Chapter 116 - Chapter 116: A Difficult Exploration

The storage device was full.

She wasn't the kind of android specifically designed to serve humanity's daily life; she was a Type-E android specifically designed for execution. Therefore, her internal structure was naturally less specialized than those designed specifically for human use.

Even the Server commander and the communications personnel had androids better suited for this task, let alone those on the Lunar Server.

Therefore, there was a hint of guilt in her voice.

"Once you and I return to the Lunar Server, you can continue using my body, or use other androids."

Although she longed to continue serving humanity, her structure was indeed fully loaded, and preserving all human genetic information was crucial.

Besides, androids resembling her weren't uncommon, so 2B felt she wasn't special at all; Li Ke could find plenty if he wanted.

That's the reality. Since they are manufactured life forms, it's perfectly normal for them to look alike. It's just that these androids modify parts of their appearance according to their own preferences.

For example, changing their hairstyles, wearing accessories that don't violate regulations or performance rules, or altering their skin color and eye color.

These are all achievable, but their general appearances are similar.

For them, the differences might be enormous, but for humans, the differences might not be so significant.

"Um, forget about that."

Li Ke didn't want to go to 2B's world, at least not now.

The reason was simple. Although he didn't know much about 2B's world, he knew that the androids there had already begun to awaken. While humans still held them in high esteem, they had already begun to create the illusion of human existence to maintain their own.

If this happened to humans, wouldn't it be tantamount to religious faith?

While he wasn't worried about being killed if he went, becoming a mascot, or a puppet, was unavoidable.

Moreover, judging from 2B's performance, if he loss the regenerative abilities of this world, becoming a dried-up human body, is his only outcome.

Most importantly,

2B's World are of little significance to him. His power wouldn't change anything in that world. If the alien mechanical lifeforms discovered his existence, they would most likely clash with the android forces, leading to a full-scale war.

Therefore, rather than facing a world where friend or foe is unclear, it's better to wait until he has sufficient strength before exploring that world.

At least he should have the ability to protect himself in that world, right?

"But it's dangerous outside, Sir Li Ke."

2B looked at Li Ke with incomprehension. In her view, this must be a strange place. Li Ke realized that she hadn't heeded his previous words and still believed he was a human from their world.

But how to put it?

Li Ke felt that these androids probably had some kind of mandatory protective rule governing them.

It's that kind of situation where you absolutely have to protect humanity, regardless of what humanity wants to do, you're forced to protect them, even at the cost of your own destruction.

This isn't something unimaginable; countless literary works and animated films have depicted such scenes.

So, Li Ke looked at 2B, who was already biting her lip and looked incredibly alluring, and spoke.

"I have important things to do here, 2B. As a human, I order you: after you return to your unit, immediately convey my orders as a human—preserve all androids as much as possible to avoid major casualties. You and your YoRHa unit will become my guard. Furthermore, seal my genetic information. Only if I don't reappear before you in ten years will you be allowed to use my genetic information to clone and propagate new humans. 2B, preserving my genetic information for ten years with your technology, is that alright?"

Li Ke's words were remarkably calm.

Although he almost splattered his brains, he still had his brain intact, so to avoid any trouble, he immediately chose the best method for him.

"The Lunar Council may not grant your request, Sir Li Ke."

2B spoke earnestly, believing that humans still existed within the Lunar Council.

"Just relay the message."

Li Ke gave the order directly.

2B bit her lip. She couldn't find any way to take Li Ke away, as she couldn't contact anyone here. She immediately stood at attention, bowed, and addressed Li Ke.

"Then I'll request permission to return."

Although this would waste some genetic information—after all, the device within her body couldn't compare to professional equipment—there was no doubt that as long as Li Ke was present, the genetic information was virtually limitless.

"I refuse."

Li Ke opened the door and walked out, and 2B quickly followed. She didn't dare let Li Ke leave her side, but the next moment, Li Ke's hand pressed against her chest.

