Chapter 48 - Chapter 49: the Forbidden perfume..

Life in Hiding — The Quiet That Changes Gods.

The forgotten AF-era universe was wrong in the way abandoned temples were wrong, it was too still, too aware of its own silence.

Time here flowed like a wounded thing, limping instead of marching. It was perfect.

They hid within the remains of an ancient Kai sanctuary, half-swallowed by drifting stardust and petrified branches of a long-dead World Tree.

Shin had sealed it behind layered temporal folds, prayers stacked atop lies stacked atop treason.

For the first time in millions of years… Shin breathed freely .

The Ancient Saiyan, Taru rested at the sanctuary's heart, body wrapped in healing light and slow, controlled breaths.

Even injured, his presence dominated the space. His aura did not roar; it loomed, heavy and old, like a storm that had learned patience.

Shin tended to him daily.

At first, it was duty.

Then habit.

Then something else.

He learned the scars first, where tyrants, gods, and timelines had failed to kill the Saiyan.

Each mark carried a story Shin did not ask for but somehow understood.

His hands would hover, never rushing, applying Kai energy with reverence… and lingering a heartbeat too long.

The scent was what betrayed him.

Not something crude no, it was primal and cosmic, like heated stone after rain, like ozone before a divine calamity.

A mortal thing amplified by Ancient Saiyan blood. Shin found himself noticing it when the Saiyan slept, when the sanctuary was quiet and when no one was watching him.

His thoughts began to wander.

That frightened him more than the angels ever had.

Shin Supreme Kai, keeper of balance felt warmth bloom in his body, places untouched by eternity.

His posture softened. His voice, once clipped and formal, grew expressive, almost feminine when he spoke to the unconscious Saiyan, as if he might hear.

Sometimes… he spoke too much.

And sometimes… he touched when no healing was required.

Shin's Secret Research

Shin did not think of it as betrayal.

He called it curiosity.

.

Deep within sealed Kai archives of this world, knowledge forbidden not because it was evil, but because it was personal and perverse but still Shin searched.

Not for weapons Nor for spells.

But for understanding.

Bond-resonance.

Aura harmony.

The way gods and mortals could influence one another beyond words.

He learned that Kai bodies, while divine, were adaptive. Responsive to intent, emotion, proximity.

He changed small things.

The cadence of his ki.

The warmth of his presence.

The subtle rhythm of his heartbeat when near the Saiyan.

Nothing overt. Nothing spoken openly .

Yet when the Saiyan stirred more often now, when his breathing steadied faster under Shin's care… Shin felt a quiet, dangerous satisfaction in his core.

He told himself it was for healing.

He told himself many things at this point .

The Saiyan Notices

The Ancient Saiyan was not unaware.

His primal instincts were on another level.

Even resting, even wounded, his instincts never truly slept. He noticed how Shin sat closer now.

How the Kai's eyes lingered longer on his body.

How the sanctuary felt warmer when Shin entered.

He said nothing.

He liked the soft change.

In a life defined by conquest, betrayal, and solitude, Shin was the only being who had chosen him without fear or ambition.

The only one who stayed when gods hunted him and timelines that burned.

Partner in crime.

Keeper of secrets.

And something more unnamed, but growing.

....

Elsewhere...

...

Baby Awakens

The universe noticed before they did.

Baby who had evolved beyond his GT origins, caught the echo of Kai energy rippling through the void, traced by advanced Tuffle detection arrays woven from stolen divine tech. Not a location… a signature.

Supreme Kai.

Alive.

Traitor.

Close to the Ancient Saiyan.

Baby adjusted instantly.

Instead of chasing them … he expanded.

Baby's Campaign —

AF Threats Fall

One by one, AF-era powers stirred and each stronger than canon, each convinced of their supremacy.

Baby broke them.

SSJ5 Goku fell first, overwhelmed not by power alone but by possession his form turning into a vessel of Tuffle will.

Vegeta followed, defiant to the end, enslaved rather than destroyed.

Other villains joined the chorus ancient demons, lost gods, forgotten tyrants, each infected, rewritten, and bound.

A legion was born.

And then… Baby felt it.

The Ancient Saiyan's base power—vast, stable, terrifying.

By the time Baby reached the edge of the universe, the Saiyan stood fully healed.

Base power: 30 trillion.

Calm.

Centered.

Hungry.

...

The Battle That Shook the Edge of Creation

When Baby finally confronted them, the sky fractured.

The Ancient Saiyan fought in stages base first, measured and brutal, testing the legion.

When pressed, when the puppets closed in, he released Tyrant Origin (Restrained)

A transformation that bent gravity inward, his presence turning predatory and oppressive.

Shin did not fight directly.

Instead, he anchored.

Forbidden Kai techniques flowed bond-threads woven from trust, scent, memory, and god ki.

Whenever the Tyrant Origin threatened to slip, Shin's presence pulled the Saiyan back from the edge.

Not commands.

Connection.

Together, they pushed back and destroyed Baby.

The legion collapsed. The universe exhaled.

And that was when the angels found them.

....

The Angels Move

High above causality, the angels finished their analysis.

"Signature confirmed."

"Supreme Kai deviation: irreversible."

"Ancient Saiyan threat level: escalating beyond first projection."

A solution was deployed.

An executioner older than empires.

The Ancient Saiyan Hunter

They called him Varkhal.

Forged before Super Saiyans had a name, Varkhael was not a warrior, he was a function.

A being conditioned to hunt only one thing: Saiyans who surpassed divine tolerance.

He had ended civilizations.

Slain false gods.

Erased timelines with surgical precision.

And now… he was coming for Taru and his supreme Kai .

Cost of Tyrant Origin

The aftermath was not kind.

The Tyrant Origin left echoes,

Rage surfacing without warning, instincts sharpening into cruelty. Shin sensed it immediately and acted.

Not with force but with closeness.

He used forbidden Kai pacification rites.. rituals that relied on trust, presence, shared breath, and synchronized ki.

Sitting beside the Saiyan .

Speaking softly. Guiding his energy inward.

Shin's feminin's charm once unconscious became deliberate.

Not manipulative, but grounding and Familiar.

It worked.

But it bound them closer than ever.

....

Three Months Later —

The Hunter Arrives

Varkhal descended like judgment.

Shin was ordered to hide.

He obeyed… barely not wanting to leave Taru alone .

From concealment, Shin watched the most violent battle he had ever witnessed..

Ancient Saiyan versus Hunter, power tearing reality apart, the hunter's attacks were precise meant end the battle as quickly as possible to prevent the saiyan from adapting quickly enough to make a difference but the Tyrant Origin wasn't going to submit to death as it made Taru aggressive in his counter strikes. .

As for the supreme Kai..

He clenched his hands, heart burning with helpless resolve as he watches his only companion experience suffering alone to protect both of them .

"I will not stay weak.

I will stand beside him." Shin said

....

The Angels Observe

"Fascinating adaptability." one female angel said amused.

"Bond amplification detected."

"Supreme Kai emotional variables exceeding expectation, he's actually feeling romantic emotions for the brute." an angel said with contempt.

"Proceed to Phase Two."

The hunt had only begun.
