to conjure the Fun Fun Cloth.

With a sweep of the cloth, everything in the vault—except the two pairs of Scarlet Eyes—was shrunk and wrapped up.

Ronin pocketed the loot bundle and the Scarlet Eyes. Then, he wrapped Owl back up and put him in his ninja pouch.

He walked out empty-handed.

The guards outside the vault had no idea what happened inside.

All they knew was that Owl, the Shadow Beast, entered the vault for an inspection, then ordered it sealed until the auction began.

Outside the Cemetery Building, Shalnark, Kortopi, and Bonolenov were watching.

Bonolenov had infiltrated the building earlier, disguised as a worker, and placed several posters created by Kortopi on the walls.

These posters acted as En extensions for Kortopi.

He had placed them strategically near the vault.

However, as Ronin left the building, Kortopi frowned. He hadn't sensed anything unusual. The vault seemed secure.
