Chapter 10 - Ten

Elana.

I was in the kitchen making dinner when Efanell walked in with something in his hand.

Father and Efanell had gone to a meeting of all the men in the pack concerning an event to be held in the near future.

I was alone in the house, but luckily, didn't encounter any abnormal activities or stalkers.

He dropped the letter on the kitchen center table, "You got something in the mail,"

My heart skipped a bit when he said Mail. I remembered the first letter I had received from Alex just recently.

I quickly looked over at the mail to check if it was still sealed or if it had been opened.

"Don't worry, it hasn't been opened. But if Father had seen it first, then it would've been opened," he laughed.

I laughed uncomfortably.

"Who is it from?" he asked. Oh, so he didn't check the sender's address. That's a relief.

I picked up the letter and checked the address. It didn't have one.

That's odd. Why would someone send me a letter without a sender's address? How would I know who to write back to?

"Who's it from?" he asked again, more curious this time.

"Oh, it's from… Salma," I lied. I couldn't say no one because the last time I involved him in the mysteries happening in my life, he just brushed it off.

"That betrayer. Don't write her back," he suggested.

"I won't," I said with a forced smile. He gave me a pat on the head and left the kitchen.

I finished up with dinner and went into my room to open the letter. Curiosity was all I could feel.

'Elana my love,

I miss you every day. I can not keep pretending like you are not the love of my life.

The one I married is not the one for me. I want you, Elana, I have been checking on you.

I got goosebumps from the last words. Who is this stalker? They said the one they married was not for them, this could be any of my past lovers or even a secret admirer.

I will never forget you, my love.

Hopefully, one day you will accept my love. Goodbye now.'

There was a drawing of a pink tulip right below the letter.

These pink tulips have me more intrigued than anything else. Because I'm convinced it is Maxwell, but how sure can I be?

I squeezed the letter and tossed it in the trash. I am definitely not interested in any more love complications.

Whoever this person is, they can find a new love. I'm unfortunately not interested.

So that means this stalker is an obsessive one… I'm starting to get scared.

Alex.

I had just escorted Merlin to the car that awaited her. She was leaving today. Finally!!

I miss my younger sister, but she makes me feel a little too old when she's around.

I'm only 33, I shouldn't be taking care of drunk girls or playing a father figure.

She found a lover in another pack and didn't want to inform me because I would get mad.

Of course, I was angry, but she's grown now. And luckily it was a pack we had an alliance with.

After dropping her off, I went into my office to get some work done. Being an Alpha comes with enough wealth.

But there's nothing like too much wealth. So I founded a business.

I poured wine into a glass and sat in my office chair. Sipping on the wine, I thought about young Elana.

I've never had one like her. And her father happens to be my long-distance best friend.

We haven't really been in touch lately. The last time I spoke with him was on our business trip.

Edward White. A very harsh man, almost harsher than myself.

If he could say such horrible things about his own daughter. Then killing a random person won't be much stress.

It's been almost three weeks since I last saw Elana. Merlin overstayed her welcome.

Elana came one weekend, but I sent her back, and she hasn't come ever since. Sexual tension has been high lately.

I need to let it out, but I don't want to summon Elana because it's not the weekend yet. Besides, I don't want to get attached.

She may have the best feel. But I wouldn't know who's better if I didn't explore. Maybe try someone who isn't that much younger than me.

My club. There should be lots of women willing to get into my bed. Besides, they all lust over their good-looking Alpha.

"You want to try another type of meat?" Alex, my wolf, asked.

I chuckled at his choice of words.

"Yes, Alex. I want to try new meat, I need it right now. This is the longest I've gone without having a woman in my bed," I reminded.

"Yes, you perverted gigolo. I know that. But how about the young maiden Elana?" he asked.

"You like her?" I asked him.

"Mmm not like per se. But she excites us very well. And something about her," Alex said.

There's something about her alright. I remembered how I was able to read her thoughts the other day.

"How did you know I referred to you as Alpha Alex? I was speaking to my wolf, How did you hear?"

I know exactly why I could hear her, but I refuse to accept it. Besides, the moon goddess makes mistakes. Take Mel for example…

I need to get my mind off this nonsense.

Dropping my wine on the table, I went into the office bathroom to rearrange my look and summoned a driver.

The old Alex is coming back. I have become too soft-hearted.

********

As I sat in the VIP area of the club. I watched the various skimpily dressed women dance out of the beat.

The sight of them flaunting over any male they came across made me pissed.

Why couldn't they just be like Elana? That innocent girl would never give attention to these men.

I held the bridge of my nose as I realized I was thinking about her again.

I was so lost in my thoughts I didn't know when someone sat by me, "Is everything okay sir?" They asked.

I looked at the woman. Face full of makeup, her dress barely covering her female parts. All I could feel was disgust.

"Who let you in here? Get out," I ordered. She just stared at me like I had spoken gibberish.

"I said get out!" I said out of anger. For some reason, everyone pissed me off today.

What is this girl doing to me? The woman who sat by me scrambled out of my presence, fear visible in the way she ran away.

I sat pressing my back on the sofa and crossed my arms. I need to tolerate these people for just a few hours if I want to be successful with this plan.

Brushing a hand through my hair I asked a guard to bring back the woman who I chased away.

A few minutes later the guard came back with the woman. Her head was down and she avoided making eye contact with me.

"What's your name?" I asked. I couldn't care less about the name her parents decided to give her.

But I only asked to be courteous. She said something but I couldn't hear her over the loud music, and I didn't bother asking her to repeat herself.

I tapped on the space beside me and she sat. "How old are you?" I asked, this is the only information I'm interested in.

"I'm 28 sir," she responded. That's close enough, so I'll make do with that.

"You shall return with me to my mansion," I told her.

Her face lit up at my command. I became even more irritated at her willingness to follow me back to my place without hesitation.

But I'm doing this for a reason so I'll let it slide. I asked a waiter to attend to her needs and some minutes to midnight I requested a driver.

When we got to the mansion I escorted the desperate woman to my room and without wasting any time she began to undress.

She was overly drunk. Couldn't even form proper sentences, but one thing I know is she wanted the same thing I did.

She fell on the bed and I got undressed as well.

Here goes my self-respect. All because of my best friend's daughter.
