Chapter 23 - Awake And Lost

Alora's POV

"You have to wake up, Alora." Someone called out to me and I turned to see my mother standing at a distance, her beautiful face drawn in a sad smile.

Her eyes expressed pain and staring at them made me realize how hurt she must've been. I rushed to meet her but Is pushed back by an unforseen force that caged me in like a barrier, not allowing me to walk through.

"I can't meet you." I whispered with tear filled eyes, stretching my hands out towards her but she didn't reciprocate. I could tell that she was fighting back the urge to do so.

"If I hold you," She started, her voice breaking with every word she uttered. "I am scared that you will never wake up Alora and I need you to wake up."

"I cannot mother," I shook my head in refusal. "I cannot go back there. There is nothing waiting for me back there. I cannot leave you alone again."
