CHAPTER 14. RED THUNDER???

Mr Lu couldn't believe his eyes as he stared intently at the boy in front of the awakening stone, was this the same boy he had threatened to expel this morning.
His eyes darted from the boy to the stone and then back to the boy as he was at a loss of words.
Other adults in the room shared the same expression with Mr Lu, as they as looked like they had seen a ghost, even the awakener by Rai jin's side could not take off his eyes away from the sight in front of him.
Rai jin stood there with his hands still on the awakening stone, red arcs exploding forth from the awakening stone, it looked like hundreds of little serpents slithering around his hands.
The arcs had begun to spread outwards as they singed his clothes, causing visible burns on the fabric.
The students not understanding what was going on, began murmuring amongst themselves, as they were also comfounded by the sight in front of them.
"What is going on!, Why is Mr Lu so shocked?" a student asked.
"What element is that and why is it red, I have never heard of any primary element with the red colour"
The students had no idea what was going on, but they understood that it must be a big deal, seeing the looks of shock on the faces of some of the adults.
Lin kai was also confused, he had expected the dreg to fail his awakening, but instead he awakened an unknown element, Lin kai had never heard of any primary element with the colour red, but why does it feel a bit familiar?.
"Da lu, Da lu, Da lu" Mu lan called repeatedly as he shook Da lu, he was equally confused about the sight before him, and he needed some answers fast, who best could answer him other than the magical scholar of their group, the only walking encyclopedia he knew, who had basically read about every element there is.
"Uhhhnnn" Da lu replied absentmindedly, his gaze also completely focused on Rai jin, a look of awe evident on his face.
"What is going on, what has that boy awakened?"
"Rai J..in, he awakened the thunder element" Da Lu said.
"Thunder Element!!!" Mu lan exclaimed.
The exclamation from Mu lan seemed to snap everyone out of their shock back to reality.
"The thunder element, hoowww come?" Someone exclaimed from the crowd.
"Why didn't I awaken something as cool as that, I am stuck with water, I think I would end up drowning myself to death"
" Student with the water magic, Who would die faster, if I fed myself with Mud, how come I awakened the Mud element..."
"I heard it is so rare, that only one in thousand, seems to awaken it as a primary element"

The murmur and talks among the crowd was growing louder and getting out of hands, and so Headmaster Tian long stepped in.
He floated over to the stage and clapped his hands infusing them with mana, so instead of an average clap, they sounded like loud thunderous bangs instead.
"Quiet down students" Headmaster Tian long said as he landed gracefully, this seemed to garner the attention of the rioting students as they calmed down and became quiet.
The Headmaster took over from the awakener, who was to shocked regain his composure, This is the first time he had witnessed someone awaken the Thunder element, Moreso the shocking part was that, The thunder element was supposed to be white in colour, How in the hell did this boy's turn out to be red.
Headmaster Tian long, turned to Rai jin, who was now being doted upon by Mr lu, as he held his hands and caressed his body to see if the singes from his element hadn't hurt him in any way.
Rai jin, the centre of all these attraction was still ignorant of the kind of tension he had struck up and so he was conversing with his father in his mind.

*Really, thank you father* Rai jin thought gleefully, he was first of all happy he didn't fail his awakening, the comments from Lin kai and his lackeys had started to get him worried when he began his awakening. Most especially, he was happy he didn't awaken the mud element, he literally dreamt about throwing mud at Lin kai while the other shot fire balls at him instead during the duel, how embarrassing would that have been?, but one question puzzled him, which element was red.....

"Congratulations on passing your awakening" Headmaster Tian long's voice snapped Rai jin attention back to reality , he had not noticed the headmaster beside him, nor did he have any idea of the ruckus his awakening had caused.
"Thank you Headmaster" Rai jin bowed slightly, This man before him was a powerful Beyonder Mage, he wouldn't even need a spell to dispose Rai jin off right now, and besides even if he wasn't a brainer, he knew that the situation of his element having a different colour would probably blow up in the future, he needed a shield he could hide under, who else than this man, one of the people whom he truly respected.
He looked to his other side only to see Mr Lu's smiling face, only then did he notice that his left hand was in Mr Lu's hands, he quickly pulls away his hand, how come the man was acting so cringingly now,
He was smiling so much, his eyes seemed to have completely disappeared, it was creeping him out.
"You awakened the Thunder element, I must say it is very shocking even to me, as it is a very rare element, even more so as a primary element, more shocking seeing as your thunders red In colour, I think you also awakened an elemental core ability" Headmaster Tian long commented with a little smile, which further widened the smile on Mr Lu's face, he had never seen the old man smile, he must be very pleased with the new development, which in turn meant his own salary is sure to get a nice boost.
"Elemental core ability!!!"
"He not only awakened a super rare element, but also awakened an elemental core ability?"
"I think I need to apologise to him as soon as this is over, I stepped on him once during class, what if he decides to take revenge later on"

He could hear the whispers of awe from them, as they cleared the way for him.
"Do you think has a girlfriend?" A girl whispered to her partner as Rai jin was close by.
Rai jin, passed beside Lin kai, and he could swear he saw a large vein sticking out of his forehead as he saw the smug look on Rai jin's Face, Bai ji and Chan min were not left out, as they hid behind Lin kai eyeing Rai jin Murderously.
As Rai jin got close to him, He whispered slightly so only Lin kai could hear.
"Careful, your head is gonna split open if you keep on eyeing me so threateningly"
Lin kai could barely hold himself back but he could only watch as Rai jin walked pompously towards Mu lan And Da lu, his gaze moved over to his grandfather, and he could see him listening to his elder brother, Lin Wei. Lin Wei was probably informing him about the duel.
What kind of luck could this idiot have to actually awaken the Thunder element, not only that but an elemental core ability with it.
"Yooo my man, you actually awakened a badass element" Mu lan said ecstatically, as he grabbed Rai jin in a bear hug.
'Hehehehe" Rai jin laughed gleefully.
"Congratulations bro, but How did you do it. According to my calculations, the probabili….." Da lu was saying before he got cut off.
"If you dare mention any probabilities, I will fill up your head with air" Mu lan threatened.
"Wait till you are able to cast spells before you start making threats, besides try it and see if I won't freeze up your ass" Da lu retorted adjusting his glasses.
"You don't need to fight over daddy Rai jin kids, papa Rai jin would protect you with his thunder element" Ra jin proclaimed still laughing.
His gaze remained on Da lu and Mu lan as they exchanged magic threats but his mind soon wandered.
*I actually did it, i awakened the Thunder element, Lin Kai is almost puking from rage, who would dare confront daddy Rai jin now, hahahaha...… he couldn't wait to get home so he could break the news to his mother and brother, he was finally going to be able to fulfil his promises to them, what is left is to start cultivating his magic in order to strengthen his nebula. That was the hard part, but at least he knew it was not going to be in vain. His mind wandered to the upcoming duel, he needed to become strong enough by then to teach Lin kai a good lesson*.
