Chapter 4 - A Mystical Creature of the Forest

"In the end, the world will know everything in time." Said by the one who shall not be named

After the eventful night with Morina and Huntsman, they eventually decided to head back to the café to inform Xu about the events that had taken place today. Great news about Morina considering taking Huntsman under her wing as her son, to fill the emptiness that has plagued her for so long, thinking, let's give this another try. She longs for the day to be a mother again for a child, even if it were adopted.

Eventually, they made it home, welcomed to the noise of metal hitting grating against sheets of iron, as it seems that Xu is attempting to forge an item in the garage. Huntsman at the garage door pauses stupefied, while Morina is dumbfounded because Xu is just doing something completely different from her skill set. They both just click on the side button on the garage door located below.

BEEEEEEEP!

Rrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr!

"SHIT! SHIT! SHIT! SHIT!" said Xu as the surge she was applying to the sheets sparked in her face then.

BOOOOOOOOM!

"I think Xu is in a sticky situation," said Huntsman in amusement as his laughter could be heard through the garage.

"Maybe she expelled too soon, HRRRRRRR!" said Morina as she joined in with the comedy of the situation.

GRRRRRRR! Slowly, the garage door suddenly rises back up, revealing Xu in tarted clothing and a smoke dust brush neatly across her face. A blank expression with an annoyed look on her face.

Huntsman and Morina straighten slightly, as their laughter turns into blank expressions that maybe they took the situation a little too far.

"You two look amused at something. Tell me what the joke is?" Xu closed her eyes tightly, tilting her head slightly with a menacing smile on her face that could be recognized from a mile away, fake as a well-coated golden ring.

"Nothing! ERRRHR! Nothing! Nothing!" Said Morina and Huntsman as they smiled along, trying to de-escalate the situation, for it was getting a little too intense for anyone's liking.

"Anyways, you know what, what are you doing, Xu, you almost destroyed the garage trying to forge something with those pieces of iron," said Morina as she spoke, hoping that Xu would forget about being mad and explain herself.

"I was creating a new arm for Bob! He lost his previous one somehow, maybe I should have just waited for you to come home since it's your forge," said Xu as she acts frantic and disappointed in herself, her hands lower slightly, thinking she almost messed up everything.

"I mean is good you tried it yourself, but next time just wait on me because forging is an ascetic skill that requires patience and discipline. Simplicity and control are key when making anything you desire," said Morina, scolding her sister, but at the same time cares for her safety and well-being.

"Yea I, I will remember to wait, Uh man, I thought I really had it too," said Xu as she laughs it off slightly.

The night did not fall at once. It settled, inch by inch, like ink soaking into parchment. The gang just called it a night, heading inside as Morina finishes the arm for Bob. Xu and Huntsman had a meaningful conversation about the events that happened during the time out. Xu was excited to hear the news, supported it greatly, knowing her sisters suffered long enough without someone to call her son for a long time. As the night faded, remnants of dusk clung stubbornly to the horizon. Daytime arrived, and Huntsman and Morina were on the second day of training.

** In a secluded open area west of Fante in the forest spoken about before when the huntsman analyzed the café. **

"So, to begin, your first lesson will be about gathering surge within your body," said Morina as she grabbed a branch from the morning wood tree near her, saying, "Everything is made from surge in this universe, the earth, air, and liquid all harness some form of surge. The particles within anything have a natural surge that can expand or move frantically.

Basically, when a surge user uses their abilities, they can bend or manipulate matter naturally based on their abilities. Surge users can also absorb it into their bodies for later use in what is called a surger's surge capacity."

"So how do we channel this energy into our bodies?" said Huntsman in curiosity

"It's through our hearts, flame is a natural conductive medium that can grab the matter around us, creating or forming. Our flame heart bursts from the energy beating faster, our surge capacity makes it so that we don't exert the heart beyond its limit," said Morina

"All you need to do is develop an aura by channeling the energy, a glowing beam of light around your body appears, meaning you are collecting energy continuously. Your aura color is basically based on the 7 seven elements of the universe – Sun, Time, Void, Elemental, Dreams, Destruction, and Creation."

"For you, since your abilities is beast surge, meaning it's under the Creation category. Your aura is yellow or white, it depends, since you are a transforming type surger based on your records. So that means you probably have at least one form under your belt.

LET'S SEE IT."

Huntsman looks down, clenching his fist tightly as the gaze of Morina judges him slightly, and he smirks slightly as his head rises. "Have you ever heard of the urban legend, A monster that dwells in the forest, preying on the lost souls that enter its presence!"

"You got me interested now. What monster are we talking about here?" said Morina as she was intrigued by the little dialogue he sputtered out.

*Deep Breath* The wind in the air slowly surrounds Huntsman quickly as his chest begins to pound like a hammer on iron. The trees start to shake slightly, and the winds intensify as his very aura begins to appear as he shouts

"Wendigo, Wendigo, where did you go? The forest whispers your name

But his shadow walks alone."

------------------------------------------- In the Mind of Huntsman---------------------------------------

A being 10 ft in height sits on an iron throne made of swords, with ash of war painted in blood, carved into blades that hold the being up. A Wendigo, brown in color, resembling the forest itself, with orange glowing eyes that strike fear in the hearts of all that dear graze upon the mythical being." The being shifts slightly, putting his palm on his jaw, tilting his head slightly with a face of disgust as he spouts.

"So, soon, it's been like what, 3 years since I took over your body," said the Wendigo as his mouth snapped like a claw of an iron fist crab. "You know if you release me here, I must feed so is a deal of your bloodline."

"I will find a way to control you somehow, Beast Surge – Chains of Gathering," said Huntsman as he treads forward with a swing, dashing hard at the legs of the beast sitting before him. As the throne suddenly disappeared, the great being fell.

BANG! Clashing hard on the floor, smoke escaped like running gas as he couldn't get up, no matter how he struggled.

"Huntsman, a name fitting of a hunter that takes out the beast of the forest," said the Wendigo as his mouth snapped shut right after struggling to speak as the chain tightened.

"Taking my body that night sealed your fate. Fall. Grovel at my feet, reduced to the beast you always were." Said Huntsman with a stern look on his face as he pulls tightly on the chains holding the wendigo.

The Wendigo grunted in annoyance as he smiled slightly, saying. " I am thou, wore your body like winter wears the land. You survived – Do not mistake that for victory. I am you after all."

The wendigo instantly transforms with the shadow of brush ink slashing away his normal appearance, turning into a pale, corrupted, abstract purple husk of Huntsman, a mirror of him. The chain disappears in an instant with no trace of surge left. As he spouts

"The line between physical and mental determines one's ability to take any shape."

"You went berserk thinking you could tame the divine itself. Now your friend is my prey to devour in one swoop."

---------------------Back to the Normal World outside Huntsman Head-----------------------------

GRAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!!!!!!!!!!

"I mean, I did tell him to show me. What I didn't expect was for him to lose control," said Morina as she prepared to release her surge abilities.

"I AM HUNGRY MUST FEEED!"
