Chapter 71 - Chapter 71: Raising Shuckle

Planning the internal regional structure, the proportion of internal functional land, and the road system within a city is a very complex task.

Although it is still the Middle Ages, Draconis felt that, given the existence of his Cheat, certain things should be considered in advance now.

Besides the basic residential areas, commercial districts, schools, farmlands, pastures, and orchards, there are also the town's underground sewage system, future industrial bases, and water conservancy hubs to consider.

Additionally, the living areas for Pokémon within the city must be considered, with the goal of coexistence between humans and Pokémon.

In short, this is a very complex and long-term project.

Draconis spent an afternoon chatting with Elena about his ideas.

When Elena heard the phrase, 'with the goal of coexistence between humans and Magical Beasts,' a glimmer of light flickered in her eyes.

"Your Highness… do you wish to build a city where humans and Magical Beasts can live together?" Elena couldn't help but ask.

Draconis raised an eyebrow: "Is there a problem?"

"No, not at all." Elena quickly shook her head: "I am just too surprised by Your Highness's bold idea."

In fact, after these days of interaction, Elena was no longer as afraid of Magical Beasts as she once was.

Nevertheless, she still felt Draconis's idea was too bold and too avant-garde.

But, if such a city could be built… a sparkle flashed in Elena's eyes; by then, such a city would probably overturn everyone's perception.

Your Highness is doing something unprecedented!

Looking at Elena's reaction, Draconis smiled and said,

"That's right, I want to break human traditional notions and prove to people that Magical Beasts and humans are not enemies, but companions who can live together."

"Grass-type Magical Beasts can help cultivate crops, accelerate crop Growth, and greatly increase our productivity, while Fire-type Magical Beasts can help smelt minerals. Only by leveraging their power can we accelerate our development, and the results, you have already seen with your own eyes."

Elena couldn't help but imagine the scene.

"Your Highness, can I also have a beautiful, elegant Magical Beast, like you and like Anna?" she couldn't help but ask.

"That depends on fate's arrangement." Draconis smiled slightly and said, "Perhaps tomorrow, you and it will meet by destiny."

"I am already looking forward to that day." Elena closed her eyes, took a deep breath, and then said, "Your Highness, let me lend you a hand!"

As an avant-garde artist and designer, she absolutely couldn't miss this kind of thing.

Watching Elena's figure depart, Draconis slowly exhaled a turbid breath.

Old Butler Alfred brought him a cup of black tea: "Your Highness, please rest for a while!"

Draconis took a sip, then asked: "By the way, Alfred, have you ever heard of the name Lacunosa?"

"Lacunosa?" Alfred was slightly startled.

He carefully recalled any related content, then shook his head and said,

"I'm sorry, Your Highness, I have not heard of that name."

As expected, Draconis felt a little regretful, but there was nothing he could do.

If viewed according to the game's map, Lacunosa Town's geographical location is already at the border of the Unova region. At this time, it is probably still a small village.

And they are all people from Eindoak, the center of the kingdom, so it's impossible for them to know about such a small place in the Unova region.

It seems he can only inquire later when there's an opportunity.

Three days later, Ryan, who had been out on a mission, returned to the territory.

He carried a large package on his shoulder, and upon returning, he went straight to the lord's hall where Draconis was.

"Your Highness, I've brought back the Magical Beasts you requested!"

With that, Ryan took off the package from his body and began to pour its contents onto the table.

Accompanied by a rustling sound, several Pokémon, shaped like small turtles with many holes on their red shells, dropped out.

They were none other than Shuckle!

One, two, three, four, five, six, seven, eight… "Eight in total? So many?" Looking at the frightened Shuckle, which had retracted its head into its shell, Draconis was very surprised.

Ryan scratched his head in embarrassment, then explained:

"These Magical Beasts hide under rocks and are very easy to find. Just flip over any rock there and you'll find one underneath. They don't run away either; when they see me, they get scared and pull their heads back into their shells, hiding motionless."

Draconis: "…" Poor Shuckle.

Silently sighing in his heart, Draconis picked up the Shuckle in front of him one by one, arranged them in two rows on the table, then cleared his throat and said to them:

"Hello, Shuckle."

The Shuckle didn't dare to move.

"First, I apologize to you for Ryan's rude behavior. However, we invited you here because we want to invite you to join this territory and live with us."

The Shuckle still didn't move.

"We will provide you with food and ensure your safety. Here, you will no longer have to hide under rocks, nor will you have to worry about other Magical Beasts harming you."

As he spoke, Draconis looked at the Dratini and Snivy beside him, giving them a hint with his eyes.

"Snivy…" Snivy was a bit helpless, but still agreed.

Dratini, however, didn't overthink it. It happily stepped forward and began to invite the Shuckle.

"Woo~!"

Snivy stood by with its arms crossed, occasionally interjecting a word, echoing Dratini's words.

The few Pokémon communicated back and forth, while Draconis and Ryan stood by patiently waiting.

Ryan was incredibly curious about this scene. He couldn't help but ask: "Your Highness Draconis, can Magical Beasts understand each other's words?"

They are clearly not the same species… "That's right." Draconis also found it very magical: "Isn't it amazing?"

Actually, he thought it would be better to let the five Minccino do this, but it happened suddenly, and he hadn't prepared in advance.

Compared to humans, the Shuckle seemed less afraid of Dratini and Snivy, who were also Pokémon and appeared to pose no danger.

Under the continuous invitation and persuasion of Dratini and Snivy, the group of Shuckle, who had been observing from within their shells, finally moved.

They cautiously poked their heads out of their shells, carefully surveying their surroundings, observing the environment.

Finally, the Shuckle turned their gaze towards the humans in front of them.

Draconis took out a box of Berries from nearby and placed them in front of the Shuckle.

"As an apology, these Berries are for you to enjoy."

Seeing the Berries, the Shuckle's eyes immediately lit up, but then they looked at the humans in front of them with some caution.

"…Shuckle?"

Can they really eat these fruits?

Before Draconis could speak, Dratini nodded: "Woo!"

"Eat it." Draconis smiled and patted Dratini's head.

"Shuckle…"

The Shuckle's eyes brightened, but they didn't eat immediately. Instead, they used their tentacles to stuff the Sitrus Berry in front of them into the holes on their shells.

This is the special eating method of the Shuckle Pokémon; they only hide in their shells to slowly eat the Berries inside once they confirm that their surroundings are safe enough.
