Chapter 22 - Chapter 21

Odin did not confront Alexander openly.

That was not his way.

Instead—

He observed.

And then, when the moment was right—

He tested.

The All-Father's Trial

Alexander sat in the garden, legs crossed, feeding birds crumbs of bread.

The air was peaceful.

Too peaceful.

Odin stood several steps away, Gungnir resting lightly in his hand.

He released no pressure.

No killing intent.

Only a whisper of Odinforce, woven into the air like a gentle thought:

A suggestion.

A nudge.

A divine impulse meant to guide the mind.

Something subtle enough that even gods rarely noticed.

"Come here," the will murmured—not as sound, but as authority.

Alexander paused.

Tilted his head.

"…Huh?"

Nothing happened.

The birds continued eating.

Alexander returned to his task.

Odin's single visible eye widened—just slightly.

A Deeper Push

Odin increased the pressure.

Still gentle.

Still invisible.

This time, it carried royal command, the kind that made lesser beings obey without realizing why.

Alexander frowned.

"…That's weird."

He looked around.

Then shrugged.

And went back to feeding the birds.

The magic slid off him.

Not resisted.

Not blocked.

Simply—

Unacknowledged.

Odin withdrew the Odinforce instantly.

Slowly.

Carefully.

The Verdict

Later that night, Odin stood alone on the balcony, staring at Yggdrasil's distant glow.

"…Complete immunity," he murmured.

Not arrogance.

Not ego.

A fact.

"That child cannot be ruled."

Raphael Explains

As Alexander lay in bed that night, eyes half-closed—

Raphael, Lord of Wisdom:

Master, clarification requested earlier regarding enchantment immunity.

Alexander hummed sleepily. Yes.

Raphael:

Seduction and mind-influence failed due to Unique Skill: Lust.

Alexander blinked. But Lust didn't activate.

Raphael:

Correct.

That is precisely why.

Silence.

Raphael:

Unique Skill: Lust defines desire as internalized, not externalized.

Master's longing, curiosity, and emotional resonance originate from self-will.

Therefore:

External desire manipulation = ineffective Emotional compulsion = overridden Enchantment based on attraction = redirected inward

Alexander slowly understood.

So… they can't make me want things?

Raphael:

Affirmative.

Master desires only what Master chooses.

Alexander smiled faintly.

"That's nice."

A Dangerous Innocence

Raphael continued.

Raphael:

Warning:

This immunity will provoke curiosity in higher entities.

Alexander yawned.

"I'll deal with that later."

Raphael:

Understood.

Alexander rolled over and fell asleep.

Elsewhere

Odin spoke quietly to Frigga.

"He cannot be controlled," Odin said.

Frigga smiled softly.

"Good," she replied. "Then he will never lose himself."

Odin nodded.

Somewhere deep within Yggdrasil—

The tree tightened its protection just a little more.

Alexander Ashborn Odinson did not resist the minds of gods.

He simply—

Did not recognize their authority.

And that, Odin knew,

was far more frightening than defiance.
