Chapter 24 - Chapter 23 The Geometry Of the Ladle

Varkas didn't wait for a formal challenge. The Meat-Grinder shrieked, its rotating blades spinning so fast they blurred into a solid wall of jagged obsidian.

He swung the weapon in a diagonal cleave, aiming to split Han Jin from shoulder to hip.

"Die, Legacy Remnant!"

Han Jin didn't retreat.

He stepped into the strike.

To the soldiers watching from the barricades, it looked like suicide.

But Han Jin was seeing the world through the Elysian Tuning Fork's resonance.

He saw the vibration of the spinning blades...a chaotic, jagged frequency.

He struck the side of the Grinder with his ladle.

TING

The sound was small, but it was perfectly out of phase with the Grinder's rotation.

The massive weapon jolted, its internal gears screaming as Han Jin's "Culinary Intent" acted like a handful of sand thrown into a delicate engine.

"What?!" Varkas growled, his arms vibrating from the feedback.

"Your weapon relies on momentum," Han Jin said, his voice calm amidst the carnage. "But momentum is just a series of repeated mistakes.

If I break the rhythm, your Grinder is just a heavy spinning top."

Varkas roared, his Crimson Aura exploding outward.

He wasn't just a warrior; he was an Asura, a being born from the concept of struggle.

He pulled back and slammed the ground, sending a wave of blood-red energy toward Han Jin.

"Link," Han Jin whispered.

He touched the Rusty Paperclip to the surface of the ladle.

"Link the Ground to the Liquid in my pot."

Suddenly, the solid asphalt beneath Han Jin's feet behaved like the surface of a deep pond.

The shockwave from Varkas's strike hit the water and simply rippled away, losing all its destructive force as it dispersed into the earth.

"Enough tricks!" Varkas lunged, his speed doubling.

He began a flurry of strikes, the Grinder creating a vacuum that pulled Han Jin toward the blades.

Han Jin spun the ladle.

He wasn't just blocking; he was stirring.

With every movement of the ladle, he redirected the air, the dust, and Varkas's own momentum.

He was treating the entire courtyard like a giant soup, and Varkas was the tough piece of meat that needed to be tenderized.

"Lin Xi! The Fork!" Han Jin shouted.

From the doorway, Lin Xi threw the Elysian Tuning Fork into the air.

Han Jin caught it with his left hand and jammed it into the hollow handle of his ladle.

The blue fire on the ladle turned into a blinding white sun.

[BING!]

[Skill Activated: The Perfect Clarification]

Han Jin thrust the ladle forward, tapping the very center of Varkas's spinning weapon.

BONG...

The sound was like a temple bell heard at the bottom of a canyon.

The Meat-Grinder didn't just stop; it shattered.

The obsidian blades flew outward, embedding themselves in the concrete walls of the GSDI, while the central cylinder disintegrated into fine black powder.

Varkas was thrown back, his Crimson Armor cracking.

He lay in a crater, gasping for air, the red glow in his eyes fading into a dull, confused flicker.

"The... the resonance..." Varkas wheezed. "You didn't use power.

You used... the world's own pulse against me."

Han Jin walked to the edge of the crater.

The ladle was glowing softly, the Tuning Fork humming a satisfied note.

"I told you," Han Jin said, looking down at the defeated Asura.

"Your weapon was blunt.

You were fighting the universe instead of dancing with it."

Suddenly, a new sound pierced the air. It wasn't a bell or a roar.

It was a slow, rhythmic clapping coming from the top of the GSDI command tower.

Han Jin looked up.

Standing on the edge of the roof was a man in a crisp white lab coat, holding a tablet.

He looked completely out of place, yet his presence felt more dangerous than the Asura

"Remarkable," the man said, his voice projected through the courtyard.

"Varkas was always too focused on the Grind. But you, Han Jin... you've successfully integrated Elysian physics with Ninth Heaven intent.

You're exactly the data point I was looking for."

Han Jin narrowed his eyes.

"Another Developer?"

"Oh, no," the man smiled, tapping his tablet. "I'm the Admin's intern.

And I'm afraid the Second Beta just received its first Balance Patch.

Since you're so good with a ladle, let's see how you handle a world where Liquid no longer exists."

The water in the GSDI fountains instantly turned to dry sand.

The moisture in the air vanished, leaving everyone gasping as their throats turned to parchment.

"Checkmate, Chef," the intern said.
