Chapter 3 - Looney Tunes

Elle adjusted the thick rimmed glasses on her nose and smiled cordially at the bank teller.

"Now I understand you're trying to withdraw this much from your account," the pretty brunette woman seated behind the counter slid over a paper with a pen towards Elle, "if you could just sign right here on the dotted line and provide a form of identification, and anything at all would do Miss Woodsworth."

"Of course."

Fishing into her brown tote bag, Elle pulled out a thick purse and ran her finger over the various cards placed haphazardly inside, cursing herself for not uncluttering it like she planned on doing early.

You'd think living for over a hundred years would motivate someone to keep their documents in order but she was an unorganized hoarder when it came to ID cards.

She skimmed through the names, pushing her heavy glasses back onto her small nose.

Debra Whittmore.

Alison Dale.

'Fuck why didn't I remember to unclutter my purse before coming here? Oh, that's right, I woke up and just decided on a whim to get my life in order without checking if I emptied out my cards.'

Liana Black.

Ben Dover.

She snorted at the internal joke; she had posed as a man from 2004-2007 and no one even raised an eyebrow at her; assuming she was just a really pretty boy or secretly gay. Needless to say she didn't risk giving it another shot, regardless if it was fun or not.

The bank teller cleared her throat impatiently, giving Elle a tight lipped smile. Her name tag read, Nora.

Elle flashed her an apologetic smile, "Sorry, Nora, I just have so many things in my purse, I think I got it though."

"Take your time," Nora said tensely. Her professional smile did not cease even the slightest bit.

'Damn, give this woman employee of the month.'

Elle dove back into her purse, pushing past a stack of faded cards and rifling through the newer ones. She had to change her identity every 5 years or lesser.

Serah Rian.

Krystal Moore.

Jessica Harper.

She felt a tap on her shoulder and turned. An elderly man with a red face and a bulbous nose dotted with liver spots glared at her.

"Hurry up will ya? I could drop dead any minute now girly." He grumbled.

"I'm sorry sir, please wait just a moment." Nora apologized from behind the counter.

Her calm, civil tone worked like a charm because he smiled at her as if she were his granddaughter and stepped back.

Nora shifted her cool gaze to Elle and in a monotone she said, "Ma'am if you don't have any form of identification I'm sorry but I'm gonna ask you to step aside-"

"Almost got it," Elle said briskly, yanking out five new cards and shifting through them faster.

Brianna-

Molly-

Sophie Woodsworth. Driver's License.

She winced at the morbid picture of herself in dark thick rimmed glasses over violet eyes.

She sighed in relief. "Found it-"

"EVERYBODY GET THE FUCK ON THE GROUND!" A deep voice roared.

His voice bounced off the walls in the bank lobby followed by deafening shots fired into the ceiling, shattering the center chandelier into hundreds of clattering pieces as the shards fell in a discord. A clamor of screams, throwing the former quiet bank into a roaring upheaval of chaos.

'Just my rotten luck.'

Elle groaned in annoyance and spun around to find two other large men in animal masks slam through the doors, one slim shorter man in a racoon and the other a tapig; another one was in the center of the room wearing a bunny mask and holding an M16 rifle towards the shattered chandelier in the ceiling. Smoke wafted from the tip, having been shot just mere moments ago.

We're gonna call them by their masks; Bunny, Pig and Raccoon.

The five bank tellers behind the counter dived down, the one closest to the entrance pleaded with everyone to get down before the butt of an assault rifle slammed into his back, knocking him out cold.

"HANDS DOWN ASS UP!" Racoon yelled, waving his semi-automatic rifle around deliriously.

'Say what now?'

Everyone cowering around them turned to him, even one of the workers behind the counter paused from reaching the Alarm button. Bunny released a loud deflated sigh.

"What?" Racoon uttered in a defensive tone.

"Reggie what the fuck man stop embarrassing us." The Pig hissed in a low voice, clutching his DS-39 light machine gun to his side.

"Pipe it down, no names you idiot." Bunny seethed at the two.

Reggie stabbed his firearm towards the Pig, "He's the one that said-"

"You wanted to be here instead of a getaway driver, get your shit together!" Pig fired back.

"Will both of you just shut up already!" Bunny yelled, exasperated. Elle was sure that if he wasn't wearing a mask his veins would be pulsating, "And it's 'heads down hands up' we talked about this, moron."

"Oh. Right," Reggie turned back to the shocked audience, "HEADS DOWN HANDS UP MA'FUCKERS"

Several shots sprayed the ceiling and screams of terror exploded around the room.

Elle watched them with boredom in her violet eyes. The one day she decided to stop procrastinating going to the bank and it gets robbed by the Looney Tunes.

"Girly get down," the old man whisper yelled at her from the ground, "they might look stupid but them guns ain't fake."

"I mean they kind of look inexperienced to me." Elle saw that Reggie's gun had its safety catch on.

Across the room Bunny noticed one of the workers stiffly reaching under the counter for something. He looked anywhere but at the robbers, trying to be as inconspicuous as possible.

The old man glared at Elle from the floor, "And exactly how many robberies have you experienced? This isn't a joke, get down or they'll notice you and-"

"Move an inch and I'll paint that pretty wall with your blood." Bunny warned, his gruff voice silenced the bank. He had the tip of his rifle against a bank teller's temple.

Elle watched as the older man froze and raised both his hands, sweat running down his forehead. If only he'd scrambled for the Alarm when those idiots were busy bickering like children, then he wouldn't have gotten caught.

Bunny grabbed his arm and yanked him over the counter in one swift pull like he weighed nothing. Everyone winced and kept their heads down.

"Fill this shit with cash and try any funny business again and I'll blow you a new hole," Pig threw a black duffel bag at the man's face. The man flinched and took it in his shaking hands.

Pig turned to everyone else. "The rest of you DON'T MOVE OR-"

"Heyo what the fuck are you doing?" Reggie snarled.

Elle blinked. She had been so focused on the two robbers at the end of the bank that she failed to notice the third robber who now had the barrel of his rifle pointed straight at her.
