Chapter 26 - Chapter 26: A Bit Of Gossip 2

Amabel felt grateful about Berth's warning, even though she wasn't planning on using Daphne. She just wanted to make more friends, she could talk to and spend time with without worry of being backstabbed.

Either way, it was warming to have someone looking out for her.

"Thanks for the heads up. We don't have such thoughts, so I guess that we are safe."

Berth beamed at them as she nodded, "Let us keep it that way."

Since the warning has been passed, Berth and the other nieces changed the topic and found something else to talk about, and this time, it revolved around the nieces' circle gossip and it was quite interesting to listen to.

While engrossed in such gossip, Daphne who had managed to extricate herself from the enthusiastic ladies made her way towards Amabel and Beatrix.

Seeing their eyes lit up as they chatted animatedly, she couldn't help but chuckle as she thought to herself, 'they are still children at heart,' recalling the two's ages.

The two friends sported Daphne coming over and knowing what was being talked about, they excused themselves from the group of nieces to meet her halfway.

"You seem to be enjoying yourselves!" Daphne teased her younger friends, who chuckled in return saying, "just some gossip for the girls. Their circles are very entertaining."

When Daphne heard that, she chuckled heartily as she thought about the hilarious things these young ladies and men were always up to.

"You can never go upset if you follow what those kids are up to."

"Indeed, it's quite interesting. It reminds me of my classmates," Amabel chucklingly said and shared about the celebration party she was envied to and both ladies were interested in the juicy gossip.

"I will share with you the drama when I return," Amabel could only helplessly promise after seeing the two eager faces.

Daphne promised to dress her for the party, and Beatrix's chance would be left for another time.

The three good friends happily chatted, and had a great time at the tea party.

Luckily, there was no such thing as those boring speeches. People just enjoyed themselves, ate their snacks and drank their tea while networking.

It was a one-of-a-kind tea party, quite entertaining and much better than they both thought.

As they were about to leave, walking towards the parking lot, since they have had their own share of fun, Amabel's phone started ringing.

Her new phone had a few numbers in it.

Valentine's, her mother's, the doctor's, Beatrix's, Marjorie and now Daphne.

She was already with her two friends, and her mother was not in a state where she could actually contact her, thus leaving a few people.

Nevertheless, every single call was very important, she hurriedly fished her phone from her bag, and when she saw the caller, a smile formed on her face, earning her a round of teasing from the two.

"Oho, is brother-in-law, already calling? You played outside for long?" Beatrix teased and Daphne chuckled as she watched that.

Amabel rolled her eyes at Beatrix and put her finger on her mouth, gesturing Beatrix not to cause any trouble before answering the phone, "Hubby, you miss me?" she coquettishly asked, making Daphne who didn't expect to witness such become curious about who this young friend was seeing.

[I miss you always. Are you done?]

"Yep, on our way out now," she truthfully responded and recalling what she had done earlier, felt her cheeks flushing.

[Good. I am coming over. I will take you out for dinner and stay out. So be prepared,] he informed her and her eye slit up.

That would be the first time that they would actually go out together. They have been together for a week and most of the time was spent indoors, fucking. Not that she minded it.

However, with her feelings budding for him, though she knew how dangerous it was, considering the fact that one day he might get tired of her and find someone else. She was happy to be able to go on a date with him.

The fact that he was actually taking her outside, meant that she matters to him in some ways, right?

She was hopeful.

"Sure, I will prepare everything before you come. I will be waiting for you," she happily told him, unable to hide her excitement.

[Good and have those strings packed as well ... I will buy more in the future,] his sexy voice drawled the words, making her body tingle with excitement at the thought of what will be happening later that night.

She shyly responded, "I will pack them all."

[That's my girl. Talk to you later, okay!]

"Um, later."

The call ended, and the redness of her skin didn't fade making the two other ladies to look at her knowingly.

Seeing their gazes, Amabel became shier and trotted away, making the two to follow as they laughed heartily.

How could she be so shy and funny?

Nevertheless, Daphne's curiosity for who Amabel was seeing was very high, but she understood that asking about it now, after meeting for a few hours wouldn't be quite good.

She should rein in the curiosity and slowly work the matter up until Amabel could naturally talk to her about it.

She could just look into it, but what would be the fun of making friends when she had to look into everyone that she meets?

Not knowing how she would regret this very moment in the future when she finally sees the boyfriend. If only she had looked into the matter, perhaps, she might have done something, or was it already too late for anything?

Anyway, that will be the trouble for the future.

Back to the present, once they reached the cars, the three friends promised to meet each other, but the appointment will have to wait until Amabel was clear.

They were all adults and didn't need any further details to understand what that meant.

Once they have sorted that out, they bade each other farewell and went their separate ways.

With Amabel and Beatrix scheming on what Amabel had to bring for this night out, Daphne was busy on a call and the conversation didn't sound pleasant at all.
