Chapter 215 - PREPARING FOR A NEW FILM

If it had been Rachel McAdams two years ago saying something like that, Matthew might have seriously considered it, and there was a possibility he would have agreed, but now, this Rachel McAdams was no longer the Rachel McAdams he knew two years ago.

Time and circumstances always change people.

"Aren't we doing great right now?" Matthew's meaning was clear, "This has been an unforgettable afternoon."

Rachel McAdams's gaze moved downwards, "Indeed... unforgettable!" She twisted her body, guiding Matthew, "Second intersection, turn right, stop in front of that burger shop."

Matthew slowly pulled the car to a stop in front of the burger shop. Rachel McAdams unbuckled her seatbelt, pointed upstairs, "I live on the second floor, the room directly facing the stairwell. You're welcome to visit anytime."

The implied meaning of her words was very clear, and Matthew naturally understood. He said, "Your bicycle is still at my place. You're welcome to pick it up anytime."

Rachel McAdams smiled again, revealing her dimples, "I'll call you in advance when I go." She pushed open the car door and got out, then leaned back in as she closed the door, saying, "Riding at your place felt amazing! Never felt anything so great!"

Matthew looked particularly confident, "There's even better."

Their words carried meanings only they understood. After a few more exchanges, Rachel McAdams closed the car door and turned to walk towards the apartment building by the roadside.

Matthew watched her graceful back and, recalling the intense battle of the afternoon, suddenly felt that this Rachel McAdams was actually quite good. Sexy body, sweet face, and most importantly, highly skilled. This kind of temporary bed partner, without emotional entanglement or responsibility, was perfect for expending his excess energy.

As he continued his exercise routine for longer periods, he started to resemble most athletes, with very vigorous hormone secretion.

He didn't have a girlfriend now, so he couldn't just rely on his five fingers, could he?

Matthew didn't go home. He drove around North Hollywood for a while. Perhaps it was because he hadn't had that kind of life for too long, and the afternoon had been incredibly satisfying. While driving, his mind was filled with the wild scenes with Rachel McAdams from earlier. He simply pulled over to calm down for a bit, found a place to eat dinner, and as his emotions gradually settled, he drove to Hollywood Boulevard, planning to go to the Black Mamba Bar to have a drink with Johnny Depp.

At the same time, in an office belonging to Walt Disney, Anderson Martinez, the producer in charge of publicity, had not yet left work because the agents of the two lead actors had come to see him together.

The three had been chatting for a while. Anderson Martinez looked at Helen Herman and Jaime Bainster, who were sitting opposite his desk, and said, "This is a common publicity tactic in Hollywood. We had originally considered it, but hesitated out of consideration for Ms. Keira Knightley's age…"

Helen Herman and Jaime Bainster exchanged glances, understanding that this matter should be settled.

Anderson Martinez first asked Helen Herman, "Mr. Matthew Horner has no objections?"

"I've discussed it with Matthew."

On the way back to Los Angeles from the Caribbean, Helen Herman had already talked to Matthew about this, "He fully agrees."

Anderson Martinez then asked Jaime Bainster, "And Ms. Knightley? I recall she's not yet eighteen. Do her family agree?"

Jaime Bainster replied directly, "They all have no problem. We can wait until Keira's eighteenth birthday."

Keira Knightley's parents were already in the entertainment industry and had seen plenty of such things. Since they were comfortable letting their daughter enter Hollywood, they were naturally mentally prepared, and it didn't take much effort for him to persuade them.

Compared to that, Keira Knightley herself was a bit more troublesome, but she was a smart girl. After analyzing the pros and cons, she also nodded and agreed.

When you're in Hollywood and the entertainment industry, what's a little thing like this?

"Alright then, I also agree in principle to such a publicity plan. It benefits both the film and the actors." Anderson Martinez clearly had more to say, "But this is not something I can decide on my own. I will report this to Mr. Jerry Bruckheimer."

Helen Herman and Jaime Bainster had no objections to this; it was not something Anderson Martinez could fully decide on his own anyway.

Jaime Bainster asked, "How long will it take? We need a rough idea for our preparations."

"Probably a week or longer."

The two in front of him were the agents of the two main protagonists, so Anderson Martinez specifically explained, "Mr. Jerry Bruckheimer is currently busy with other work and won't be coming to the set for now. I will send him an email specifically about this, but it will probably have to wait until he returns to be handled."

"No problem," Jaime Bainster said magnanimously, "We'll wait."

