Chapter 24 - Nothing Happened Here

"Do not touch my husband's stuff!" I commanded, my voice shaking with fury.

"He is my precious brother first," Adrian drawled, not even looking up as he flipped through another folder.

That's it.

I lunged forward, snatching a parchment right out of his hand. I clutched it to my chest, glaring at him.

"Step back!" I shouted. "You are not allowed to touch his belongings!"

Adrian stopped. He looked at his empty hand, then at me. His eyes narrowed in pure annoyance.

"Tsk. You are such a pain."

He flicked his fingers.

SNAP.

I didn't lose consciousness. Instead, my lips slammed together. It felt like invisible superglue sealed my mouth shut instantly.

"Mphhh! Mmphhh!"

I tried to scream, but no sound came out.

Then, ribbons of glowing purple energy materialized from thin air, wrapping tight around my wrists and binding my hands behind my back. He snatched the paper back from my paralyzed fingers with a sneer.

"Be quiet and stay put."

He turned back to the desk.
