Chapter 66 - Chapter 66: The Bodyguard

The next morning, sunlight streamed into the living room.

Yi Chen emerged from the guest room refreshed, stretching and yawning.

He immediately noticed Ganyu sitting stiffly on the sofa, hands neatly placed on her knees, eyes drifting nervously—clearly restless.

"Morning, Ganyu!"

Yi Chen greeted cheerfully.

"Let's go. Time for work."

Ganyu snapped her head up and scrutinized his expression.

Relaxed. Natural. Even satisfied after a good night's sleep.

No suspicion. No accusation.

Carefully, she tested the waters.

"G-good morning… Yi Chen. How did you sleep last night? Did you… feel uncomfortable anywhere?"

Yi Chen tilted his head and thought seriously, then broke into a bright smile.

"Super well! Couldn't be better!"

He gestured animatedly.

"It was like—hmm—getting knocked unconscious! Slept straight through till morning, no dreams at all! Felt amazing!"

Ganyu froze.

K-knocked unconscious?!

Does he remember?! Is this a hint?!

Her heart nearly stopped.

But before panic could explode, Yi Chen continued cheerfully:

"Didn't expect your sofa to have such great sleep quality! If I can't sleep in the future, I'll just sleep there! Come on, we'll be late!"

He headed toward the door, even urging her along.

Ganyu stared at his carefree back.

…He didn't notice.

He blamed the sofa.

Relief crashed over her like a tidal wave.

She clenched her small fist silently in victory.

Success! He didn't find out!

Adjusting herself quickly, she followed him, calm once more.

On the way to Yuehai Pavilion, Yi Chen stopped at his usual breakfast stall and bought three steaming portions of buns.

One for Keqing.

One for Ganyu.

Near the Pavilion, he suddenly stopped and handed Ganyu her portion.

"Here. You go in first."

"I'll wait here for Lady Keqing. Once I finish confessing, I'll come find you."

He said it as if blocking the Pavilion entrance for daily confessions were official procedure.

Ganyu took the warm buns, her heart sinking again.

…He's doing it again.

She sighed softly.

"…Alright. Just… watch your boundaries."

"Don't worry! I'm experienced!"

Yi Chen flashed an "all good" gesture.

Ganyu walked inside, conflicted.

Yi Chen stood like a guard post, buns in hand, eyes bright, waiting eagerly.

Soon, Keqing appeared.

Seeing him, she walked over calmly.

"Good morning, Yi Chen."

He immediately handed her the buns.

"I like you."

Keqing took them naturally.

"Mm. I refuse."

Then—unexpectedly—she paused and asked:

"Are you free this morning?"

"Yes. Why?"

She took another bite.

"Come with me to check the Fatui outpost. They've been acting strange again."

Yi Chen's eyes lit up.

"Of course! I'll keep things under control!"

Then—hesitantly—

"Uh… can I… sneak in a few confessions while we're there? Won't interfere!"

Keqing laughed.

"As long as you don't confess at the negotiation table."

"Deal!"

"Alright. If things go well, lunch is on me."

Yi Chen saluted enthusiastically.

Thus, under the now-familiar gazes of Yuehai Pavilion staff, Keqing departed—accompanied by her ever-confessing, newly appointed bodyguard.
