The accident had been clean.

Too clean.

A lorry. A curve. A report signed within hours. Compensation promised. Silence followed.

Arjun remembered standing beside two bodies, feeling nothing. People mistook that for strength.

It was numbness.

His son had believed in transparency. In systems. In rules. He had trusted that if something went wrong, someone would fix it.

Arjun learned then that systems protect themselves first.

Years later, when Priya placed a mouse in his hand and said, "Just click, Thatha," he did not know he was beginning something irreversible.
