Chapter 39 - Ch 39: Half-Dragon Boss - Part 1

[Invulnerability (Special) has been added to your skill set.]

Andrew had no time to look at his system or his stats as he continued to fight against the monsters coming at him.

He was already nearly half way done and it had only been an hour.

As the system had said, the monsters had gotten a little stronger, but it was not to a point where humans won't be able to take care of them.

"Ugh, this is a little harder now."

Lilianna complained as she started to struggle. Since she was a support, she did not have a lot of ways to kill the monsters.

So Andrew decided to leave monsters for her to pick off so that she won't be left behind.

Clara, on the other hand, was doing a lot better. Her incredibly high strength made the mace in her hand a deadly weapon. It had been purchased through the system so it was highly durable as a weapon.

Chaos erupted all around, and people tried their best to fight and kill as much as possible. But no one was faster than Andrew when it came to killing.

He paused as soon as he hit 80 to help Clara and Lilianna catch up as well.

The half-dragon sitting in the sky immediately frowned at his actions and started to complain.

"Hey, that is not allowed. You are all required to hunt on your own. Helping others is a breach of the game rules."

Andrew decided to reply to her.

"But the system rules do not say anything about it."

He knew he was enraging the half-dragon and that was for a good reason. He wanted her to lose her reason and when it came time for Andrew to choose the boss he wanted to fight, he would be able to choose her.

"Ugh, you will regret this, human. Don't go thinking that you can make a fool out of me and I won't notice."

The female raged as she looked down. But other than that, she did not do much. Or rather, she could not do much with her limited access to the game.

He quickly hit the 100 mark along with Clara and Lilianna hit it just minutes after. They were the first ones to hit this mark.

The half-dragon did not look happy to see this, so she just gritted her teeth and clapped her hands.

"Congratulations on coming first once again. You can choose the boss you want to fight now."

She told Andrew but instead of going through the system, he just looked at her.

"I want to fight you as a boss. How do I select you through the system?"

Andrew asked and the half-dragon let out a startled laugh.

"What an amusing thing to say. I did not realize that you were suicidal like that. But I guess I should have expected that from you."

The female told Andrew before she uncrossed her legs and stood up.

"If you want to fight me, then I won't say no to you. But what a shame. Humanity will lose a good warrior just because he was too stupid to know what his limit was."

The female half-dragon landed softly on her feet before she waved her hand.

"There, you can now select me as the boss."

Andrew looked at the system screen where the half-dragon had been added to the boss's side. She was a level 100 boss…or so the system said.

And she looked impossible to take down at first glance…

But the system was not unreasonable. It would never pit people who just reached level 20 against someone who was level 100. At least, not where they were supposed to have a fair fight.

"Andrew, are you sure about this? We are too underleveled."

Clara asked in a worried voice. Lilianna also tightened her grip on her gun as she looked at the system screen.

"Don't worry about it. For now, just choose the half-dragon as the final boss."

Andrew told the other two and they chose the half-dragon.

The space around them got distorted and when it stabilized, Andrew was in another area with Clara and Lilianna. But they were not the only ones in that arena. There was another surprise waiting for them.

"You…! What are you doing here?"

Emperor asked as he readied his sword.

"That should be our line. We just argued with the half-dragon to have her be added as a boss. How are you here?"

Clara asked and Emperor's eyes lit up in understanding.

"Ah, so you are the one who made this possible? I should have guessed…"

Understanding flashed across Emperor's eyes as he looked at the other party. He had selected the half-dragon as his target as soon as it had been made available.

He had been shocked and delighted when it had happened, but now he knew that it was something that had been made possible because of Andrew.

'Mark Dawson never lived past the first few games in any of my previous lives. Is his presence that important that it is changing so much? I will have to keep an eye on him…'

The world around them shook before the ground opened up and the half-dragon stepped into the arena. She picked up her spear and aimed it at the people in front of her.

"Tsk, I will make you regret challenging me to this fight. Let me show you how much of a difference is there between you and me…what is going on?"

The half-dragon asked as chains suddenly appeared and wrapped themselves around her arms. Her strength was immediately sapped out of her body and she looked startled.

"Hey, human, what did you do? How dare you try and play tricks on me…"

The half-dragon raged as she looked in front of her and tried to break the chains apart.

"What's wrong? Nothing is wrong. And I did not do anything either. It's just the system's way of balancing things out. What…? Did you really expect to come at low-level players with your whole strength? Be reasonable…"

Andrew taunted, causing the half-dragon to get even angrier. And the angrier she got, the tighter the chains around her became.