The other girls immediately looked towards Li Ke. Seeing his slightly serious face, Rin, who had wanted to tease or mock him, immediately shut her mouth.

"Stand still. I'm sending you back now. Also, 2B, tell them you're my personal android. Hey! You guys! Watch this!"

Li Ke was direct. Although he hadn't thought of it when he bumped into 2B's butt, now that his Sage Mode was back in power, he could understand many things.

His strength wasn't up to 2B's worldview. Going in would be suicide; if 2B gave him some kind of forced protection, it would be troublesome.

So he spoke to the other girls sitting outside the house and activated his power, sending 2B back.

"Please don't!"

2B quickly grabbed Li Ke's hand, trying to stop him from teleporting her away and risk the danger of being alone.

However, her hand grasped empty air, and the sensation of Li Ke touching her chest completely disappeared. At this moment, the other women rushed over, watching 2B repeatedly try to grab Li Ke, but in vain, her grasping at thin air.

Soon, a large group of androids who looked exactly like 2B approached, pointing their weapons at her and speaking a string of words they couldn't understand.

Then, 2B said something, and the androids' faces showed astonishment.

And soon, 2B was taken away.

To be precise, she was carried away.

And carried away in a way that prevented anything from being exposed.

Frankly, it looked a bit like carrying a pig…

Li Ke, looking at 2B with her limbs restrained, thought this rather impolitely.

"Is this deportation? Was 2B arrested? It doesn't look like it."

Rin, unfamiliar with the NieR world, looked at the gradually darkening scene with a hint of doubt, her suspicions about deportation lessening somewhat.

Because she did indeed sense a strange power appearing and disappearing.

"The situation in their world is very complicated. Humanity is extinct, so things are complicated."

Li Ke casually explained, then waved his hand.

"So now you see, this is how I sent you back. If you want to leave using this method, you can just use your mouths. You don't need to be like 2B… she actually had a specific purpose: to obtain my genetic information."

Rin Tohsaka nodded. She couldn't sense anything anymore, and staying here was pointless, so she looked at the other two ladies.

"Tsk, I understand. So, Ms. Kiki, Mai, let's go."

"Okay."

Mai Shiranui nodded first. She didn't intend to trade her body with Li Ke. After all, the person she liked now was Andy. Although Andy didn't like her appearance, she wouldn't allow herself to be contaminated in the slightest until Andy explicitly rejected her.

The other lady looked thoughtfully at the spot where 2B had disappeared, then touched her lips and looked at Li Ke.

"Mr. Li Ke, is it really just a matter of using your mouths?"

Li Ke nodded.

"Yes, that's true for now."

"Okay, I understand."

After saying that, the woman who called herself Kiki quickly hopped on the motorcycle. Under Mai Shiranui's control, she grabbed the food and infection-reducing medicine provided by Li Ke, and the three of them sped off towards areas Li Ke and Rias hadn't explored.

"Do you think they can find a way out?"

Rias asked with interest.

"I don't care. Whether they find it or not makes no difference to me. It's just a little more troublesome if they don't."

Li Ke crossed his arms, looking at Rias, whose ample bosom trembled even as she spoke.

"But what about you? Why aren't you searching anymore?"

"Because this world won't let me leave so easily. It's complicated to explain, but until a more outstanding successor appears, this world is giving me special treatment."

"Understood."

Li Ke nodded, then turned to begin his training for the day.

"What a cold-hearted fellow."

Rias shook her head helplessly and continued manipulating her destructive power.

She had always struggled to control this terrifying power, because misuse would harm her first. But in this world, she didn't have to worry about that.

Moreover, by constantly overdrawing her magic power, she had not only obtained several magic crystals but also significantly increased her magic power. Combined with her learning of various spells, her strength had increased by 20-30% in just a few days.

Therefore, even knowing that her peerage would worry, she wouldn't leave this place for a while.

Unless this world couldn't hold on any longer.

While the two of them were training to increase their strength, Rin and her group weren't doing so well.

