Chapter 3 - Chapter 3 The Loot Box Incident

HOPE YOU GUYS ENJOY CHAPTER 3

OF SEASON 1

____________________________________

The classroom was a portrait of human chaos.

Fatty Wei was trying to hide under a desk that was three sizes too small for him.

Mrs. Zhang was hyperventilating into a pile of graded homework.

The cool kids in the back were filming the purple sky on their phones, their hands shaking so hard the footage would be unwatchable.

Only two people were still.

Lin Xi, who was clutching her left wrist and staring at Han Jin as if he were a ticking nuclear warhead, and Han Jin himself.

[BING! Opening 'Novice' Loot Box...]

[Probability adjustment in progress... Error! Probability hijacked by User!]

[Rolling... Rolling...]

"Don't give me trash," Han Jin muttered. "I'm in a mortal shell. I don't have the patience to grind for 'Iron Scraps'."

[CONGRATULATIONS!]

[You have received a Unique-Grade Growth Item: 'The Emperor's Rusty Paperclip'.]

Han Jin's expression darkened. "A paperclip? System, I am five seconds away from ripping your core out and using it as a paperweight."

[System Note: Look closer, oh Grumpy One.]

[Item: The Emperor's Rusty Paperclip (Rank: ???)]

[Description: A tool that can 'link' anything together. Logic, space, or even two souls. Currentstate: Heavily Suppressed

Han Jin paused. He looked at the small, corroded piece of wire that had materialized in his hand.

A slow, dangerous smile spread across his face. Linking logic? That was a high-tier Law. This "System" was smarter than it looked,it was trying to bribe him.

"Fine. This will do."

He pocketed the clip just as the windows shattered.

It wasn't wind that broke them.

It was a sound, a high-pitched, screeching roar that felt like fingernails on a chalkboard multiplied by a thousand.

From the purple sky, a creature descended. It looked like a hairless, grey hound with six legs and a vertical mouth lined with rows of needle-teeth.

[Monster Identified: Void Scout (Rank: F-)]

[Danger Level: Fatal for Mortals.]

The creature landed on a desk, its claws shredding wood.

It locked its milky eyes on the nearest target: a girl named Suzie who was frozen in fear.

"Help!" she shrieked, but her voice died in her throat as the beast coiled to spring.

"Too noisy," Han Jin said.

He didn't run.

He didn't even stand up straight.

He simply flicked a piece of chalk he had picked up from Mrs. Zhang's desk.

In his hands, the chalk wasn't just calcium carbonate.

He had used the Paperclip's latent logic to "link" the trajectory of the chalk to the concept of "Inevitable Piercing."

Zip.

The chalk didn't just hit the monster; it went through its skull like a railgun slug.

The creature didn't even have time to whimper before its head exploded in a cloud of purple mist.

Its body slumped off the desk, dissolving into pixels.

The room went deathly silent.

[BING! You have slain a 'Void Scout'!]

[Experience Gained: 50. Level Up! Level Up!]

[Current Level: 3]

[Reward: 10 'Stat Points'.]

"Jin bro..." Fatty Wei poked his head out from under the desk. "Did you just... kill an alien with a piece of Chalk?"

"It was a high-quality chalk," Han Jin remarked, dusting his hands.

Lin Xi walked over, her face pale.

She ignored the dissolving monster and stared at Han Jin.

"That wasn't a System skill.

There was no mana fluctuation, no Skill Activation window.

You used... intent.

Who taught a human how to use Intent?"

Han Jin turned to her, his 'Max Charm' making the moment feel far more dramatic than it needed to be.

"The same person who taught you how to hide an Andromeda---grade soul in a school uniform, I imagine."

Outside, more screeches filled the air. Dozens of shadows were circling the school building.

The First Wave wasn't just one scout; it was a pack.

[BING! Emergency Quest: Guard the Testing Room!]

[Objective: Prevent any student deaths for 10 minutes.]

[Reward: 'Sovereign's Aura' Skill.]

[Failure: The System will play 'Baby Shark' in your head on a loop for a week.]

Han Jin's eyes twitched. "Baby Shark? You truly are a demonic entity."

He turned to the class.

The panic was rising again as more monsters landed on the window ledges.

"Listen up, mortals," Han Jin's voice boomed, vibrating with a sliver of his former Emperor's authority.

Even the monsters paused.

"If you want to live, stay behind my desk. If you move, I'll link your shoelaces to the moon and see how fast you fly."

He walked toward the shattered window, the rusty paperclip spinning between his fingers.

"System," Han Jin whispered. "Dump all 10 stat points into Strength. I'm tired of using office supplies to kill things.

I want to feel the crunch."

[Strength: 4 -> 14]

[Warning: Sudden muscle density increase may cause discomfort!]

Han Jin felt his bones pop and his muscles tighten.

To him, it felt like a mild stretch.

To the students, he suddenly looked like a predator that had been released from a cage.

A monster leaped through the window, jaws wide.

Han Jin didn't dodge.

He reached out, caught the beast by its throat mid-air, and squeezed.

CRUNCH.

The beast's neck snapped like a dry twig.

"Next," Han Jin said, looking out at the army of monsters.

"I'm starting to get hungry, and the sooner I finish this, the sooner I find a decent bowl of noodles."
