John didn't explain much; he led Alex into the church's external office and poured him a glass of water.

"What happened that's so urgent? Why are you looking for Wood and Hughes?"

Alex looked at him, drank the water in one gulp, and opened his mouth intending to speak about the case, but hesitated, not knowing where to start.

John turned his head to look at the schedule board:

"I know you care about the hand-chopping case. Wood and Hughes requested a carriage yesterday to go on a field mission to investigate clues; they haven't returned yet."

Alex recalled that the first time he came here, it was also this calm middle-aged man who led the way; he guessed the man in front of him also knew about the underground world and Extraordinary people.

"Is there anyone else who can handle this matter here? This involves human lives; it's very urgent." He asked quite cautiously, his eyes full of hope.

John understood Alex's meaning; he thought for a moment and then nodded:
