Chapter 24 - Chapter 24: Child of Destiny! The Might of the Sharingan!

He even tried his hand at Earth Style, discovering that his dream-based techniques weren't any weaker just because he wasn't proficient with them in reality.

After Kawasaki had tested all his skills, the grand ninjutsu showdown he'd been hoping for never came. Instead, he was abruptly pulled out of the dream.

Elder Yohei still had genjutsu left to demonstrate.

Kawasaki selected it, and the process was familiar. [Building dream... Dream constructed. Uchiha Yohei - Genjutsu Edition].

Upon entering the dream, he was first met with a lecture on how to use and break genjutsu. The original owner of his body had been terrible at it, and even though Kawasaki quickly finished the lesson, he still felt disoriented.

However, Kawasaki's eyes were simply too powerful. When Yohei tried to cast a genjutsu on him, Kawasaki's ocular power directly repelled it. Once again, he was ejected from the illusion.

Kawasaki noticed that on the Faction list, the taijutsu, ninjutsu, and genjutsu icons under Uchiha Yohei's portrait had vanished, leaving only a "Combat" button.

Fired up, Kawasaki pressed it again.

[Building dream... Dream constructed. Uchiha Yohei - Combat]

He entered the dream once more, but this time it was a real, no-holds-barred sparring match.

It wasn't long before Kawasaki's eyes shot open again, his expression grim.

He hadn't expected the old man, Uchiha Yohei, to be so cunning and experienced. He'd set a trap with shuriken and paper bombs, and a moment's carelessness was all it took for Kawasaki to fall for it.

In the end, he only managed to win by relying on his Susanoo.

His actual combat skills were worse than he'd imagined. Opening Yohei's page again, he saw the Combat button was still there, just on cooldown. It seemed the combat simulations could be challenged repeatedly.

With this in mind, Kawasaki turned his attention to the Third Elder, Uchiha Takuya, and plunged into another dream.

As the morning sun streamed in, Kawasaki stared blankly at the ceiling. The time in the dreams synchronized with reality. After a full night of training, he felt mentally drained and utterly exhausted.

In all his efforts that night, the only one he'd managed to defeat was the elderly Yohei. He had also lost his combat simulation against the Third Elder, Takuya—though, to be fair, he hadn't used his Susanoo.

As for Fugaku, Shisui, and Itachi, they hadn't even given him a chance at a real fight. He lost to them during the taijutsu phase.

In the ninjutsu section, while there was no direct combat, making a mistake in practice would cause his chakra to run rampant, and one wrong move could have blown him to bits.

When it came to genjutsu, Kawasaki's aptitude was abysmal; he couldn't even understand many of the concepts. After numerous attempts, he finally had to accept that he was a complete novice in the art. His ocular prowess was strong, allowing him to break free from illusions in an instant, but his own technique for casting them was crude at best.

The only opponents he could reliably defeat were Uchiha masters with three-tomoe Sharingan, or those with two-tomoe like Uchiha Akihira.

Most of the elite Uchiha had no obvious weaknesses. In taijutsu, the fastest with a blade was Uchiha Yozuki, whose movements were like the wind—swift and ruthless, a stark contrast to his usually dazed demeanor.

Itachi was the most accurate with shuriken, employing techniques where projectiles ricocheted off one another to change direction, a skill requiring exceptional perception.

The best at genjutsu was, naturally, Shisui. Fighting against him, Kawasaki felt like a complete fool, falling under his control with a single glance. If it weren't for the power of his Mangekyo, he wouldn't have even had a chance to fight back.

After taking a beating all night, Kawasaki was completely spent. Looking at the Faction list, he saw that nearly everyone's dream simulation had entered a cooldown period. He closed his eyes, and this time, he truly fell asleep.

When Kawasaki awoke, he headed straight for the training grounds to stretch his muscles before diving back into his dream simulations. This became his daily routine: training ground, then sleep. Sometimes, other Uchiha would see him at the training grounds, but he would only do some light exercises before leaving. Even so, his taijutsu and ninjutsu were enough to leave everyone present in awe.

Through this highly efficient training of dream-based combat, Kawasaki's skills improved at a rapid pace. He was now like a battle-hardened veteran, no longer the Jonin who had to fight for his life on every routine mission.

However, he couldn't learn the unique abilities of other Mangekyo Sharingan, and his own Mangekyo showed no signs of awakening any new powers.

Kawasaki wasn't worried; he would wait patiently. The power of three different Mangekyo Sharingan had been infused into his eyes, making his ocular prowess exceptionally potent and constantly growing stronger. Even if he did nothing, he was continuously improving, not to mention sparring with Fugaku, Shisui, and Itachi in his dreams every night.

Kawasaki had just begun to enjoy a few days of peace when Fugaku cornered him, insisting that he take Sasuke on as his student. Due to the uncertain situation, Fugaku had originally planned to send Sasuke out of the village, but Kawasaki had stopped him.

Kawasaki's reasoning was that the ninja world was currently filled with too many ambitious individuals. Unless Sasuke had a Mangekyo Sharingan to protect him, he would be in even greater danger alone outside the village.

It was a joke, of course. If Sasuke wasn't in Konoha, how could he form his bond with Naruto? How could they grow together, suffer setbacks, and grow again and again?

But this was just a strategic move on Kawasaki's part.

Although both Sasuke and Naruto were Children of Destiny, the reincarnations of Indra and Asura's chakra respectively, Sasuke's talent was questionable. He only awakened a one-tomoe Sharingan when his entire clan was massacred. Yet, after spending a year with Naruto, he managed to reach three-tomoe. The progression from two to three-tomoe was all tied to Naruto.

Only by being Naruto's teammate or rival could he improve so quickly.

