Chapter 9 - Collecting Interest from This World

The moment the High Beams hit them, Li Pu's expression suddenly changed. He reached out and pushed Nikolai and his two sons, who were standing in a row, to the ground.

At the same time, two Gatling gun barrels suddenly rose from the roof of the cab of the truck that was approaching them!

Whir, whir—

Da da da—

The sound of electric motors started, and the gunshots instantly merged into a continuous roar.

Tracer Bullet belts, like whips, swept over in an instant, rustling the bushes by the road and making the slightly higher dirt piles beside the road shoulder constantly "smoke" with quick puffs.

Some bullets even hit the tree trunks in the distant forest, a single shot capable of tearing off a large chunk of wood from a tree, easily breaking a cedar or spruce as thick as a bowl... While pushing Nikolai and his two sons down, Li Pu also dove to the ground, pressing little Broly beneath him.

They were lucky to have escaped.

Nikolai's bodyguards weren't so lucky.

Under the crossfire of two six-barreled Gatling machine guns, even with their reliable Kalashnikov Rifles, these men were no different from holding burning sticks.

Without firing a single shot, they were torn to shreds by the bullet belts, scattered in pieces along the roadside.

"Ah Fu!" Little Broly, pressed to the ground by his father Li Pu, couldn't help but cry out.

Earlier, to get Nikolai and his sons as close as possible to the black bear, he had left his dog with Nikolai's bodyguards.

And because the bodyguards were carrying automatic weapons, they became priority targets for the machine guns, so Ah Fu naturally faced a grim fate as well.

Little Broly: ( •̥́ ˍ •̀ू )

In an instant, Li Pu felt the emotional change in his good son; the child's anger was burning because he felt wronged.

And undoubtedly, anger is the fastest catalyst for Saiyan battle power growth.

As Broly's green hair stood on end, a fierce wind immediately swept through, followed by the ground beginning to tremble.

The asphalt road surface of the highway before them seemed to be continuously squeezed by an invisible giant hand, cracking and buckling in pieces.

"Is, is this an earthquake?" Nikolai, lying on the ground, swallowed hard and stammered, trying to ask Li Pu.

The unfortunate Nikolai and his two sons had just escaped the fear of being machine-gunned, only to be terrified by this natural disaster-like scene.

However, Li Pu had no time to bother with him at this moment, because he was almost thrown off by the Qi erupting from little Broly.

"Broly!"

Li Pu quickly shouted in Chinese.

More than a year ago, he had taught Broly Chinese, and the father and son would play a "coded communication" game in Chinese when they had nothing to do.

The reason Li Pu taught Broly Chinese was because, in emergency situations, this language offered unparalleled communication efficiency.

"Don't jump to conclusions, sense Ah Fu's Qi."

Little Broly was an obedient child, and upon hearing his father's words, he immediately complied.

With a Super Saiyan's strong perception, he immediately sensed Ah Fu's condition a few hundred meters away.

Because the dog was small, it was lucky not to be hit by the machine gun fire. At this moment, it was curled up behind a small dirt mound beside the highway, tail tucked, whimpering and afraid to move.

Although little Broly had some degree of night vision, Saiyans after all did not have X-ray vision like Kryptonians.

The child had only glimpsed Nikolai's bodyguards being blown apart by bullets and hadn't seen the clever little dog Ah Fu hide behind the dirt mound, thinking his only pet and good friend had also been shot to pieces.

That's why the little guy didn't even bother to sense Ah Fu's Qi, becoming so angry he almost exploded on the spot.

"Dad, you're still the best," little Broly scratched his head sheepishly. "So what should we do next?"

As the child calmed down, the terrifying, World-shaking natural disaster scene also gradually subsided.

"You stay here and don't move. Next—"

Li Pu rubbed Broly's little head, picked up the shotgun beside him, and stood up from the ground.

"—I'm going to collect some interest."

Just now, Li Pu once again saved the World from the brink of destruction, so what's wrong with him collecting some interest from this World?

After standing up, he aimed at the modified truck stuck in the middle of the road by the cracked asphalt, and without even aiming, he pulled the trigger twice consecutively.

Bang! Bang!

Two bullets flew from the muzzle of the shotgun, one left and one right, accurately hitting the two headlights on the front of the truck.

The only two light sources on this road were extinguished.

"Shit!"

Inside the cab of the modified truck, a HYDRA Agent, struggling with the steering wheel to get the vehicle out of the cracked road surface, let out an angry curse.

"What's wrong with S.H.I.E.L.D.'s procurement department? The car windows are bulletproof, but why did they only equip it with ordinary headlights?"

"A two-million-dollar automatic weapon System, and two Gatlings extend out, only to jam after shaking twice during firing?!"

"That Black Bald Guy must have taken kickbacks from procurement again!"

However, despite his cursing, he wasn't really that nervous anymore.

He only panicked for a moment when he heard three gunshots and mistakenly thought his group was being intercepted by S.H.I.E.L.D. forces.

That's why he quickly activated the automatic weapon System, using the two six-barreled Gatlings to unleash a wave of firepower on the "enemies" appearing by the roadside.

Then, when the sudden "earthquake" occurred, he also panicked for a moment, but the earthquake came and went quickly. Now he just needed to find a way to get back on the road and complete the transport mission.

"I'll take care of driving the car out; you guys deal with the remaining adults and children."

The driver said, then pulled down the night vision component on his helmet.

He wasn't the only one in this modified truck.

The truck's front was significantly longer than a typical heavy truck, and including the driver, there were a total of nine people in the cabin at this time, a complete HYDRA tactical team.

Moreover, this team was led by John Gatlerr, who was both a HYDRA high-ranking official and a senior Level 8 Agent of S.H.I.E.L.D.

Solving a few "country bumpkins" with Hunting Rifles, wasn't that easier than opening a beer bottle?

The driver, however, didn't know that just after he finished speaking, a cruel glint flashed in the eyes of John Gatlerr, who was sitting in the back.

Because Gatlerr could tell that the driver, having been undercover in S.H.I.E.L.D. for too long, couldn't handle the mental pressure and had developed a drug habit.

F*** you, how can HYDRA be run well with these worms?

But considering the need to quickly transport the "old antique" snatched from the Arctic Circle to a secret HYDRA Base, Gatlerr ultimately decided to wait until the mission was complete before conducting a purge within the organization.

"Everyone put on your night vision goggles and get out of the car..."
