The road to Reidan was a true desert. It was filled with countless monsters around level 300—Desert Worms, Desert Toads, Cacti Beasts, and even Desert Scorpions.
Because of this, Alan spent days hunting nonstop. Thanks to his massive grinding, his level rose steadily, eventually reaching level 276. However, the constant battles also delayed his journey, costing him several extra days before he finally arrived at Reidan.
When he did, the city was in far worse condition than he had imagined.
"The people here are starving," Alan muttered.
Piaro nodded as he looked around at the exhausted and malnourished citizens.
"I sensed several water veins outside the city," Piaro said. "If I dig them up, they can at least irrigate fields and start growing their own food."
Alan turned to him.
"You can do that?" he asked.
Piaro nodded.
"Then how about you stay here for a while and farm with them?" Alan suggested. "Think of it as a training."
Piaro looked at him for a moment, then nodded.
"Alright."
"Then get yourself settled here. I'll take this city under my name," Alan said before leaving Piaro behind to begin his work.
Ten days later, Alan returned.
By Authority of the Earl Steim, Alan was officially appointed as the Viscount, with Reidan City placed under his rule.
At the same time, he obtained his first noble title.
Viscount
• Charm +200
• New Stats Unlocked: Dignity and Charm.
"You're back," Piaro said.
Alan looked at him. Piaro was now dressed in simple farming attire, working the fields alongside the other citizens.
"I also brought some rations and farming equipment," Alan said, gesturing behind him.
At his signal, several NPCs arrived, riding wagons loaded with supplies.
"Along with some farmers to help you," Alan added, pointing at the NPCs behind him.
"Hm. They will help a lot," Piaro nodded.
Before he could say more, a fat man came running over, followed by several city guards.
"Lord, welcome! I am the administrator of this city," he said, wiping sweat from his face.
Alan looked at the man carefully—then glanced at the malnourished citizens around him.
"Did you eat all the city's food by yourself?" Alan asked calmly.
"Huh?" The man looked confused.
"You're fired. Fuck off," Alan said coldly.
The man's face turned pale.
"N-no! I took care of the city all this time! How can you fire me?"
Alan turned to the guards.
"I am the city lord now. Take this pig and throw him in jail."
The guards stiffened—and immediately moved to obey.
"No! You can't!" he cried as he was dragged away.
"In a few days, someone named Rabbit will arrive," Alan said to Piaro. "He's the administrator I've assigned here."
Piaro nodded, remembering.
"From your White Lion Company, right?" he asked.
Alan smiled.
"Yes. Though the old company won't move, it will remain separate from Reidan." He handed Piaro some additional instructions and left.
"Okay… now time to level up a bit more, just to be safe," Alan mumbled as he headed back into the desert.
He called out to Sapphire to help him train. As always, Sapphire the Memphis Cat was extremely powerful.
"Nyaa~ time to eat!" he said energetically. Alan nodded.
Another month passed. Alan looked at his level—Level 287.
"It's really difficult to level up…" he muttered, resting from his constant battles.
I know… Elfin Stone guards the place where Mumud is, and he's the main reason I'm hesitating, Alan thought. Elfin Stone was one of the Direct Descendants of the Great Demon of Predation, ranked third among the Great Demons in Hell.
Beriache, though exiled from Hell, had sought revenge by siring many children—making her essentially the Mother of All Vampires.
Elfin Stone, being her direct child, was therefore extraordinarily powerful.
I want to remain undefeated… but Grid is already in Winston. Soon, the book scenario will play out, meaning Huroi will also appear and acquire the Second Class, becoming the first player to obtain it, Alan thought.
The first Second Class title grants two extra stat points per level-up… I can't miss that, especially if I want to take the undefeated king class in future.
I have to take the risk, Alan decided, standing up as his stamina regenerated.
It's now or never.
Alan took a deep breath as he looked at the cave in front of him.
"The last two vampire cities didn't have Mumud… I hope this one does," Alan muttered as he stepped inside, already knowing that this city would contain Mumud, along with a powerful boss—unlike the last two cities, 14 and 15, which only had two True Vampires as bosses.
At the S.A. headquarters, most of the team was watching him. As Morpheus already have announced soon the first Player to obtain second class will appear.
Making whole team curious who and how will that player obtain the second class.
"He already has the minimum level required to obtain the Second Class," Lim Cheolho mumbled. "Plus, the Legendary Class is higher than his primary Unique Class, which also meets the requirement."
There are two conditions to acquire the Second Class:
The player must reach a minimum level of 200.
The Second Class rating must be higher than the player's current class.
Alan met both conditions.
"Morpheus, what's his chance of defeating Elfin Stone?"
[Player Alan: If no mistakes are made, he has a 100% chance of defeating Elfin Stone.]
"Huh? 100%? How is that possible? Doesn't Elfin Stone start with the skill that instantly kills anyone below level 500?" Lim Cheolho asked.
[Yes, but Player Alan has a skill that can help him survive it .]
[ Not to mention they might not even fight ]
Lim Cheolho looked at the skill as he nodded "It seems you are right , he will definitely gain the second class".
While back to Alan, he once again saw the familiar notification he saw in the last two cities when he entered first.
[You have entered the Vampire's Underground City (13).]
[The entrance of the dungeon is blocked. Contact with the outside world will be blocked.]
[You can't escape the dungeon until you have died or kill the dungeon boss.]