According to the original timeline, Sasuke should have awakened his Mangekyo Sharingan long ago, fought a battle of equals against Itachi, and ultimately fallen at his brother's hands.

Only then could the hatred in Sasuke's heart be resolved, helping him achieve the Eternal Mangekyo Sharingan.

But when Sasuke finally faced him, he had a pitiful three-tomoe Sharingan.

For Itachi, that battle against Sasuke was probably the most difficult of his life. He had to meticulously calculate Sasuke's chakra, his own chakra, his remaining lifespan, and his visual prowess, all without letting Sasuke notice.

His skill at holding back had reached a masterful level.

Sasuke had lived a difficult life. His clan was annihilated when he was a child, and his own brother deceived him, forcing him to live with a false hatred.

Little Sasuke never questioned if any of it made sense. Why did Konoha have no reaction to the Uchiha clan's massacre? What were the Anbu doing?

With no one to guide him, his personality became extremely unstable after the massacre, a mix of pride and insecurity. After gaining more power, he became confident and arrogant. Every power-up made him conceited, and once he got his Mangekyo, he thought he was invincible.

He always had a habit of skipping levels to challenge the final boss. With a three-tomoe Sharingan, he dared to face a Mangekyo. With a Mangekyo, he went up against the Eight-Tails. And with an Eternal Mangekyo, he tried to take on the Rinnegan.

Each impulsive decision resulted in a sound beating.

How many years did Itachi spend training his Mangekyo Sharingan? And Sasuke? From the moment he awakened his until his vision started to fade, it was less than a month.

The actual time he spent using it could be counted on one hand—less than an hour. Did the power of the Sharingan warp one's personality, making them eager to fight anyone they met without mercy?

In the end, when he sealed Kaguya alongside Naruto, Kawasaki felt that luck had played too great a role in his journey.

Fortunately, none of that had happened. Sasuke wouldn't have to endure those hardships, and Kawasaki didn't need to place all his hopes on Sasuke's shoulders alone.

After all, Itachi was still here.

Itachi was an incredibly fast learner. His skills with kunai and shuriken far surpassed his peers, and the speed of his hand seals was astonishing. In battle, he was adept at turning an opponent's momentum against them, controlling the flow of the fight. After joining the Anbu, his power grew even faster than Kakashi's, who was hailed as a genius. By the time he defected from the village, he was already at the level of a Kage.

His genjutsu was particularly outstanding. A single glance could repel an attack from Konoha's genjutsu expert, Kurenai Yuhi, and one Tsukuyomi instantly defeated Kakashi. Even one of the legendary Sannin, Orochimaru, couldn't escape his illusions and was left completely paralyzed.

His personality was calm and composed, allowing him to remain level-headed in any situation. He could quickly analyze an enemy's weaknesses in battle, possessed sharp judgment, and always knew the key to turning the tide.

If he could grow up healthy, his stability would likely surpass Sasuke's. The only downside was his poor physical condition, which was why Kawasaki had arranged for him to go to the Land of Rice Paddies.

Shisui had also made a name for himself at a young age, awakening his Mangekyo Sharingan even earlier and faster than Sasuke. His mastery of genjutsu surpassed even Itachi's, and he was exceptionally agile. Aside from the absurdly strong ninja from the Hidden Cloud and the one who controlled space-time ninjutsu, almost no one could match his speed.

If he hadn't died so young, his achievements in the original world would have been immeasurable. For this reason, Kawasaki also considered him a key individual to cultivate.

Given all this, Kawasaki was less invested in Sasuke's training. With Itachi and Shisui present, Sasuke could be at ease.

However, with Fugaku personally coming to ask for help, it would be rude for Kawasaki to refuse again. After all, even with the system's help, he still had to make all the decisions himself, and Fugaku's unwavering support had been crucial to things progressing so smoothly.

Sasuke was the reincarnation of Indra, but right now, he was just a child. Kawasaki wanted to see if he could salvage the boy's future. If Sasuke could become more level-headed, he would undoubtedly be a powerful asset.

Sasuke had just been brought back to the village, only to find that his clan had undergone a seismic shift in his absence. His respected big brother, Shisui, had one of his eyes stolen. The clan had appointed a Vice-Patriarch. His idolized older brother, Itachi, had fled the village, taking many Uchiha clansmen with him.

His own house had been destroyed, reduced to a pile of rubble, though thankfully his father and mother were safe.

His five-year-old mind couldn't comprehend any of these sudden events. He walked alone through the streets, dejected, but still tried to maintain his cool demeanor.

After all, he was an Uchiha!

The villagers who saw him had complex expressions, but most looked at him with kindness. He was just a child, and his family had just suffered a terrible blow. To the common person, these events signaled the beginning of a prominent clan's downfall.

Sasuke didn't understand the meaning behind their gazes, but he felt a deep sense of displeasure. He quickened his pace, unconsciously heading toward the small grove he often visited.

Before he even got close, he heard the sounds of children shouting and cursing.

"Get away! You fox demon, who wants to play with you!"

"You just wait! I'm gonna be Hokage one day!"

"Hahahahaha! You, become Hokage?"

"It's because of you, you fox demon! My dad is dead!"

"Get him!"

"Beat him up!"

Sasuke pushed through the trees and saw several children in a brawl. A few kids were pinning Naruto Uzumaki to the ground, beating him. Tears streamed down Naruto's face, but he refused to give up, struggling relentlessly.

"Hey! Who said you could bully someone like that!" Sasuke stepped out from the trees.

"Who are you?!"

"This is none of your business!"

Sasuke stuffed his hands in his pockets. "I'm Sasuke Uchiha! Let him go, now. Or you'll regret it."