Rias said that the Processing Plant building she had explored was very strange. It was filled with an almost endless number of zombies, and there might be something special inside. However, she had gone too far in her exploration last time, and many zombies remained, and she didn't know if they had left.

So they decided to explore other areas to see if similar places existed, hoping to find out what special things might be inside.

They searched for most of the day, but saw nothing but some strange zombies. Several times, they were even forced to stop their motorcycles and fight off the zombies.

Time passed slowly, and just as they were about to give up, they finally saw a strange place.

A factory that looked like a weapons processing plant, covered in blood, but without a trace of human presence.

Rin Tohsaka was certain of this, because she had definitely seen many zombies wandering around the factory, but the exhaust fans and the factory's roaring noises were still present, and she could hear the machines running just by getting close.

However, the zombies in this factory didn't exhibit the habits of the other zombies; they didn't move because of the noise, but simply stood there quietly.

Rin Tohsaka surveyed her surroundings while channeling her magic into the weapons Li Ke had generously provided, making them more durable. She then took out several gems and began constructing a defensive magic array.

These items weren't very defensive; they couldn't even withstand bullets, but they were more than capable of protecting against bites and scratches. Therefore, they didn't consume much magic power.

She distributed these items to two other people, and after everyone was ready, she looked at the zombies in the factory.

"According to Rias, these monsters explode as soon as they encounter people So, let's try killing it silently. If that doesn't work, we'll have to get back quickly."

With that, Rin raised her crossbow, a weapon developed by Kiri, while Mai revved the motorcycle. If a large horde of zombies charged out, she would immediately lead the two of them away.

With the help of Rin's magic, the crossbow bolt swiftly pierced the zombie's head, instantly felling the yellow-eyed creature.

The sound of it falling quickly attracted other zombies, and five or six began rushing towards their location.

However, this made the three of them's hearts leap into their throats. They quickly pulled back their crossbows and began firing, zombies falling one after another.

But to their relief, although zombies were constantly appearing inside the factory, no zombies appeared in the surrounding area.

"Looks like we're much luckier." "

Rin chuckled softly, raising her hand to shoot another zombie through the head.

However, her smile vanished immediately.

Zombies were pouring out of the factory.

In just three minutes, they had shot and killed over a hundred zombies at the entrance, but the factory continued to send out five or six at a time.

These zombies were no match for them, but their numbers seemed endless.

The corpses on the ground multiplied, eventually blocking the factory gates, and the expressions on Rin and her companions grew increasingly grim.

But just as they were about to make their move, a zombie—hindered by the pile of corpses—was unable to reach the three of them. Instead, it became an obstacle, obstructing the very factory structure it was meant to protect.

The woman who called herself Kiki keenly observed this, and the next moment, things changed.

Like water being poured into a pot of boiling oil, the factory erupted into chaos.

Countless roars of zombies echoed from within the factory. The next instant, every door and window they could see was filled with zombies. These monsters pounded on doors and windows, glaring angrily at them. Rin Tohsaka glanced at them and gave up on counting.

Countless zombies leaped out of the windows; at least several hundred rushed out of the factory in an instant, charging towards them at a speed even Usain Bolt couldn't match.

"What's the point of exploring now?!"

"Run!" Without hesitation, Rin jumped onto the motorcycle and tossed out the gem she carried. Instantly, countless flames and shockwaves appeared, clearing out a large swarm of zombies and blasting most of the factory gate in front of her into pieces.

None of the three women wanted to stay, so the instant Rin threw the gem, Mai started the motorcycle and, as the other two got on, twisted the throttle to its maximum.

The motorcycle shot off like an arrow, while Rin and Kiki turned to look back, then a strong wave of fear and tension washed over them.

In front of their eyes, hundreds of disfigured zombies, some even engulfed in flames, surged forth like a tsunami.

The dilapidated building, like a volcano, continuously spewed forth a zombie horde far too large to contain.

Mai Shiranui saw all this in the rearview mirror. Only then did they realize two things:

First, this world seemed unwilling to let them leave.

Second, just how precious was the opportunity Li Ke had provided?
