Chapter 15 - 15. Aftermath

The strategy of the lord of Insight was deemed succesful.

After half an hour of intensive fighting, The grand City of Turk was razed to the ground. The survivors of Turk managed to escape by breaking out of the encirclement at the cost of half the breakout force.

It was a devastating sight. Especially to those who had managed to break out of the city.

After the victorious Army retreated back to the territory of Ruth, the breakout army once again gathered at the ruins of their City.

Wherever their eyes could see, what met them was mountains of rubble, and a sea of bodies.

They walked around the once familiar streets, watching their destruction. Their eyes, once so vibrant were now filled with numbness and greif.

Finally, after a few more hours, the new emperor arrived at Turk, watching the devastated pearl of the empire in cold fury and grief.

He led his guards to the survivors who were currently sitting on the rubble of the Frandel's palace.

The leader looked up at their new emperor, yet his eyes held no reverence. "Forgive me, Emperor Norvick but the city of Turk can no longer welcome you with celebration."

His voice seemed full of mockery, perhaps to Norvick for arriving so late, or perhaps to himself for still calling this place a city.

"Whose clan member are you?" Norvick would not allow a commoner to insult him, not for any reason.

"Me? I am Secar Frandal, the current head of the Frandel clan, though frankly I hoped that I would have never gotten this position this way."

"What happened here? I only know the news that Ruth attacked Turkz but for it to fall this quickly...." Norvick's eyes narrowed in contemplation. To have such result, the first chain of though naturally connected to traitors, along with the fact that there were survivors of the leading clan, who now called himself the new head of the Frandal clan.

The guards behind the emperor naturally noticed their Emperor's suspicion. They instinctively put their hands on the hilt of their weapons, ready to strike down, should the people in front of them being identified as traitors.

At this moment, a voice called out from behind the emperor. It was the current general of Caldan and ..... A clan member of Frandel clan, Rus Frandel.

"My Emperor, I swear on my name that the members of Frandel can of many types, but absolutely No One frome Frandel would be a traitor!"

The Emperor did respond immediately, weighing his options. After a brief moment of silence, he declared his ruling. "Fine, I believe you. Go and talk with your clan, we will march to the borders at dawn...and enact out vengeance."

With that, he turned his guards away, going towards the army.

Secar looked at Rus, his mighty cousin and driely said, "My cousin, the Frandel clan is dead."

Rus face twisted from grief to fury at such 'traitorous' words. "Do you even understand what you are saying?!?!?! The Frandel clan will never die. This is a tradegy, that I cannot deny. But we should not declare the clan dead because of it. What about our service to the Great Empire of Caldan?!?!"

Hearing his cousin's words, Secar also snapped. "Service!? Open your eyes cousin, the Frandels have already done enough for this empire. it is about time that we start considering ourselves more."

"Then tell me you cowardly scum! What will you be if not a Frandel? What can you be without being a Frandel? I will not allow our great clan to die in such a pathetic way! We still have many branches around the empire, I will really then together, grant them the title of main clan, and lead the revival of Frandel! And then, I will personally decorate your heads on my trophy room."

"We are no longer Frandels, we will create a new clan, named after our great leader. The Helios Clan will withdraw from military service, and start engaging in other areas like forging, or commerce."

"So, you will run away." Rus declared calmly, his voice filled with disappointment.

Serac did not reply, because he knew that it was the truth.

And thus, a tale came about.

'The Frandel build their Glory in blood.

Helios ruled as the lion of Turk.

Yet what met his might was call of war.

Turk fell under Ruth's onslaught.

The Frandel fractured under this tragedy.

One filled with resentment and the other misery.

Helios came about as clan name.

Controlling the economy, the cowards filled with shame.

Frandel reignited the revival crusade.

Breaches were called, and the tree became whole again.

Yet the fire of vengeance burned away.

Frandel forever, resticted to military.

Though powerful, both know it well.

Unless united, Turk would never be built again.'