For a golden producer like Jerry Bruckheimer, agents, including those from large agencies, treated him like a god.

Jaime Bainster was only focused on answering, but Helen Herman, from Anderson Martinez's inadvertent remark, heard something interesting.

Mr. Jerry Bruckheimer is currently busy with other work? What kind of work?

Helen Herman just thought about Jerry Bruckheimer's identity as a producer and his work habits in recent years, and she had a rough guess.

"Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl" hadn't even finished filming, and Jerry Bruckheimer was already preparing to start something new. During the filming of "Pirates of the Caribbean," he had simultaneously pushed forward two projects. Now that more than half of the filming was complete, what kind of work could he be busy with? Most likely, he was preparing a new film!

If that were truly the case, what would be the subject matter of this new film? What kind of protagonist would it feature? Would it be suitable for her agency's clients?

Helen Herman's mind was extremely sharp, and a series of ideas flashed through her mind instantly.

However, with Jaime Bainster there, she couldn't ask too many questions and continued with the purpose of her visit today.

It wasn't a very complicated matter, just asking that the crew's publicity resources not be too heavily biased towards Johnny Depp, and that there should be some investment in Matthew and Keira Knightley, striving for publicity resources for Matthew and Keira Knightley that weren't too far off from Johnny Depp's.

Actor promotion combined with film promotion is far more effective than dry self-promotion. Not to mention the inevitable boost from the work itself, the massive media platform of Walt Disney alone is something no agency can compare to.

This aspect involved many areas such as posters, soft articles, subtitles, and hard advertisements, which Anderson Martinez also could not decide on and would have to wait for Jerry Bruckheimer to return before handling.

Helen Herman and Jaime Bainster knew before they came that Anderson Martinez couldn't make the final decision, but they still chose to approach him because they wanted to use him to give Jerry Bruckheimer an early heads-up. After all, Jerry Bruckheimer was not just any producer; with his current achievements and status in commercial entertainment films, even Michael Ovitz, the founder of CAA, would have to respectfully defer to him.

This way, there would be a buffer between the two sides, preventing things from becoming too rigid if they couldn't agree. Few entertainment agents wanted to have conflicts with a producer like Jerry Bruckheimer.

They talked until almost nine in the evening before Helen Herman and Jaime Bainster took their leave. The specific details were mostly clear, and they just needed Anderson Martinez to relay them to Jerry Bruckheimer.

Leaving the project office area, Jaime Bainster gave Helen Herman another look. This woman's tall, slender body was hidden within a dark business suit, her cool and elegant face almost completely obscured by large, black-rimmed glasses, and even her beautiful, smooth blonde hair was tied into the most common ponytail at the back of her head. But these details couldn't fully conceal her charm.

"It's still early…" Jaime Bainster attempted to invite her, "Helen, want to find a place for a drink?"

Helen Herman directly refused, "Sorry, I don't have time tonight." As the two approached the elevator, she added, "I need to go to the restroom. You go ahead, don't wait for me."

After speaking, without waiting for Jaime Bainster to react, she turned directly into the hallway leading to the restroom.

Jaime Bainster shrugged, entered the elevator, and left.

In just over ten seconds, Helen Herman emerged from the restroom hallway and returned to Anderson Martinez's office.

Anderson Martinez saw her push the door open and come in, asking curiously, "Helen, why are you back? is there something else?"

"Yes, there is something." Helen Herman pulled out the chair from before, sat opposite Anderson Martinez, and said, "is Jerry preparing a new project?"

"Yes," Anderson Martinez didn't deny it, "Jerry is planning a new big production with Disney Pictures."

He raised his hand to stop Helen Herman, who was about to ask another question, "Don't ask about the specifics. Even if you ask, I won't tell you, and what I know is very limited."

Helen Herman didn't make it difficult for Anderson Martinez, saying, "Thank you."

She stood up to leave and quickly exited the Disney headquarters building. After getting into her Mercedes, she instructed the driver to go back to Angel Agency first, then raised the partition between the front and back compartments and pulled out her phone to make a call.

Jerry Bruckheimer's new project, and it was a big production. If possible, she didn't want to miss it.

Before long, Helen Herman got through to a high-ranking executive at Disney Pictures. After a brief conversation, the other party said, "Jerry took two screenwriters to Washington. Reportedly, they're going to examine some important historical documents. I'm not very clear on the specifics myself."

Helen Herman hung up the phone and immediately understood. It should be similar to "Pirates of the Caribbean." Jerry Bruckheimer only had an idea; the script hadn't even begun to be written...
