Chapter 2 - Chapter 2 - The God of cruelty smiles

*A week later, in front of the Goblin outpost.*

Alan walks up to Barbera's party. They are armed to the teeth for this raid. Armours and weapons glistening in the sun. That cold steel Alan can't even dream of holding. The dream that died before it could even begin. Compared to him, who is just dressed in a shirt and sweatpants. They look like they are from 2 different worlds.

"Good morning, Barbera. And good morning to you all too, Andrew, Buck, and Rose." Alan bows politely.

"It's good to see you. Hope you are ready for a backbreaking day of work." Barbera walks up. She wears a heavy set of medieval knight like armor. Her voiced, muffled by the helmet she has on. In her hand, a gigantic two handed shield with a lion crest.

"Jesus, Barb, why did you hire this guy again? He sucks." Andrew scuffles. "His just gonna hold us back." As he speaks, he brandishes his 2 long blades. People don't normally dual wield as it's more trouble than it's worth, but Andrew insists on doing it.

"Oh don't be like that, I'm sure he will be ok." Rose pats Andrew on the shoulder. She wields a heavy staff. She's the party's healer.

Buck stays quiet. He is only focused on preparing his own equipment. The magically engineered double barreled shotgun is the only thing he cares about.

"Alright, enough talking, let's get to work." Barbera lights a torch and takes the front. The party now moves into the goblins' cave.

As they walk deeper and deeper into the cave, Barbera suddenly stops. "I can hear the sound of moving water. They are flushing us! Everyone get behind me." Everyone barely moves behind Barbera as she digs her shield deep into the ground. Suddenly a great volume of water pours in their direction. When the water finally quiets down. The party realizes they are surrounded on all sides by tiny, green creatures. Goblins! In the distance, arrows soar by. "Everyone, battle formation!"

"I've been waiting for this!" Andrew pulls out his blades, cleaving goblins left and right. Buck readies his shotgun and snipes down the archers in the distance. Rose casts an attack buff on the party. Alan ducks between their attacks to collect goblin ears. These are the only usable parts of a goblin. They can be grounded down to a paste to stop minor bleeding. Goblins usually horde a lot of treasure in their caves. That's why adventurer parties even bother with these low level mobs. And with that all the enemies in the cave are neutralized. As Alan gathers up all the ears, he discovers a huge door, made of an incredibly tough material. His knife couldn't dent it at all. He shouts to Barbera to get the party here.

"Hmm, this is strange, I don't recall goblins being able to build structures like this. Not to mention, the craftmenship is amazing. Look at all the patterns carved into it. You don't think a deity has blessed this place, do you?" When the asteroids arrived on earth, so did certain deities' power. They can't be seen by the human eye and at times they bless certain monster occupied territory. This phenomenon makes the enemies stronger but also give better loot. "I'm not sure if we should go in if that's the case."

"Oh come on, we've barely had any action. Plus do you even see any treasure laid around here? We invested quite a bit of money into this raid. To leave empty handed would be a shame." Andrew wiped away blood from his swords as he sheaths them.

"Fine then, let's put it to a vote." As the party votes, they end up with a 2 to 2 tie. "What about you, Alan, what do you think?"

"Hey, his just the porter, he doesn't get to vote." Andrew proclaims loudly.

Alan thinks his decisions carefully, but at the end of the day, what choice did he have? "I say we keep going. I need whatever is behind that door."

"Oh hell yeah, I knew I could count on you." Andrew hugs Alan tights. He then pushes the gigantic door open. At this moment everyone's system window popped up.

*The god of bloodshed and cruelty has blessed this dungeon*.
