Six months rent. Six entire months rent! That's how much was scribbled down on this flimsy little paper and handed to her like it was nothing. Actually, it was even worse, because they didn't even bother handing it to her.
They just left it in a box that... she almost threw out. Oh god! She had almost lost this much money!
Her joy briefly turned to panic and horror, before she got her emotions under control and reread the letter for the third time, all while keeping the check clutched tightly in her hand in case it mysteriously blew away.
After carefully reading over it, the letter detailed that this was payment for her in-game journal, the one she had been detailing all of her notes, thoughts and experiences during the beta test.
She actually still had that journal in her Bottomless Bag, but there was probably some way they could get the information from it.
