Chapter 9 - Arrival At Town

I put Izzy on my shoulder and walk back to the campsite just to see that Sion and Felicity are up sitting by the fire, Felicity is looking worried "did something happen?" I ask as I sit down across from them.

they look up at me and before they can speak suddenly Sion screams and leaps away, that's when I remember that Izzy was still sitting on my shoulder.

"Alexander be careful you have a baby monarch spider on you" Sion says as she backs away

"Oh...this is Izzy, she is another companion that travels with me" I say as I grab Izzy and set her down on the ground before calling the summon space, and without telling Izzy what to do she walks over and enters the summon space

"so what got you two so worked up at this fine hour" I joke as I look at the Felicity and Sion

"what got us worked up is that there was a monarch spider, one of the biggest problems for adventures in this area as they have a corrosive web that can melt almost anything and there poison is so potent even a poison mage might die from one drop" Sion says without stopping for air and almost passes out

"oh and here I thought it was something to be worried about" I say as I look at Sion, suddenly I hear a voice in my head "Alex don't be rude to her, she was worried about you and the fact that you have tamed the monarch spider clearly got under her skin...It also doesn't help that earlier she went to the toilet and you found her in a compromised position" Felicity says telepathically with a hint of annoyance and a slight joking manner in the way she said it.

it took the whole night to comfort Sion and let her know that the spider that attacked her was innocent and wasn't trying to kill her, I even asked Izzy and she said that she was attracted to something that smelt familiar.

As soon as the sun rose we started our journey towards the town it didn't take too long before we ran into another problem, or well Felicity had the problem she was called back by her sisters, she made it seem like she was returning to the forest before turning into her bird form and flying away.

Sion escorted me to the perimeter of the town before she stopped and put on her hood, it was at that point I found out that this town didn't like beastfolk, the only reason Sion was here was that she was with a member of the adventures guild who had come to this town on business after entering the town and with her assistance in finding a inn to stay at she left.

"so this world also has people like in my old world" I say to Izzy who was now resting on my shoulder, and to Felicity because I know she was watching but was too worried about being found out or too lazy to respond.

As I look out the window into the streets bellow I see that there was clearly a prejudice against beastfolk because every time I see a beastfolk they seem to be wearing a metal collar and they look like puppets, obeying the commands of there "masters"

"even in this world there are people forced into slavery for the rich and powerful" I mumble to myself remembering the faces of the people who were forced to be the slaves of the people who forced them into the situation that caused them to be turned into slaves in the first place from my old world.

I turn away from the window and walk to the bed and lay down, it's been too long since I've slept on a comfortable bed the last time was when I was just a kid before my old world turned to a shit show.

"should I just store the bed in my storage space so I can sleep like this whenever" I chuckle at the thought, maybe I should just buy a bed to store in my storage space for when I'm away, suddenly a thought struck me "Is there a skill that allows me to store a entire building in my storage space?" I wonder as I flick thru the system store

-Portable house- upgradeable - special - 1,000 points-

summons a house that can be summoned at the users discretion and anything inside that isn't living will be summoned in the same location as they were left

"now that will be useful especially since I plan to explore this world and see what this world has in store for a guy like me" I chuckle to myself as I get up deciding to go look at the adventures guild in this town to see what I can learn and to get my adventures card, Sion said that It's a form of ID that will let me into city's around the world and that in order to enter Arcadia the adventures town I will need one so may as well get it done now.

It didn't take long to find the guild building It kind of sticks out since it's the biggest building in the main street plus the giant sign saying adventures guild also helps, as I got closer to the building I can hear the noise of people arguing about quests and party formations and I'm not even at the front steps yet, I continue to walk forward and then I bump into a old man in a nice suit that didn't do a good job at hiding the fact that he clearly has spent time in the military or maybe he was a adventurer "sorry, didn't see you there" The old man says politely before walking away, at least there is some nice people in this town.

As I enter the guild hall I was instantly greeted with the smell of alcohol and smoke clearly this place is a lot more relaxed then what I was expecting but it also put my mind at ease a little, I approach a counter that has someone at it and ask about the procedure to get a guild card and surprisingly it was as simple as filling out a document and getting my rank checked, after dealing with the paper work the guild receptionist asked me to touch a small crystal ball.

with a small flash of light the ball turned a white colour with three lines in it, it seemed to surprise the receptionist a bit, just for me to find out that most peoples rank start at either brown or black tier, the tier system goes brown for wood, black for iron, red for copper, white for silver, yellow for gold, dark yellow for black gold, blue for diamond and green for mithril, each tier is then separated into five ranks depending on the number of lines that appear, the only exception is mithril where it can go up to ten ranks.

There is one one more tier but that is reserved for the strongest adventures, it is the dragon scale tier which only has three ranks, so it's like how in my old world they had the F to SSS ranks of abilities, that would make me a mid grade C tier ability user in my old world, after receiving the guild card I notice that it has three silver stripes on it, so that is how they can tell my rank and tier.

now that I have my guild card I should take on a quest to get some money, and to earn the points I need to get that house skill from the shop, after roughly looking for about twenty minutes I notice a request to kill some orcs in a nearby cave "here I was thinking that this world just had big animals now I get to see some real fantasy creatures" I think as I grab the request and turn to leave the guild hall just to be stopped by a group of freakily tall guys wearing almost nothing just a scrap of leather and fur around there waist to cover up there junk.

"HEY, newbie had over that request" The obvious leader of the group says as spit flies from his mouth

"Now why would I do that?" I ask sizing him and his group up they don't look strong, definitely weaker then the bear

"Because I told you too and you don't want to end up the bad side of me and my companions" The leader says clearly thinking he's stronger then me

"and what if I don't hand it over" I ask taking a step forward

"Then I will crush you and take it from your dead body" The leader says reaching out to grab the request but just as his hand is about to grab it, I reach forward grabbing his hand and squeeze only stopping when I hear the crunching of his bones.
