The second they stepped outside the cave, they were ambushed.
Vanessa didn't recognize the ones who attacked.
But she absolutely recognized the person who ended up with the golden throne.
It was Shizuku.
In other words, one of Ronin's people. Right there in front of everyone, the golden throne simply vanished into the vacuum cleaner she held.

Ronin's idea was simple. Just like Naruto writing his name on the summoning scroll in the manga, he would leave his own name on it as well.
But before that, he still needed the giant serpent's mark on the scroll.
Ronin's understanding was that the serpent also had to leave its blood and Nen on the scroll, after which the scroll would be left with the serpent.
With that plan in mind, he strode toward the giant tree.
The serpent high in the branches bared its fangs at him again and let out a warning hiss.
Ronin showed zero intention of stopping. Even if the serpent resisted today, he was going to get its blood and Nen onto the scroll one way or another. If he had to force it, then he would force it.

In a short, sharp exchange, Ronin's numbers actually surpassed the serpent's. In a prolonged fight, however, if Ronin didn't open the Yin Seal, he would be completely outmatched.
The giant serpent never expected a human's raw strength could actually contest it.
Its thick tail failed to dodge the massive rock hand, but it hadn't really planned on dodging anyway. The instant it was grabbed, it exploded with even greater power.
From the look of it, the serpent fully intended to fling Ronin away like a rag doll.
It was destined to be disappointed.
The moment Ronin's rock hand closed around its tail, a new ninjutsu activated.

Rock began spreading across the serpent's tail. At the same time the tail itself grew enormously heavy. Forget about throwing Ronin—simply lifting the tail became nearly impossible for the serpent in that instant.
The sudden change sent a flash of confusion through the serpent's lantern-sized eyes.
But the real shock came next. Power erupted through Ronin's arm, and he started yanking the serpent down from the tree with raw force.
The moment the serpent realized what was happening, it stopped caring about the changes in its tail and rapidly coiled its body around the giant tree.
It tried to resist Ronin's strength that way.
But in the face of pure numbers, every choice it made was useless. The power stronger than its own simply dragged it down from the tree.
Once it was on the ground, the serpent immediately whipped its head around and spat a mouthful of venom straight at Ronin.
The completely colorless, water-like venom never even got close. A Water Style: Water Wall Technique rose in an instant and reversed the stream, slamming the venom right back into the serpent.
The giant serpent had no time to dodge. Driven by the water, the venom washed across its own body.
Even diluted, the venom still left a mass of corroded wounds across the serpent's scales in a single breath.
Ronin showed zero intention of stopping. The Water Wall vanished, and Susanoo erupted around him at the same moment. The giant skeletal hand shot straight for the serpent's weak point—the seven-inch spot on its body.
With medical ninjutsu as a safety net, as long as he didn't kill the serpent outright, Ronin could accept whatever happened.
Besides, the current situation was clear: if he didn't teach the serpent a proper lesson, it would never understand who was in charge here.
Susanoo's massive hand met almost no resistance as it slammed the serpent flat against the ground.
The serpent's body still thrashed with everything it had, but the rock spreading upward from its tail was already locking its movements down.

Rock giants rose to take over Susanoo's job of pinning the serpent in place. Ronin himself stepped closer and unrolled the scroll.
Getting blood was easy.
He could even just soak the scroll in the serpent's blood if he wanted. But how to leave the serpent's Nen inside the scroll—that was the real question.
Ronin quickly thought of a method.
Sealing jutsu!
The moment the idea formed, he simply tore a chunk of flesh and blood from the serpent's body and placed it on the scroll.
As the Four Symbols Seal activated, the piece of flesh still carrying the serpent's life energy slowly melted into the scroll and vanished completely.
Ronin could feel it—the moment that step was finished, the nature of the scroll itself had changed.
