Chapter 16 - Chapter 16 : Destruction Damn it, my throne has been moved!

The God of Destruction stood with a calm and steady gaze. Beside him, the Goddess of Life appeared, and he gently took her hand in his. His voice was quiet and peaceful as he spoke to her, confirming that the world they were looking at was indeed the Douluo Plane. He watched the projection closely, his eyes drawn to three very bright spots of Luck that stood out from everything else.

The God of Destruction had only noticed Tang San's sudden movements because this world had become far too bright to ignore. Normally, a world's Plane Will can only support one Son of Luck at a time. It is a heavy burden for any world to handle. Yet, even before the trouble today, the Douluo Plane was already supporting two different sources of great destiny.

The first was the Three-Eyed Golden Lion, known as the Imperial Auspicious Beast, who lived deep within the Star Dou Great Forest. This creature held about twenty percent of the world's total Luck. Because it was a Spirit Beast, its influence was mostly felt by the creatures living within that forest.

The second source was a young boy who had not yet truly started his journey. He was from the same clan as the God of War, a second-class Divinity. This child held a massive amount of Luck—eighty percent of everything the Douluo Plane had saved up over the last ten thousand years.

The energy around him was so thick it was almost easy to see. Under normal circumstances, someone with that much destiny would easily become a powerful god on their own, just like the First Sea God or the First Angel God had done in the past.

The God of Destruction used to think Tang San was just very lucky to have such a gifted world under his care. He figured Tang San would eventually get many strong followers from these talented people. He also worried that if the Douluo Plane kept producing such heroes, they would all join Tang San's side and make it harder for the God of Destruction to expand the God Realm as he wished.

However, as he looked closer, he realized something was wrong. Usually, a Plane Will is very friendly toward a Divinity who originally came from that world. It is like a mother seeing her child grow up and become successful. This is why the rules say a Divinity should watch over the world they ascended from. But that was not what was happening here.

When Tang San tried to send his Divine Thought down, the Plane Will reacted with fear and shock. It was not a happy reunion. Instead, it looked like a mother catching a son trying to sneak back home to steal her money. She had picked up a broom to chase him away. This proved to the God of Destruction that Tang San's relationship with his home world was broken.

It made no sense for the Plane Will to suddenly create a third Son of Luck unless it was desperate. It made even less sense for Tang San to try and kill that person. It was clear that Tang San had a secret plan that was hurting the Douluo Plane. The God of Destruction frowned as a dark thought crossed his mind. He wondered if Tang San was treating his home world like a private garden, waiting for Luck to grow so he could harvest it for himself.

Stealing Luck from a lower world was strictly against the rules. If the God of Destruction could prove it, the central authority of the God Realm would punish Tang San severely. To find the truth, he made the projection larger until he could see a young man sitting in a laboratory. Information about the boy's life appeared next to the image.

The God of Destruction watched the boy work on new ideas for Spirit Rings and noted how his fate was shielded so that no one could look into his memories. He felt his eyes brighten with excitement. This boy was a true talent. While the other Son of Luck had been given eighty percent of the world's saved Luck, this kid had the natural potential to become a Divinity all on his own without any help.

He let out a short laugh, thinking about how Tang San's first reaction was to try and kill such a gifted person instead of helping him. It reminded him of his old rival, Asura, which made him feel a bit annoyed.

Still, he reached out his hand and sent a small bit of his own divine power down to the boy. He decided that a talent like this was worth protecting. Besides, if Tang San tried to attack again, the God of Destruction would have a perfect excuse to step in and stop him.

The Goddess of Life looked at him with a confused expression and asked what was happening. The God of Destruction turned to her, calling her Xiao Lu, and asked what was wrong. She looked at the projection of the boy with a look of pure shock. She told him that her God Position had just signaled that it had found a perfect successor.

The God of Destruction was stunned. He knew that her standards for a successor were incredibly high. To take her place, a person had to have even more potential to control life than she did. When she confirmed that the boy met those rules, the God of Destruction became very serious. He looked back at the boy in the projection to see what he had missed.

But as he watched the boy, a clear message suddenly flashed into his own mind from his own power. His God Position told him that it had also found a successor. The God of Destruction stood there in complete silence, unable to believe what was happening. Both of their seats were choosing the same boy at the same time.

Down in the Sun Moon Empire, inside the Kong Family Mansion, Kong Ming'an sat in his spiritual sea. He was staring at a white figure in front of him, feeling like he had been tricked into a very complicated situation. He had just finished cleaning the evil energy from the Soul-Devouring Carving Knife when a hole in space opened up. Then, a ghost named Electrolux floated out and offered to make a deal. It all felt way too convenient to be a mistake.

As he watched Electrolux help merge the life energy into his body, Kong Ming'an started to think. He knew that powerful beings must have noticed him by now. He was sure that the high and mighty Tang San probably saw him as a mistake that needed to be erased. Since Tang San wanted him gone, there was no way Tang San had sent Electrolux to help him.

He realized the "coincidences" must have been the work of the Plane Will. The world itself was betting on him to win. Since he was still alive even though Tang San knew about him, it meant the world had protected him, or someone else in the God Realm had stopped Tang San from attacking.

He finally understood his situation. He had become a piece in a giant game of chess between very powerful beings. Instead of being afraid, his eyes shone with a new light. For the moment, it seemed he was safe, and he intended to use that safety to get much stronger.
