Chapter 3 - The World Without A God

"Gods usually never try to ascend to a higher realm unless they are certain of reaching it. And even if they do fail, it only ever results in their power being drained and all of their current worlds being destroyed. Never has there been a case of a God dying mid-ascension. This world, though, seemed as if it would even have undergone a completely normal transformation, obviously, had it not been for you," the man explained. "Well enough with the chitchat, it's not like you'll be able to grasp these divine phenomena anyway," the man said.

The man slipped his hand into the right pocket of his pants and seemed to have taken something out. But Bob had no way of knowing what it was, due to the object being completely hidden beneath the man's closed fist. To Bob, it appeared, in one moment, the man was going to open his fist, display the item, but in the next, all his actions stopped. A frown developed on the man's face; his pupils seemed to have disappeared from his eyes. His expression only turned uglier henceforth. The sight, even with the divine aura from the man, which gave Bob the idea of this guy being an angel or a god, still scared him to the very core. The man's pupils returned in around 30 seconds, but that didn't help in his expression getting any less serious.

But looking at Bob, the man managed to gather a smile. He opened his closed fist, revealing a thin bracelet, made out of lustrous white pearls and one emerald bead. The bracelet, though it looked costly, appeared quite ordinary. It gave off neither any radiance nor the look of something divine. " Consider it an advance gift, for if you ever turn into a powerhouse. Currently, I am required elsewhere, so I'll be going, but I hope that we meet again someday, and you'll be a lot stronger then," the man finished, handing the bracelet to Bob. Bob had just begun to look at the bracelet when " Goodbye" the man bid his farewell.

But Bob had no time to process it, as the moment the man said goodbye, Bob found himself in the same situation, with his vision turning dark and him being teleported somewhere else. But this time, he was teleported to a place very familiar to him, his own house on the same ground he had fainted on earlier.

The house, though, was completely fine. It was not yet destroyed by the terrifying force of his Belane power. Bob had a very strong urge to not stand up and look outside the window. He hoped that all of these events, the people turning into monsters, his interaction with the man and whatnot would just be a result of some concussion or something he got from falling on the ground. But the feeling of the bracelet within his hands destroyed all his hopes.

He had no idea what to do. He indeed knew what was going to happen in a few minutes; he knew he had a strange power which he wouldn't be able to control and would cause half the world to end. But he had no solution to any of these problems. Maybe the only thing he could do was protect some food and water, save it somehow and then travel half the world, surviving on that food until he reaches any sign of the non-barren parts of the world. No, he obviously knew that was a foolish idea; he'd never be able to save enough food to last a journey of half the world. Maybe he was supposed to just take one last look at his house, and when he faints, and his Belane power destroys half the world, he can just try to travel half the world with no food and water.

He wanted to cuss the man as much as he could. What was the purpose of showing him all this if he couldn't offer any solutions on how to prevent the belane power from destroying the world? He was about to throw the bracelet on the floor in frustration when his thumb slid on the emerald, and the seemingly normal piece of jewellery glowed with a green brilliance only visible to Bob.

(In a location several light-years away)

A green radiance erupted, illuminating the ruins of a galaxy. The figure of the same man Bob was just cussing, emerged as the radiance emitted from his body dimmed down a bit. The man, though he had the same silver hair and the starry green eyes, was now wearing a dark Green Battle armour with Golden runes on it. His ears no longer resembled a human's but were long and pointed like those of an elf.

"How can you still be alive?" He voiced in a heavy tone, looking at the empty space in front of him. "Why wouldn't I be?" a soft voice responded. A majestic planet-sized beast with the body of a horse, skin darker than the void, mane seemingly made out of lightning itself and large eagle-like wings manifested in the empty space the man was looking at. A humanoid figure, inconspicuous to the eye compared to the humongous beast, but with a presence no less overwhelming, mounted on it.

The beast grew smaller until it appeared just slightly bigger than an elephant. The humanoid figure mounting it was now clearly visible. The person had long, lush, water-like blue hair. Electricity danced around her body. Her appearance did not pale in comparison to the green-haired man, her blue eyes seemed to glow with the same purple hue as Bob's belane power. She wore a black toga which seemed to camouflage with the color of her mount.

"Hello, Elias", the woman replied, with a soft smile on her face. "No, you should be dead", the man Elias repeated, with dread filling his heart. "I saw my lord killing you with my own eyes; your entire Belane power was finished, your soul itself was severed. There should be no way for you to survive," Elias said, looking at the lady as if she were doom itself.

"Don't worry, little Elias, I am not here to kill you. As for your earlier question, why am I alive? Let's see, maybe it's because your pitiful lord's too weak to kill me" the lady said, her soft smile turning into a playful one..

"Don't you dare speak about my lord", Elias shouted, even though his entire body was trembling with fear. "So Ellington's little dog does know how to bark", the lady commented. Elias could no longer take it. His right hand glowed with a bright light and a golden sword manifested in his hands. He muttered some sort of chanting which seemed to have made gales of wind, incredibly small but with the power of several worlds, surround the sword. He thrusted the sword towards the lady in one heavy attack. All of this took place in less than one nanosecond, but it was still not swift enough to catch the lady off guard.

All it took was one look from her to petrify Elias mid-attack. "Even in this state, it would take a lot more than just one of Elington's servants to defeat me. Perhaps if your sister Elia were here today, your combined form could have given me a good fight before you both met your demise, but you alone, my Thalassor, would be enough," she said, looking at her beast when she said the final sentence.

She clicked her fingers, releasing Elias from the petrified state. "Bare your fangs at me again, Ellington's dog, and I won't be so kind", she said, this time in a serious tone with her smile replaced by a grim expression and her eyes locked in with Elias. "So what is that you need from me for which you won't take the chance to kill me, one of my lord's pupil?" Elias asked the lady. "Hmm, let me see, what is it that you could do for me?" The lady said with the smile returning on her face. "Ah, there it is- I want you to communicate some very important things to your lord," the lady said in a childish tone. "And what would that be?"

Elias inquired, "You see, I, The Supreme Primordial of Dark, Lightning, and Water, The killer of dimensions, Astrael Tenebrae would like to make this formal request to your lord, The Supreme God of wind and light, the conqueror of all dimensions, ELLINGTON ZEPHYRUS to take care of my mount Thalasor, the eater of universes, the one born from lightning, darkness and water, the God killer for the next billion years." her reply invoked a divine power. Wind and light energy, the size of several galaxies enveloped them and began to move violently. Both Astrael and Elias silently observed the process the entire time, until a cosmic chime echoed and the winds calmed as if approving Astrael's request.

"So you want me to take the God killer to my lord, since now you've received my lord's approval, I definitely would, but if I could please ask, why?" Elias asked. "Well, little Elias, your lord has always been good with beasts. He takes good care of his Aetherion. I assume he can take good care of Thalasor. And secondly, I am going to die today"
