One thing that I despise the most in this world is the humans, yet Sunntown still has the largest percentage of those pathetic humans running around and pro creating.
They're so weak, and I can't stand their wretched scent. They can't compare to us in any way possible.
My mom was killed by human werewolf hunters, trying to safe my life...so yes I'm a werewolf, and I just became Alpha of the Midnight Pack....the strongest among the other packs.
Tonight was going to be my night, being initiated into the Alpha family by the Alpha kings..under the full moon and get the moon goddess' blessings.
The full moon would be out by 8:00pm.
Tonight was going to be my night to find my mate, "soulmate" the one I'm bound to cherish, protect and spend the rest of my life with.
My Luna.
I was already eighteen,most alphas found their mates around my age.
Everything was going well, the ceremony was just right, until I heard a soft voice calling for help.
Somebody help me, please
I was the only one who could hear that voice, and I couldn't resist the pull. I wanted to help that person, whoever she was.... leaving my ceremony in between just for her.
In my wolf form, I ran as fast as I could, following the direction of the voice, curious to find out who that person was.
Whoever it was, she kept running away, I could hear her footsteps running away from me, but I still kept on chasing after her...until we both reached the cliff.
It was a night of a full moon.
No werewolf could stay in human form under a full moon, except for Alphas and Alpha kings..but this girl, she wasn't a werewolf, she didn't have our scent,...she was a human.
She turned and almost saw me, but before she could....she collapsed and fell to the ground.
I moved closer to her, shifted back to my human form and took a closer look at her. I touched her, and the moment I did, I felt a wave of electricity pass through me, one that never happened to me before. My heartbeat beyond normal.
Could she be the one, my mate?
Impossible, my theory...a werewolf could never mate with a human. How disgusting that would be!
She doesn't give off the scent of my mate either, and her human scent is too strong.
But this girl...she was very pretty in her sleep, she seemed so pure. For the first time in my life, I've liked a human. I wanted to help her, no matter what.
"Humans shouldn't be in Midnight Forest at this time" I heard a voice from behind me.
It was Edward, one of the alpha kings.
I should have known, he had something to do with this.
"What have you done to her?"I asked.
"What was needed to be done, no one has to know about our existence, especially not humans" he replied.
"Is she dead?" I asked, worried.
"No, but she won't awaken any time soon...until I want her to" he replied in a cocky voice.
Damn these Alpha kings.
"Let's go, the full moon is already out, we need to ...."I cut him off.
"We can't leave her alone here like this, something bad might happen to her" I said.
My protective and concerned side was surfacing for a mere human.
"Since when do you care about humans,Joshua?" He asked.
He was right, why did I start caring about her? I feel she needs my help, my protection but why? Why was I the only one who could hear her cry for help?
"I don't" I replied.
"Joshua, this night comes once in a lifetime, you can't drop it for the sake of a human girl...I promise, I'll let her go once you come back with me and get the initiation done"
Edward, he's a very clever man...until I go back, she'll stay like this...he might even kill her without a second thought.
"Fine, let's head back..."I replied before he walked away and shifted, running back into the woods.
"I promise, I'll come back for you" I whispered in her ear before shifting back to my wolf form.
Before I could even think of running away, the girl slowly opened her eyes....
She was awake??
No human had ever escaped the trance of an alpha king, and this girl? How was she able to break free?
Is she some kind of special human?

Skylar stared at the wolf standing in front of her, she couldn't explain what she saw.
The wolf's hazel eyes, glowing under the full moon and while staring back at her.
She was scared, and yet couldn't make any noise.
Her first idea was to run away....but Joshua spoke to her through his mind.
"Don't be scared...I won't hurt you"
"W..what are y..you, and how can you speak?"Skylar still couldn't digest the fact that a supernatural creature was standing before her.
She was even communicating with it, through her mind.
A mind link...
"I'm something you shouldn't have to come to know about..you shouldn't have come to the woods all on your own" Joshua replied.
"I don't know how I ended up here, I just want to go home, please"Skylar's face was pitiful,she needed someone to take her back home.
"I promise, if you help me get home, I won't tell anyone that you exist...please" she continued to beg.
As if any other human would believe her if she told them she saw a werewolf in the woods.
Joshua could easily erase her memories, he tried to do that the moment he stared into her eyes, but it didn't work.
"Follow me"
He was willing to give up his initiation ceremony and defy an Alpha king's order just for a human girl he'd just met.
He led her quietly through the forest and the woods,until she could see the road again.
The road she used from home.
"Alright, I've helped you but don't ever come back into the woods again, especially at night"Joshua said.
