Chapter 1 - Need a break!

Bzzz! Bzzz! Bzzz!

Her phone's alarm vibrated angrily on her nightstand.

It was a sunny morning with a clear weather.

But the weather was in stark contrast to Rayna's mood.

Rayna was a university student pursuing her higher degree and also simultaneously juggling part time jobs to earn some extra money.

But doing all this together was slowly taking a toll on her.

And she could feel it.

Her body was slowly getting drained and tired. She needed a break. But she couldn't afford to take any at the moment.

"Argh! I forgot to take my medicine for migraine last night. Now my head is a mess." Her natural wavy black hair was like a bush, and she had dark circles under her eyes.

Rayna checked the time on her phone.

"What! 8:30 A.M! If I don't get moving, I'll be late for class!"

Rayna quickly washed up, wore her usual baggy clothes, tied her hair up in a messy bun, took her bag, locked her door and immediately ran for her class. Her first class was with Ms. Shelly—strict, sharp and obsessively punctual.

She was very very particular with time in her class.

She didn't tolerate a student being even 5 minutes late to her class.

As Rayna rushed to her classroom, she realized the class has already started. She didn't want to start her already miserable day with more criticism from Ms. Shelly. So, she tried to slowly sneak in the class. But she failed drastically in her attempt.

Why did she have to lose balance and trip at that very moment! Ahh so embarrassing!

"I think I made myself clear at the start of the year. I absolutely DO NOT like latecomers. Rayna I'll not give any attendance to you for this class!" Ms. Shelly shouted.

"Great! What a motivation to start my already miserable day", Rayna thought. Despite all this, she took notes diligently, and as soon as the class ended, she rushed to her part time job.

Her stomach was grumbling. She didn't even have time to have a glass of milk this morning. But it's not lunchtime yet. She worked hard in the convenience store and at lunchtime quickly bought a sandwich and gobbled it up. "Mhm, in hunger anything you eat feels like heaven".

Then again, she checked the time, and she had to rush to her university to submit her project. She made a run and reached within time. Good for her she was able to submit it without any hindrances.

At the end of the day, she dragged her feet to her dorm. Totally drained, tired, and the customer at the cafe of her last part time job was a total trash!

She threw herself on her bed and gave a big sigh. "I really need a break. I'm not a machine, I need to relax too. I wish I could go on a trip, enjoy yummy food, and just lie there."

But she didn't have time or money to go anywhere for now. To declutter her mind, she pulled her phone out and started reading her favorite manhwa. It was about the beastworld where females are treated like queens, pampered and the most interesting part.

AHEM! "I can take as many handsome beastmen as I want. It's my fantasy, after all." Rayna thought. (♡ω♡ )

Rayna dreamed of a world like that. She'd just lie down there, no rushing to part time jobs or handling assignment deadlines. Just lay there and receive the love of handsome beastmen.

And ahem! maybe something more too. Hehee! Rayna giggled.

She didn't date anyone in real life because of her hectic schedule and well none of the boys ever caught her eye much. Plus, she had serious trust issues. She only fantasized about fictional characters and played scenarios in her head. In the beastworld, handsome men surrounding her, Oh what a delectable dream!

As she was scrolling, she suddenly felt a sharp pain in her head. She clutched her head, a sharp pain in her chest as well. "Wait, why is this happening? Is this because I haven't been getting much sleep, or my migraine? But this pain is unlike any I've felt before. Why is it so intense?

Suddenly, drip, drip!

She looked down. Small red drops on her phone's screen. Her nose was bleeding.

She suddenly felt dizzy. She tried to get up to grab her medicine, but her body slumped sideways, and she collapsed on the floor. Her consciousness slowly fading. "Wait, no! I didn't even go for a trip to the sea beaches yet. And that chocolate ice-cream tub is still unopened in my fridge, I need to eat it...I should have taken a break earlier." Rayna murmured.

Slowly her eyes felt heavy, and she closed her eyes. Everything went black.
