Sophie concentrated. She wanted to make time continue again. She closed her eyes and in her mind, she kind of saw a vision of a spell.
She said the statement out loud "Time's flow, resume thy pace. Let moments pass, and time finds its place."
Suddenly, time became unfrozen, everything started moving and the truck also continued its motion and started moving at high speed about to hit Sophie.
Sophie started shaking in fear and couldn't move. Chris shouted at Sophie to jump. Without thinking, he casted a spell saying "Push away, by airy hand, move apart, at my command." The spell created a wave that pushed the truck from hitting her causing the truck to shift thereby not hitting her.
Chris said "Pheww, l saved her, l knew she wouldn't jump."
Sophie said "Thank you, thank you Chris, you saved me."
Everyone thought she was in shock so she ran nuts and started talking to herself but Sophie didn't care.
Jake rushed to Sophie and hugged her. He said "Hey Sophie, l hope you are okay, I will take you home." Sophie said it was okay but Jake insisted and he carried her home with his car.
When he dropped Sophie at her gate, he kissed her lightly on the cheek. Sophie went to her room and sat down on the bed, confused on how she discovered magic was real.
She was also excited and at the same time scared of what she had discovered.
Then suddenly, Chris appeared in front of her and said, "Ehm, Sophie, cheer up! Having magic is not as bad as you think." Sophie shouted, "What are you doing in my room? Don't you guys know what privacy is as you claim you do?" Chris said, "I know you need me."
Then Sophie said, "Yeah, you are right. I really need you. I need answers. First of all, do you know anything about the book that gave me magic?"
Chris answered, "I don't know quite much about it, but tomorrow, you and I will ask Alpha."
Then Sophie said, "Who is Alpha?" Chris replied, "Alpha is like our master. Of all the good and civilized witches. Good witches don't use brooms and all that stuff. We cast spells in English."
He continued "The bad witches however are the opposite of us, they ride brooms in the sky and they use Latin language to cast their own spells, they always wear black and they are kind of ugly. These bad witches create monsters which can be seen by humans, but luckily, they haven't gained access to create monsters yet."
Sophie interrupted, "Until what?" Chris said, "Yeah, that is what I don't know. Alpha used to tell us that they are waiting for something, but he doesn't want to tell us what."
Then Sophie said, "Okay, so when am I going to follow you to get answers?" Chris replied, "Yeah, the first thing we're going to do is for you to learn your invisibility spell."