"Thank you...I won't ever do it again, but, I didn't even get your name, do you have a name?" Skylar asked.
She was scared at first, but the wolf seemed harmless....the least she could do in return for getting her home was ask for its name...
"Josh" the wolf replied.
"Josh, I'm Skylar...I guess this is goodbye, I won't see you again"Skylar said.
She smiled at the wolf, she felt a connection with it, a connection that she couldn't explain.
The wolf didn't reply anything, instead ran back into the woods from where it came from.
Skylar walked back home...but she could hear her step dad's voice at the door step...before she could even open the door.
"Where is that whore!! Where is she?"
She knew what was coming to her. She opened the door and her teary eyes met with his angry ones.
"Where were you? Have you become a whore like your mother huh!!" He shouted as he grabbed her by her shoulders and pinned her to the wall.
"Answer me!" He yelled again, slapping the life out of her.
"I'm sorry, I stepped out for a walk and got lost" Skylar replied.
It was already coming to 9:30pm.
"I'm sorry, I promise it won't happen again"she continued to apologize.
"Ofcourse you'd get lost, you're new to this place! I don't want you moving around again without my permission, do you understand!"her step father snapped at her.
"Yes, I won't" Skylar obediently replied...before she ran away from him.... rushing upstairs to her room.
But Hayley stopped her in her tracks.
"There you are, Skylar" she spoke, like Sky had taken something from her.
"What do you want from me?"Skylar's mood was already off.... seeing her made things worse.
"My dad said you'd run away, why did you come back?" Hayley asked, clearly mocking her.
"Is it because you're homeless and have no where else to go!" She continued pressing the issue.
Sky kept quiet, because she knew, if she retaliated, her step dad wouldn't let her off the hook.
"Don't you know how to speak, you're such a freak!" Hayley kept throwing hurtful words at her....
"Just leave me alone Hayley please" Sky pleaded...but Hayley didn't even try to stop...even if Sky begged.
"This is my house, I can do whatever I want with you here!"Hayley snapped at her.
Skylar was fed, she'd had enough of this father and daughter duo.
All the while, she avoided eye contact with Hayley, but in the next split second, she looked her straight in the eye...
Hayley froze, and stood still... senseless.
With her eyes giving off a commanding glow, she spoke fiercely.
"Stay the hell away from me,just go back to your room and don't come out again!"
The moment she stopped speaking, Hayley turned and walked to her room and shut the door.
Skylar was able to control someone and use them against their will....aside from feeling their deepest emotions.
That was still something she couldn't explain as well. She didn't know how she did it, but she found herself just doing it.
LATER THAT NIGHT
JOSHUA'S HOME
A small celebration was going on, among the Midnight Pack members.
Their Alpha had been fully initiated under the full moon, with the Moon goddess' blessings.
The night was still young for them, and the full moon had disappeared again.
Everyone else was having fun and drinking with their mates, including Luke, the Alpha's beta and his mate, Joselyn....the Alpha's twin sister.
Joshua was the only one without a mate, with only a body present, but his mind was somewhere else. He was still thinking about Skylar, the human he met in the woods.
They'd just met, yet he couldn't stop thinking about her.... ignoring the fact that she was a human.
"Joshua!!" His sister's voice brought him back to reality.
"What are you thinking about? I couldn't even contact you through the mind link we share as twins" she said.
"Sorry, I have a lot on my mind" he replied.
"Really! Is there something that you aren't telling me or Luke?"Joselyn asked.
She was curious. She found it odd to see her brother like this when a celebration was going on, he was more of a party person...loved drinking, doing all sorts of stuff... making his presence felt, but this time...he was the opposite.
Acting strange and so preserved, like he wasn't even around.
"There's nothing"he simply replied.
"Are you sad, because you still didn't find our Luna?" Joselyn asked again and the question made his facial expression change.
"Or did you?" Joselyn continued to ask.
The look on his face was a dead give away, how could he tell her that it was possible he mated with a human.
How could he answer that he felt so drawn towards a human girl he wasn't going to meet again....yet they both hated human kind.
What he had to feel for his mate, he felt it all for Skylar.
"I did find someone last night, but I won't meet her again" he finally replied... choosing his words carefully.
"So she wasn't your mate,or was she?"Joselyn was more than excited.
"I don't know what she was, she didn't have the scent..and yet I felt so drawn to her....I myself can't understand what I'm feeling right now"Joshua replied.
"Remember what mom once told us before she died, even if you can't recognize your mate by her scent...the hearts still connect...and I think, yours did to" Joselyn said.
She was the younger twin, but seemed to be the most sensible.
"She's a human Josie, and a werewolf can't mate with a human"
Atleast, that's what he thought.
