Muni gave them more targeted methods to improve energy manipulation skills, other than just cultivation. The most effective of which was practicing the usage of Metacs.
After his lecture, Muni allowed them to ask questions. Loki also asked a question because he had something important that he wanted to know.
He raised his hand and said, "How can we get the secret to advance our Core Metac to rank 2?"
Muni replied with an exasperated tone, saying, "Every Core Metac has a different method of advancement. You can either buy the method for advancement from the sect for 1,000 energy stones."
This price surprised Loki, so he exclaimed as he asked, "So cheap?"
His question made Muni sneer and said, "That's just for the advancement method. You will also need the materials to advance, and that can cost an extra 2,000 energy stones."
Loki still thought that the 3,000 energy stones for the rank 2 Core Metac were cheap, but he didn't say it. He kept his mouth shut so as not to anger Muni by calling thousands of energy stones cheap.
Muni ignored him and continued with his class. For the rest of the class, Loki behaved well and learned everything that he was supposed to learn like a good student. Then he went ahead to create trouble as soon as class finished.
The trouble he wanted to cause was also the most unlawful one. This trouble was that he was going to kill someone for something of theirs that he had his eyes on.
Ever since they were given Core Metacs, he has had his eyes on this other classmate of his who had been given the Telepathy Metac. This put her on the pathway of mind hunters as opposed to his pathway of forging.
There shouldn't have been any problems between them since they were on different pathways. But Loki still went after her to kill her.
He quickly killed her and devoured her new Core Metac. Then he reversed time even before Muni could come to punish him for his transgression.
After returning to the moment of awakening, the first thing he did was to check his state of existence using the Power Identification Ability.
Age: 19/77
Race: Human
Energy Quantity: 77 + 616 + 616 = 1,309 >> 77 + 616 +616 + 77 +77 = 1,463
Energy Density: 1(4)(4) >> 1(4)(4)(1)(1)
Energy Rank: 1
Body: 0.6.
Soul: 1.5
Will: 4.
Skill: 35% >> 36%.
Fenrir (Divine): Power Identification. Tracking. Seal. Devouring. Rewind. Sword Heart. Telepathy. Telekinesis.
The most important change to him is that he has gained two more energy chambers after devouring the Telekinesis Metac and the Telepathy Metac.
This made him nod and say, "Core Metacs are indeed what Fenrir wants to eat. I wonder what is so special about them that gives them so much more substance than Branch Metacs."
This development is a good thing for him as it means more energy to use. If what Muni said about the importance of the size of one's energy well is to the power of rank 2, cultivators, then having 5 energy chambers will be a great boon to him.
However, there is also some bad news with this development. The bad news is that he has reached his limit of how many Metacs he can devour.
Right now, he feels as if his energy well is on the brink of bursting. So this limit feels more like a bottleneck on his part.
He can feel that Fenrir itself hasn't reached its limit. It still has room to grow. But his energy well has reached its limit after being forced to contain four other energy chambers of an equal size.
This limit made him unhappy. But he couldn't complain about Fenrir. He could only blame his own weakness.
After the awakening, he went with the others to their accommodations. He didn't even glance at Slav or think about stalking anyone else. This was because he had reached the limit of his appetite. Anymore, and he would literally burst wide open.
So he behaved himself for the rest of the day and the following day. But when the market opened, and he got the opportunity to gamble, he went wild with reckless abandon.
He gambled until he won 80,000 energy stones. Then he went to buy Cloudy Date Metacs to increase the cultivation of his two new energy chambers.
He didn't need as many 80,000 energy stones for what he had in mind. 15,000 energy stones would be good enough for what he minds. But since he knew that the Rein Family wouldn't let him go for having this much money, he decided to go all out on winning.
The six Cloudy Date Metacs cost him a hefty 12,000 energy stones. This was because he didn't get any discount.
The shop manager said that he bought too few Cloudy Date Metacs and wasn't eligible for discounts. Loki didn't argue with him about this because he wasn't going to live long enough to spend the money.
So he quickly got what he wanted before he rushed over to the rank 2 mech pilot with whom he struck up a conversation the first time he came to the market.
When he got to the man, he said, "Can you tell me how to advance the Telekinesis Metac to rank 2?"
The man stopped what he was doing and gave Loki a once-over. Once he was done examining Loki, he furrowed his brows and said, "You don't look like a second-generation cultivator? You look more like a slave, so how did you find out about the Core Metac of the pathway of forging?"
Loki replied, "Does it matter how I found out about it?"
The man nodded and said, "You're right. It doesn't matter to me."
Then he returned to what he was doing on the workbench.
As he worked, he asked Loki, "But why should I tell you how to grow stronger?"
Loki took out a pouch and dangled it in front of him before saying, "I have money."
