Chapter 84: Want a Tutor Session?
Walking along the street, Eriri seemed very happy, saying with a laugh, "Although I can eat snacks at home, Mom always restricts me and doesn't let me eat too much, including fried foods. I usually only get a chance to eat them a few times when I go out to play. If I go out with Mom and Dad, forget about it."
"That sounds a bit rough, but high-calorie fried foods really shouldn't be eaten too often. Eating them occasionally isn't a big problem. Besides, Eriri, you're not fat, so you can worry less than the average girl."
"Hmph! I'm very confident about this; I've never gotten fat!"
Smiling proudly, Eriri began looking through the menu items of the restaurant Kaede had found. "What kind of pizza should we get? Ugh... it absolutely has to be thin crust. There are so many varieties: chicken, beef, and cheese and bacon. Asakura, what do you think we should eat? I see they even have durian pizza!"
Upon hearing that, Kaede's mouth twitched involuntarily. "Eriri, please be a decent human being. Can you not choose something so bizarre?"
These days, bizarre foods are becoming increasingly common. Why does everyone like stuffing durian into everything?
Seeing Kaede's expression, Eriri asked curiously, "You don't like durian?"
"No, I don't. Do you?"
"Hmm... I've never had it, so I want to try it, hehehe! I heard it's supposed to be really delicious."
He hadn't expected Eriri would dare to try something she'd never tasted before. Kaede truly couldn't stand the smell of durian; he had been put off by the scent the last time he went to a fruit store.
Eriri said surprisingly, "I didn't expect there was something you weren't brave enough to try. I thought you were always willing to experiment."
"Everyone has things they dislike. Even I have a few foods I won't eat, like natto. However, Eriri, if you want to eat it, you certainly can order one, but I won't join you. I'll order something else for myself."
"Tch, you're such a bore."
Eriri pouted. "Fine, I won't choose the durian pizza then."
However, Eriri thought to herself that she would definitely force Kaede to try it with her sometime in the future, regardless of how it tasted.
Since the distance was short, after about ten minutes of walking and looking around, the two arrived at their lunch destination.
Looking at the storefront, Eriri nodded. "It looks pretty good. Let's go, let's go, I'm getting hungry."
Pushing the door open and entering the store, they were greeted by the welcome of a staff member.
"Welcome!"
The person they saw was a blonde male, about the same height as Kaede, wearing a staff uniform. He had proper features but, surprisingly, deep dark circles under his eyes.
Shirogane Miyuki was working today, still earning a living. The customers hadn't stopped coming during lunchtime, and now he saw a boy and a girl who appeared to be his age.
Ah, that's nice. They must be on a date.
Thinking about the daily battle of wits between him and the Vice President, he truly didn't know when it would end.
After guiding the two customers to their seats, Shirogane Miyuki maintained his usual high standard of service, first delivering two glasses of iced water, followed by two menus.
"Here are the menus. Please take a look. Would you like me to recommend our signature dishes?"
"No thank you, we'll look first." Flipping through the menu, Kaede asked, "Eriri, you choose first."
"Hehe, I won't hold back then!"
Eriri had already made up her mind before arriving. She immediately flipped to the pizza page and said, "I want a large, thin-crust signature beef and bacon pizza, extra cheese! And then, an appetizer platter! For a drink, I want iced lemon tea. Asakura, I'm done choosing!"
Nodding, Kaede continued, "Is one pizza enough for the main course? You might get hungry this afternoon. We're going to the aquarium, and we'll be walking around a lot. How about we order a baked cheese chicken rice too?"
"Do we still need to eat rice for lunch?"
"Let's eat a little bit." Glancing at Eriri, Kaede couldn't help but smile, and then said to the server, who appeared to be his age, "Excuse me, please add the baked cheese chicken rice I mentioned, and for my drink, I'd like an iced latte."
"Understood."
Shirogane Miyuki quickly noted down the order, repeated it to confirm accuracy, and said, "Please wait a moment. Your food will be served shortly."
After watching the server leave, Eriri finally said, "Did that server not get enough sleep? His dark circles are so heavy."
Kaede nodded. "I guess so, but judging by his energy, maybe he's used to it? Well, I can't say for sure."
"I couldn't do that. Staying up late makes the next day really tough, and I don't have the guts to sleep during class like Utaha."
Mentioning Utaha's usual behavior, Kaede commented, "That's because the upperclassman is ranked first in the grade, Eriri. You shouldn't be jealous."
"What's the big deal? It's just slightly better grades, isn't it?"
Leaning on the table, Eriri said huffily, "My grades aren't bad either! They're just not that good."
Looking at Eriri's puffed-out cheeks, Kaede found her absolutely adorable and said with a smile, "Mhm, mhm, that's right, Eriri's grades aren't bad. If you want to rank in the top of the grade, how about I tutor you sometime? High school subjects aren't difficult, and boosting your scores is definitely possible."
"Tutor session, huh..."
While the idea of Kaede tutoring her, especially one-on-one, was very appealing to Eriri, her enthusiasm for studying wasn't particularly high.
"Let me think about it."
Kaede knew she would make that expression and didn't push it. Indeed, for Eriri, her current grades weren't bad, all above average. It would be better to help her with tutoring when she herself had the motivation.
The restaurant was lively, with many customers choosing to eat lunch there. However, the atmosphere at Kaede and Eriri's table wasn't too affected; they continued to chat amongst themselves.
Until... "Asakura? Sawamura-san?"
Takasu Ryuji's voice came over, and both turned their heads, then were surprised to see Takasu Ryuji, dressed in a staff uniform, walking over with a tray holding two drinks.
"Takasu?"
"Takasu-san?"
Kaede and Eriri never expected to see Takasu Ryuji here. It looked like he was working part-time?
Kaede looked Takasu Ryuji up and down and said, surprised, "I only mentioned it once, and you actually found a part-time job?"
He acted so quickly on the suggestion given to Takasu Ryuji earlier today. It was unexpected.
