Chapter 12 - sports

Today is Friday night.

The football game is about to start.

I crack open a beer while my wife sits beside me.

She doesn't like sports.

But she likes spending time with me.

I watched the game as my wife ended up taking a nap against my shoulder.

My wife is adorable!

The game on TV does not seem interesting anymore.

I slowly put down my beer and wrap my arms around my wife.

I hug my wife and make sure she's snug.

My wife sleeps for most of the game.

She started to stir around halftime.

She was grumpy.

I grab the remote, careful to not jostle her. Then I turn down the volume of the tv.

"You awake, love?" I speak soflty.

She grumbled sleepily.

"Hungry…"

I smile and press a soft kiss to the top of her head.

"Want me to make you a snack?"

"Nooooo…" she whined.

"You might need to make up your mind, love."

"No… don't go…" she clung tighter to me.

I smile and chuckle lightly.

"I'm just going to the kitchen… I'll be right back with your food."

Things escalated quickly from there. Soon we were yelling.

"Don't you leave me!!" She yelling, still clinging to me. Her legs around my waist and her hands gripping my shirt.

"I'm just going to get you a snack!" I shout back.

"I knew you were cheating on me!"

My face dropped.

"YOU THOUGHT I WAS WHAT!?!"

She pointed at me

"You were getting close to that female colleague! I knew you were cheating!"

I felt my heart sank.

"I would never!"

Things escalated even more…

I held her and I stood up with my wife in my arms. I walk to the kitchen and find a box of chocolates I hid for this sort of situation.

I hand the box to her.

"Here, you're never yourself when you're hungry."

She takes it and grumbled

"I forgive you… for now."

"I'll take it as a win." I reply.
