I run down the stairs because the elevators won't fucking work. My lungs burnt as I ran from the eight floor, I could even feel my legs shake. My throat was dry and each breath felt like I was being stabbed with a broken glass.
I smiled faintly as I stared at the last set of stairs.
'I made it,' I almost kept with joy as I turned to see if I was being followed but as usual, I was met with quiet.
I descended the last flight of stairs, my joy completely vanishing as I slammed into something hard that caused me to loose balance.
Terror iced my veins as the familiar manly scent hit my nostrils. My heart hammered loudly against my chest, I'm sure he could hear it from where he was standing.
I instinctively stood up and tried to make a run for it but pain shot through my scalp before I felt myself being yanked to the ground.
My cry echoed through the hall as my head collided with the hard floor.
Two steps.
That's all it took for him to be standing in front of me.
He bent down and held my chin harshly, I'm sure there'll be a bruise when he let's go.
"Let me go!" My voice broke, raw and ugly .
"I told you not to run," he said quietly, it almost sounded like he was disappointed.
I felt his grip tighten and I was sure he was going to crush my jaws if he exerted any more force.
"I just want to go home," I whimpered.
"Home?" His voice sounded mocking. "You have no home. Well not anymore."
The words hollowed me out.
He forced me to look at him. His beautiful, cold eyes.
"You really think I'd let you go?" He asked.
"My….you….you….killed my parents. " I whispered, shaking.
Hi eyes didn't flicker.
"They sold you," he corrected. "Then they ran."
"You're lying," I sobbed.
"Am I?" He murmured, studying me like a puzzle. "They owed me lots of money and you were their payment."
"Please….." I sobbed. "I'll pay back everything they owe. I just want to go home."
He was quiet for a long time and I actually thought he was considering letting me go.
Then his lips curved up in the most evil smile I've ever seen.
"Well that's unfortunate…." He shrugged, leaning in and whispering into my ears.
"You're never leaving."
