Chapter 12 - White's disguise.

White smiled as he stepped down. He carefully and flawlessly bent in towards the crowd, continuing to follow General Nyton as they blended in. A vendor was carrying a stand on his shoulder — the stand had a couple of things hanging from it. He went there as he left the vendor's stand. His white clothes were covered by a loose cloth and loose pants, and he also wore a brown hat that was stitched so badly you could see where it began.

As they continued to walk, they passed countless structures and places. After a couple of minutes of White following General Nyton, they finally reached a dead end.

White stopped for quite a while, staying in one of the houses nearby.

It's a dead end...

General Nyton went to the left, and White continued to walk as others passing by also went left.

There he saw it: in one of the massive stones blocking the way — what seemed like a dead end — was a massive platform covered with metal and wires. A machine seemed to fly and carry civilians towards the end of the stone. He looked closely and saw it was being operated by a man inside.

He watched General Nyton get in and thought:

I should go in after him... Although I might lose him since this is my first time here.

White decided to risk it. He walked hurriedly, waving up at the man controlling the platform inside. The man waited as he got in, and he ended up beside General Nyton — though the general didn't even bother to look at him.

He seems free.

General Nyton had his eyes closed, staying quiet. As the platform began to rise, he looked to his left and sniffed.

I'm smelling a familiar scent...

A few minutes passed, and the platform finally reached the top. As people started to get out, White stepped outside last — despite being in the front — by wiping his clothes to buy time.

As everyone got out, he stepped forward and saw massive buildings bigger than those in the nation's main city.

Wow...

White looked around and saw a building where people carried massive glasses that seemed to be filled with a yellow substance. Another building — where most of the people from the platform went — had a massive H sign outside, along with a few civilians and people wearing white coats.

A hospital? White thought, observing his surroundings.

He continued to follow General Nyton as they walked past massive structures. After a few minutes, the general arrived at a place different from the others — its design was unique, with no metal, just glass all around, and multiple floors visible from the outside.

Outside stood a couple of men wearing brown sleeveless shirts (cut through the middle) and loose pants. General Nyton arrived and showed something he'd pulled from his pocket.

Guards?

As White hid behind him, a drunk man walked by in a zigzag. He quickly grabbed the collar of the man's suit, covering the man's mouth with his other hand, and pulled him into an alley. White used his hands to knock out the drunk guy, targeting the man's neck.

After a few minutes, he wore the man's suit, wiping off a bit of dirt.

I look good now... Although I still can't enter from the main entrance... I should look around.

White walked to the back of the structure. He phased through the wall — not fully, just enough to fit his eyes through.

What's with that smoky, hot feeling... His pupil peeked through, and he looked down to see a pan cooking.

A kitchen?

The man who was cooking looked at him, eye to eye.

"AHHHHHH!" the man screamed aggressively.

White quickly pulled back from the wall, keeping his closed eyes wiped.

Goddamn, that's hot... Man, I feel so hot...

After checking around a few more times, he finally found a spot good enough to phase through.

A freezer...

It's so cold in here... Didn't know a freezer could exist in a desert biome country.

White phased through the thick metal door and walked around the kitchen. He smelled himself.

Fuck, I smell like shit...

As he caught the scent, he heard footsteps coming from the left.

Tsk.

White quickly slouched his back, lowering himself and walking in a zigzag. A man appeared from the left.

The fuck?

"Uhm, sir — what are you doing here?" the man asked as he came closer.

Agh, fucked — this fucker is drunk!

"Ah... I'm finding the restroom..." White said.

"This isn't the way, sir. Let me help you!" the man replied, helping White walk properly.

Fuck, now I'll also smell like shit!

As they walked through the kitchen together, the man had other guys help White toward the restroom.

"What happened to that guy?"

"Just usual rich bastards getting wasted."

As the staff led him to the restroom, they walked through the lobby — and White saw General Nyton talking to a front desk lady.

"Ah, I think I'm good now!" he said in a slurred tone.

"You can leave me here — I found my friend, haha..." he said awkwardly.

"Oh, o-okay..." the staff replied, quickly leaving him.

White grabbed his necktie and fixed it.
